Reincarnated as the fourth son of a noble and tamed an SS-rank dragon-Chapter 36: Factory and Store
The potions factory had been built, it was bigger than the Lestor family mansion, and it had a room big enough to hold at least 500 large cauldrons and 20 cylinders of 10,000 liters each. On the first floor, there were still a few rooms that would function as an office, a waiting room, a kitchen, a dining room, and a room that would be the safe room, which had an underground part to hide the safe. This room had some holes in the wall, which would be used for magical protection stones. Kaly was thinking of using some stones to form a barrier in the room, where only a few people could enter.
On the second floor there were several bedrooms, bathrooms and a large room with a shallow pool. It had some crystals that Kaly asked to be placed in it. They always made the water clean, no matter how dirty the person was, the water never got dirty. The crystals were powered by mana.
Darius’ room had a smaller room, which was also a bathing room, as well as a bath room. He had asked for one like this when he remembered how common it was in his world for rooms to have a bathroom. This room also had crystals. His bedroom was twice the size of the room in the mansion. His bed was much bigger, so he could even sleep with more women at the same time, which was Kaly’s idea, seeing as he had unwittingly started to build a harem.
The factory had an iron fence, and at the back there was a relatively large space, which could be used to grow some plants quickly.
The fence was about 20 meters away from the wall, at the back the distance was almost 100.
While Darius continued to look at the plant, Kaly took some crystals from his bag of items, they were thrown and part of the earth began to take shape, Kaly used water magic and the earth turned to mud, in the end, statues of beings with wings were created, they carry swords. Kaly created golems, which would serve as a defense and attack force in case someone tried to invade. But she didn’t stop there, Kaly pulled out a different crystal, it was the size of an orange. She created another statue, this one had no weapon, she carried a shield and in her right hand, the sphere was being held.
An energy barrier began to form, which would protect the factory, Kaly allowed only a few people to get through the barrier. Apart from Darius, Zenith and Nyne, the adventurers and the village children.
Kaly needed to buy furniture and some materials for the factory, she would go the next day, Darius, Zenith and Nyme would take the exam for the academy.
A few days passed and the result was obvious, all three passed, and they would start studying the following month, Darius was no longer as excited as before. He thought he would be entering the Magic Academy, but he had entered the Royal Academy, he thought they were the same thing, but he was wrong. Although both were in the same place and bore the name of the Great Mage, they differed in their focus, the Royal Academy was focused on politics and economics, and after graduating they could enter the Magic Academy, where they would study various other things, such as magic, alchemy, archery, fighting, and more politics and economics.
His brothers always came first in the exam, he should do the same, at least to show them that he had the ability. Although he was already getting discouraged as time went by. The child’s body made him feel bored, he was used to the body of someone older and never managed to get used to the body of a child, he felt more willing and at the same time more tired. His body had a lot of energy, but his brain didn’t.
He went to school every day, but one day he got tired and asked Kaly to teach him clone magic. He learned, so he created a clone to go to school, while he stayed at the factory to help make potions. Nyme asked to learn the magic and did the same as Darius. Zenith followed their example and decided to use clones.
They spent a lot of mana, but when they returned to the factory, the clones were undone and everything they had experienced was sent back to the person who conjured the clones. It was possible to learn several new subjects at once with this magic. At least Darius could do it, he had the most mana of the three.
With this routine they managed to increase their potion production, until Elara asked for more potions to sell to other cities and countries. The Guild had a piece of equipment that could teleport objects, which only the Adventurers’ Guild and the Kings could use. The Merchants’ Guild had always wanted to be able to use it, but they had never been able to, especially given the amount of mana it takes, so only the Guilds and the Court Mages could use it. Even with mages, it would be too expensive for merchants, mages would charge whatever they wanted due to the scarcity of people with this power.
The machine could send small objects, the size of a bag, so it was used as a form of communication and to send some aid using bags of items. The weight interfered with the amount of mana used, so they always tried to use the smallest item bags.
Kaly didn’t object to this, she wanted to get more money and fame for Darius. She accepted but asked the Guild to buy all the demon bodies she owned. Elara accepted, but regretted it when she saw the quantity; they would make great items, such as bags, wielders, and armor. The skin of these demons is very resistant and has a defense against magic and physical attacks. They are also very expensive.
The value of all these skins would be almost what the Kingdom collects in taxes in one year.
Elara agreed to buy, but it would take time before she could pay for everything. Kaly didn’t force her to pay immediately and agreed to wait. With this, they could greatly increase their profit.
The store they got from Arcteri was abandoned, some products were sold, but after a while, they tired of it and were left with only potions. But Darius wanted to get back to selling items as quickly as possible, so they hired two A-rank adventurers and a saleswoman from the Merchant’s Guild. They had a list of several people willing to work, all they had to do was pay a fee and the contractor could choose who would be most helpful. They hired the saleswoman but thought of one more person, who would take care of the cleaning. In the end, they hired two saleswomen and someone to clean up and make the food.
Before they opened again, they bought the land at the back and built a small house. It would serve as a home for the saleswomen and the adventurers, which would help, since they slept in hostels, which were often a bit far away. Treating his employees well was something that Darius liked, even more so because it was like that in his world, at least in some companies. 𝘧𝓇ℯ𝑒𝓌𝑒𝑏𝓃𝘰𝘷𝘦𝘭.𝒸ℴ𝓂
The employees were confused, but they didn’t complain. The adventurers were the best they could find. Ori and Sene, Ori was a swordsman and Sene was a mage who used wind magic. She could use magic from other elements, but only for everyday use, like creating water when she was thirsty. She only knew how to attack with wind magic. The saleswomen were Lura and Fae, the maid who would be in charge of cleaning and food was Bria.
Darius wanted to start his store with the basics, he received a lot of orders for the pens that the nobles saw Kael sign in the Treaty of Kings, the rulers saw a fine pen that didn’t get dirty and dried quickly. He wanted to start with pens, but created a separation, cheaper and more expensive pens, he wanted more people to have access to the products.
Darius separated some lists, he separated transparent pens to cost more and he created bamboo pens, he saw once on the internet, but never used. He sorted these out so they would cost less. Then he separated the papers, in this world they were thick and yellowish. White papers would cost more and recycled papers less. He knew that everyone might like these papers, as they were very thin.
He also thought about larger papers, because of the large documents, so he created A3-sized papers.
"You’ve really thought of everything," Kaly said as he watched Darius using the coin purse.
"Yes, but it uses up a lot of mana, so it’s good to spend it all at once before going to sleep."
"That makes sense," Kaly said as she put the objects away in her bag of items.
The next day she would take the bag to the storeroom, which was in the underground part of the house, near a bath room that Darius had asked them to build for his employees. Bath rooms were common in noblemen’s houses, commoners usually washed in the river or used buckets. Purification stones were expensive, but water could also be cleansed using purification magic, but only if the person could use it and had an affinity with light, or had enough mana to use magic of other attributes.
"I want this store to be well accepted and for us to become very rich," he was different, as he got older he became closer to what he was in his past life, maybe it was the hormones. Or not.
"That makes sense, how much money do you want?"
"I don’t know, we must have a lot of money, but I don’t know what we can use it for either."
"You look different," she paused when he looked at her. "Not that I’m complaining, I just feel a difference, but that’s good, staying the same isn’t good."
He continued creating more items and Kaly kept putting them in her bag of items.
