Reincarnated as the fourth son of a noble and tamed an SS-rank dragon-Chapter 46: Kidnapping
As Darius was setting up the tent with the maids, a group of armed men started running towards him. Then they surrounded him and Darius let himself be kidnapped, before which he used clone magic without them noticing.
Sandra watched, but she wasn’t nervous, she even gave a slight smile, one of the men saw it and thought how bad Darius must be for his maid to laugh at the situation.
The clone went to the mansion and informed Kaly, that Darius just wanted them to continue selling food and not do anything about the kidnapping, Kaly was curious but went along with the idea, she warned everyone in the house. Orphelia was worried, but Lucian and Amanda reassured her, after all, he was very strong.
"But why wouldn’t he defend himself and let himself be taken?"
"To find the boss, simple as that. If he defended himself, the men would be arrested or run away, he wouldn’t know who sent them, or if they were acting alone. If he goes to their base, he can get all the information he needs."
"It makes total sense," Orphelia reassured.
Darius was tied up in a dirty room, he didn’t recognize the place, but he was certainly in a dungeon of a mansion. He kept thinking of the nobles who hated him, but he couldn’t think of any who went that far.
A man with a big beard and a scar under his eyes was laughing.
"You’re going to die soon, but first you’ll be tortured."
"Good, I’ve been waiting for this day since I was born."
"How?"
"That’s right, kill me soon, but first let me take a look at your boss."
Darius was only joking, he wasn’t afraid, any injury could be healed. He just wanted to annoy him and somehow get him to tell him some information. In a moment of anger, it’s hard to contain yourself.
"I see you’re a lot more annoying than I remembered."
Darius stared at the man and tried to remember where he knew him from. It took a while.
"You don’t remember me?"
"Not really, my memory’s pretty good, I think we’ve only met once or twice without talking."
"I’m Baron Rodri Arman," he said angrily.
"I still don’t know who you are."
"A few years ago you made my paper store go bankrupt, don’t you remember that?"
"No."
"You’re really annoying, it’ll be worth every penny to see you die and beg for your life."
"What if I use magic and escape from here?"
"It won’t do any good, this place is armored, at most you’ll be able to use 10% of all your power," he said laughing.
"10%? I’ll only use 1%," he lied. But he used ice magic and caused the walls to be destroyed with the force of the impact.
His power wasn’t reduced, he was using a magical artifact that prevented status reductions. He had spent a lot of money and couldn’t wait to use it to show that the money had been a correct investment on his part.
The baron ordered the bandits to stop Darius, but one by one they were defeated. Darius showed himself to be a bit of a sadist; he used his magic and cut off each one’s arm.
"You can get your arm back by buying my potions."
The Baron started to run, he was fat and clumsy, he stumbled a few times, Darius didn’t care, he kept walking slowly, he wanted to see the despair on the Baron’s face.
"I don’t want to kill you, but I want my spoils of war, I want to take everything," he said, looking at a room that was open, it was full of weapons and gold. As well as some chests.
"You can’t take it."
"I can’t?" He paused and entered the room. "Who’s going to stop me?"
The baron remained silent.
"You can’t stop me and there’s no one else here who can."
"I can report you to the King," he thought it was a good idea to do so.
"Are you going to say that you kidnapped another nobleman’s son, then he managed to escape and stole all your money?"
The Baron didn’t understand what that meant.
"Are you stupid? If you confess to a crime you’ll be arrested, if everyone knows that a nobleman’s son is stronger than the thugs you hired, don’t you think you’d be a laughing stock?"
"I don’t need to tell you that you were kidnapped, I can tell you that you broke in and stole."
"I’d still assume that a child could steal from a nobleman. Besides, do you really think I’d accept being kidnapped without a plan already formulated?" He paused, but the Baron remained silent, Darius touched a ring on his left hand and an image was transmitted to the wall. It was the Baron. "That guy’s speech and yours were recorded, I can show it to you whenever I want, and then we’ll see who gets arrested."
He walked around the room and put all the items in his item box, it was full before he could put everything in.
"You were lucky, so use that money to start another company and try something new. Besides, losing twice to the same child must be humiliating, so I wish you success," he said as he pulled out a few vials of potions. "On me, use these on them or they’ll end up dying and those who survive could become your enemies."
Darius went upstairs and looked at the Baron’s house, it was much more luxurious than the one he lived in. So he watched for a while, the servants stared at him, but Darius did nothing. He just walked around the house and then left.
He asked a man to take him to the center of the Capital, and the man accepted, he looked after the Baron’s carriage, so he assumed that Darius was a guest and it would be his job to take him where he asked, in thanks Darius gave a gold coin.
In the hut, Darius acted as if nothing had happened.
"I noticed your smile, you could have faked it. At least they couldn’t understand that you were laughing at them."
"I thought it was funny that they thought they’d managed to kidnap you. But I’ll try to restrain myself next time."
"Next time?"
"You’re a merchant who’s become famous, and in addition to many parents wanting their daughters to marry you, there will still be many people who would rather see your head on a platter."
"You’re right, but I don’t know. Better not to worry about it, better just to go with the flow."
"You’re right. Now back to our subject, we’ve sold more than twice as many and we still have some units we can sell," she said as she put the sauces away in an item bag.
The stall was becoming famous, and people who came to try it for the price were surprised, and some came back a second time. He had really succeeded in popularizing the food, or so it seemed.
This would allow him to sell all the wheat and gradually his family would become richer and more influential. His brothers were trying harder, they were afraid of losing the title and the mansion to Darius.
Darius didn’t care, in theory he already had his house, the potions factory was bigger than the mansion and had a room for him, as well as having several parts where he could continue his food store.
"We need to enlarge our stall, but my father won’t like it if I keep using you as my employee."
"You could use slaves, you can find very attractive women if you pay them well, they can work during the day and serve you sexually at night," Sandra emphasized the sexual service part. The look she gave him could stir up any man, and to make matters worse, she flicked her tongue.
"I don’t need services like that, I just..."
"I forgot that you sleep with three women, maybe adding one more could be dangerous. I don’t know how you manage to handle them all, you must have an incredible physique, as well as a great sex drive."
"I think you’ve been given too much freedom by me."
"Sorry, I stopped. I swear. But I still think you should hire female slaves, they’re under a spell and won’t be able to tell their master’s secrets, just give them food, a house, and clothes and they’ll do. And they won’t disobey your orders."
Slavery existed in this world, but it was different. Here, slaves were people who had been captured in wars, or sold by their family to be one less mouth to feed.
There were still people who ran up huge debts and ended up like this. Although there was no law that looked after the safety of slaves, they were treated better than the slaves Darius remembered from his world.
But there were still some slave owners who took advantage of them, used their bodies as they pleased, and abused physical violence.
After learning what slavery was like, he reconsidered and decided to go to a slave trader.
