—«Misty Cloud Plateau Dungeon».

The name was self-explanatory. The dungeon backdrop was set on a mountain height surrounded by mist.

The dungeon had bad visibility, the monsters were strong with attack elements often linked to «Lightning Element», had dinosaur type monsters and would jump out from the mist. The latter was the main adversary to face in the dungeon.

With surprised attacks coming from deep within forests, it was easy to accumulate damage even without engaging into combat. And the monsters in the lower floors held skills to easily overwhelm basic jobs.

The foremost point of importance when clearing advanced dungeons were recovery, and adequate defense. Challengers had to make sure they could heal completely within the given battle, must be prepared to face any surprise attack, and defeat enemies in the short timeframe. In short, it was about efficiency.

Well, not everything comes at first. It's common for the fights to extend, eventually overspending resources, and that would later come back as a snowball effect. Overuse of MP, and bruteforce was something to watch out for.

The monsters were also elite categories, and their single attack could take out a good chunk of HP. They could recover, and also boasted high defense.

I had heard of «King Absolute» stockpiling «Hi-Potions». Now, it made sense why. For the record, this was a «Rank-2» dungeon. Simply speaking, in the list of advanced-low dungeons, it was ranked 2nd from the last.

I was curious about it, and decided to ask the question.

"So it's not «Fallen Trees After Tempest Dungeon», huh?"

This was the «Rank - 1» adv-low dungeon. As the easiest dungeon among others in this category, it was often the primary choice. It's not surprising they're having a hard time against a dungeon one rank above it.

A bitter smile spread on Yuri-senpai's face.

"It's a bit embarrassing to say, but this is the dungeon my father had cleared in his time. An achievement is unique only when it's first earned."

Uh, that's surely a... kind of situation. Hmm, I did hear royalties, Crown Prince in particular, often had too much politics to handle.

Yeah, clearing a difficult dungeon would earn fame, but there were just as many challenges to tackle in that case. It's an obvious outcome, though not impossible.

I could jump straight on the hardest dungeon because I had our guild prepared, all credited to my information. I knew what level, equipment, and job to be prepared, but he lacked that. Personally, a methodical approach would've been far better.

I think he needs to reconsider his plan first. I could decide on cooperation later, but I needed more information about his current situation.

"Well, can you tell me how much you know about «Misty Cloud Plateau Dungeon»? How far have you progressed on your map, and what have you concluded about the situation beyond floor 30?"

"......You're impressive, to not ask about our battlepower, but information. Others would begin with questions over how our boss battles or so."

"Boss battles are all about compatible jobs and sufficient levels. With the rumours I have picked, you already have your lineup sorted out. There's no way that would be a problem. But, the problem here is the journey. This is where you must be struggling, aren't you?"

"Haha, now I am glad to ask you. You really know the gist of the situation."

Yuri-senpai burst into laughter, and then gradually explained the situation.

"It has been three and a half months since we kicked off our expedition. So far, it's advancing within calculation, but we're bound to fall into a stalemate. I can see it coming."

Heh, now that's a surprise.

I had heard about their expedition, then again, with all the ruckus going around, it was inevitable. There shouldn't be a problem if their preparation encompassed most of the factors.

But from his request for cooperation, there seemed to be more than meets the eye. I had thought he was hoping to recruit me or Lana given our advanced job at first. Now, it didn't seem so. The stalemate was indeed troublesome, even though I had my time as a gamer to collaborate with others for help.

So, I presumed the preparations were only done on surface level, while the complications had already begun to rear its ugly head behind the scene.

"We do have a map... but it's barely coming out. The best we have mapped is the shortest route to lower floors."

In other words, the majority of the area was left unexplored. As pioneers, they'd many unexplored areas left behind in their wake. I, for one, would have felt like skin crawling on ants if there was even a small area left blacked out as a gamer. —*We might find something unexpected in those unexplored regions.* This was the speciality of pioneers.

Then again, he already explained the main goal is to clear it, not explore. Personally, it sounds like a waste of opportunity. Ah well, this was the woe of choosing a harder dungeon. This dungeon was especially troublesome with frequent sneak attacks after all.

The problem was the same in the game. The best countermeasure you could've was having a scout with an advanced job. If this wasn't an option, then a certain item was the way.

Anyway, the general consensus was to first experience a «Rank 1» Adv-low dungeon, and then use that experience to clear «Rank 2» Adv-low dungeon. Plus, this would aid them in acquiring new equipment, and faster level up.

...Wait a minute. If they hadn't cleared Rank-1 dungeon, then they shouldn't have even acquired *that* item. It wasn't a mandatory item, but the exploration was bound to stretch far without it. Adv-low dungeon in itself had more than 60 floors, and each floor was expansive.

The said item was locked inside a certain hidden door. I had my eyes on it, so I need to hold that information.

"As for situation beyond 30th floor, we do have general grasp of route till floor 42. The Royal Family has the records from some of challengers who had once challenged it. Beyond floor 42 is an uncharted territory even for us. I am contemplating to halt there."

"So that's the situation, huh."

Floor 41 and above was the starting line where the wandering boss began showing up. They're a huge danger when coupled with poor visibility. From the explanation, the said challengers must have faced the trouble there. This was why a certain item or skill was required to clear away the mist. But with the map stopping at that floor, it's not surprising there was no such instruction.

And naturally, the recipe for *that* was behind the hidden door of «Rank - 1» Adv-low dungeon as well, or accessible from boss drop only. Then, unsurprisingly, it also required an advanced job to craft it. In short, this was why starting with the «Rank 1» dungeon was recommended. Bruteforce was also an option, but that would've required a colossal amount of preparation.

From the explanation, the level of «King Absolute» was also treading in a subtle balance. The difference between top and bottom was awful. Of course, that was bound to happen by skipping the below level dungeon. The field boss of the 30th floor was their limit.

And this was the whole ordeal which led him to speak to me. Phew, Yuri-senpai sure had quite an insightful eyes. Unfortunately, though he was hoping to borrow Lana and I from our guild, I had to refrain from it. Instead, I decided to pass on some advice.

"Yuri-senpai, haste isn't the solution. You should first start by clearing «Fallen Trees After Tempest Dungeon». You can resume the «Misty Cloud Plateau» dungeon afterward. The rest require useful items, but they can be borrowed."

"This..."

I tried to steer the direction, explanation the situation. Level, in particular, was a must.

Advanced dungeons weren't something you should try to challenge by rushing through. A step at a time.

Meanwhile, by the time they're cleared «Fallen Trees After Tempest Dungeon», «Eden» should've set their feet on an advanced dungeon too. Then, I just need to retrieve the said item recipe and hand it to Hannah to craft it.

By marketing it as 'must-have' for the advanced dungeon, I could have Yuri-senpai purchase a lot of them. And then, this should also serve as a reminder that production jobs were just as much a part of an advanced dungeon as other jobs.

We're talking about the Crown Prince. I was betting on him to notice the revelation. With that, we should have more and more guilds prepared to challenge advanced dungeons.
