Reincarnated Into A Dead Woman's Body In Another World-Chapter 463: Arc 6, - 79: Experiment 609
Beauregard whined as her head reformed just as a frost ball deposited a sparking blonde overhead. "Eugh!!!" the slime-girl looked up and water spiralled up to catch the two.
"Fwoosh!" Frost blinked away and Jotou aimed her blade at the vortexes about to swarm her.
Her lightning fizzled forward in zaps as she made contact. Like bullets, raindrops fired off into the blonde, but they sizzled off of her sparks.
The vortexes formed into tendrils that attempted to impale her. Only thrusted up by the forces of water pushing against her blade, Jotou charged herself out of the way and plummeted, narrowly avoiding the- "SPWLOOOSH!"
-barbed spears of water that crashed into one another before forming a tidal wave that chased after her descent. Hearing the cascade against the air, Jotou saw past her thrashing locks the face of an enraged Beauregard and the torrent rushing towards her.
In the distance, a few more rings of water streams lost all volume till it was nothing at all. Jotou had some sixth sense that she was about to hit the surf and she looked down, only to see the surf rising to hit her.
She pointed her sword down. "Splosh! Tshhh!!" Water hissed around her sparks, but even so, in that moment they thrashed into her despite its ineffectiveness.
Even though she could breathe and see, her zaps were nothing if every wave came rushing into her from every direction. "SLAP! FWHOSH!" The other side of the water crashed down and sandwiched the blonde in between.
Water bashed into her, one side to the other. "NGh!" Jotou winced as the blunt force scattered her sparks more than anything else Beauregard attempted.
The slime-woman’s anger subsided as she giggled; her new toy in a globe of roiling water that she raised up to her head with ease. Jotou got to know the feeling of what it would be like to be inside of a washing machine...
None of her zaps pushed her; trapped in a spinning orb—only a matter of time before her magic gave out. Beauregard brought her lips to the globe she now cupped in both hands and parted her lips, about to eat-
"FWSH! SHWSH! CRSH!"
Beauregard’s eyes widened as she looked down and no longer felt the waters. Her maelstrom of a lower half had been frozen from every angle and an armoured figure stood far beneath, her cape fluttering in the wind.
But how was a whirlpool so fierce frozen? The water itself would have broken the ice! It mattered not; Beauregard held the orb of water in one hand and formed her fist into an ocean-blue hammer to smash the bug and water started cracking and melting the ice.
"AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!"
Loud, silvery-white echoes rippled and blasted into the ice from one side. "Tink. Crck. Crack-SHNK!" Like a mirror, Beauregard’s whirlpool shattered beneath her. Crystals of ice rained into the sea as the massive titan came falling from the sky.
Not leaving a drop of water unfrozen, Frost exhaled clouds out of her helmet while she watched. In her periphery, there was someone holding the hand of a detective she despised.
Stood on the water and letting the waves roll beneath her shadow-coated feet—she stood triumphantly with a few fingers posed over her eyepatch, "Hark oh deity of this age; I am the Child of Void that resides within the Sea of Stars.
Thou hath been deemed unworthy of possessing thy powers thieved from the upper planes. Thou may beseech the Gods of yore for thy exoneration, however, I, Stella Vespertillio, by mine authority revoke thine right of ascension. Begone with ye; cascade under the beds of the sea!"
"FWLOSH!"
With Tiffany’s proclamation being echoed out, Beauregard fell into the sea and sent tidal waves tossing in every direction. Jotou’s sphere broke and her sparking form was sent plummeting into Beauregard. 𝘧𝓇ℯ𝑒𝓌𝑒𝑏𝓃𝘰𝘷𝘦𝘭.𝒸ℴ𝓂
Fumeko scratched one ear and muttered under her breath, "Whatever gets your powers going Tiffy..."
"Hahaha-! Fumeko? Meko, Meko!" Tiffany began repeatedly slapping the brunette’s arm that she was still holding the hand of; her eye was fixed on the massive wave rushing towards them.
Fumeko’s eyes waned, "Relax, we’re a walking boat." By the time the wave got to them, it was a mound that rolled through right under their feet. The brunette’s spell kept them aloft, though it rocked them up and down. "Just don’t fall forward—or backwards."
"W-why would you say that!?" Tiffany clung to Fumeko’s arm as the wave went by. Water crashed into the ships to the side and sent them flying in either direction, while the wave that hit the shore did no more damage than what had already been done.
"Fwoosh."
Tiffany gasped and then cleared her throat before unhanding Fumeko. "Halt! From whence does thou hail voyager? Let thy identity be known to the void."
Frost who floated on a newly made ice plate simply stared at the pale blonde. Her helmet then turned to the brunette, "I’m not even gonna ask..."
"Good, cause you weren’t getting answers anyway," Fumeko sneered. "Now where’s Jotou?" she looked at the new crater in the sea where two arms emerged and grabbed onto the surface of the water like it was a floor.
"Somewhere in there," Frost replied. "She’s probably fine."
"Well Beauregard isn’t dead, so why don’t you try harder on your freeze-job so we can finish what we need to do," she glared daggers.
"Oh I’m sorry, your affinity must be so tired from walking everywhere," Frost mocked.
"Aren’t you supposed to be an elite soldier or something? Oh right, they were a bunch of half-assed nuts who got what was coming-"
"NGYAHHHH!!!!"
All three of them turned upon hearing Beauregard’s scream. The slime-woman hoisted herself up as new legs of slime formed so she could stand at the centre of a maelstrom.
Frost spun her prongs around and faced in the direction of the titan, "Just get the lunatic ready to do that again." "Fwoosh!"
"Hmph. Twas not amusing to be flouted," Tiffany crossed her arms.
"Trust me, she’s the last person who’s attention you need," Fumeko rolled her eyes.
The reverse-rain had diminished in intensity; the cloudless blue sky let the Sun shine across the sea that glittered. Beauregard herself sparkled from head to toe as another dozen or so rings that orbited around her lost their magic and dissipated.
Just around her legs, a spark of electricity travelled with the whirlpool’s current. Her head inched out of the water to look up while her body remained submerged and straight.
"Enjoying the view!?" Beauregard slammed her fist into the water with an unnatural speed and reversed the maelstrom’s direction in a second.
Jotou adjusted for the current and dove further in to face up and travel along the torrent on her back. Beauregard was almost brought to tears as she lifted her foot and slammed it down, almost trying to squash the blonde like a bug.
"You little! Pest!" "SPLOSH!" "AGH! You ruin everything!" "THRASH!" "Why can you not mind your own business!!?" "PLISH!" "I AM A GOD!" "BISH!" "I AM THE SAVIOUR YOU HEAR ME!?" "PLASH!"
"I AM THE ONE WHO IS GOING TO END THIS WAR AND YOU ARE GETTING IN THE WAY! YOU ARE THE ENEMY, YOU ARE NO HERO!" "THWASH!" "SWLOSH!" "BASHHH!!!"
Her tantrum threw the sea into a fury; waves of ocean-blue water rose high, quite literally touching the sky as she raised both her arms up.
From the coast, they saw nothing; the sunlight was eclipsed in mere seconds by walls of water that came crashing down around the massive slime-woman.
From the SS Narwhal which coasted along the outer wall of shipwrecks, Hotaru held the fingers of her left hand so tightly that it hurt; her teeth were gritted and her brows raised—ears down and eyes about to water, barely sure what was going on.
As sunlight washed over the redhead and the waves crashed, leaving only the pillar of a new god standing, Hotaru tried to steady her erratic breaths. "Please... let this be over already," she whispered to herself.
Meanwhile, Jotou watched it all happen—heard all that she screamed. If only Beauregard knew that the blonde had long got herself away from the whirlpool beneath her feet by just going deeper underwater and fleeing back.
She waited for...
"SHNK! FSWH! FSWHCRSHSHHH!"
Spiralling up as fast as a speeding bullet, ice trailed her rapid path up Beauregard’s leg. Before the slime-woman could react, Frost shot herself through Beauregard’s leg.
The icy blue overtook the glow of the slime. Frost’s form spun rapidly with her arms out holding her signature prongs that blasted out ice shards faster than gunfire.
Her armoured figure tunnelled up the freezing up torso of Beauregard with a mix of multiple spells she used simultaneously. "CWRSH!" Frost shot out of Beauregard’s head and it started hailing icicles in the shape of daggers that shot down into the slime.
Beauregard winced as the hailstorm pelted her form. "Tsk! FWSK!" And each shard that sunk into her body exploded violently and froze over in an instant.
With a view of Beauregard’s final expression beginning to freeze over, Frost floated down in front of the new god’s face.
Clouds of her breath panted out of her helmet, the acid had eaten away at her armour down to the fabrics underneath and veins of hoarfrost veined up each of her limbs and visor, "Do me a favour and die quietly will you?" she requested.
Freezing cold—the crackle and snap of ice caught up to the throat before the slime-girl could yell. Beauregard was frozen completely.
Even the whirlpool beneath was iced till the ice sculpture of a new god began floating with a spiral base atop the sea’s surface while water flowed inwards to fill in the new gap. Cracks in the ice began to sizzle as acid began to melt-
"AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!"
Leaning forward and giving it her all, Tiffany screamed at the top of her lungs. Ripples and ripples of silvery-white echoes blasted against the ice. "CRCK." The entire sculpture fractured with shards of ice flying off, but something kept it together-
"BLASSTTTTTTTTT!!!!!!"
From below and on the base of the new iceberg, a sparking sword clanged into Beauregard’s frozen foot and blasted lightning upwards through the new god’s body, following by a shattering thunder.
For a moment, the shape of Jotou’s lightning was preserved in the ice as it shot out of Beauregard’s frozen head. "CRASHHHHH!!!"
Glittering like diamonds in the morning light, shards of crystalized Beauregard rained down, falling around an unsparked Jotou who huffed out a cloud of her breath. Ice crystals and snowflakes dotted her blonde locks before they melted.
The orbiting streams of water all were gone, as well as the rising rain. "Finally..." her shoulders slumped and she looked down. The chemical burns along her skin hurt when she moved. Frost descended onto the ice and held the side of her helmet.
"Thwap."
’Danger!’ Jotou felt a spark down her hair and she reflexively turned to grab ahold of the neck of Beauregard who was in the middle of transforming into her human shape and about to lunge for the blonde.
Beauregard’s eyes widened and she whimpered as Jotou sparked herself completely and fizzled out lightning from her grip. The slime-girl yelped as she was choked into steam, but part of her separated.
"Thwop." Onto the ice, she fell as a glob of slime and rapidly regenerated by forming water. "Fwcrsh!" Frost switched her prongs to the shorter ends and punched into the slime-girl and froze her in a flash.
But there was a hole in the ice that sizzled—one that Beauregard had burrowed into. "Couldn’t get all of her properly huh?" Jotou sighed and sheathed her sword.
"Put a sock in it pretty Princely."
Jotou scanned the icy blue beneath her feet for anomalies. She flexed her fingers, "Feels like the mana’s coming back."
"Good, cause I’d be dead otherwise," Frost relayed.
"Twhp."
Both of them heard the subtle crack and searched around. "AHHHH!"
The half-formed Beauregard was sent flying from the side of the iceberg and into the air by silvery-white echoes. "Fwoosh. Bshck!" Frost blinked up and froze the creature with a punch.
"Tfsh!" As the frozen bit came falling down, Jotou shattered it with a sparked fist, but a small molecule, no bigger than a droplet escaped the ice and lightning.
The particle rapidly began to regenerate while through the air. "SHWSH!" Instead of freezing all the way through, Frost blinked all around the forming Beauregard and beamed ice from all angles.
"Tink-ting-tingng..." A crystal ball rolled across the ice with a slime trapped within. Jotou rushed to grab the ice orb while Frost landed elsewhere.
"Woosh." Fumeko appeared next to the golden blonde right when she picked up the trapped slime. "What’s happening? Why was there half a Beauregard coming out of the side of the ice...?"
"Well, this is the last of her," Jotou held the orb up to her face and saw the small slime-girl taking human form—except this time, she was tiny. Looking around, she quickly started burning away the floor of her new cage.
"Hey puny god, keep going. I wanna see what happens when you fall onto this," Fumeko held her gleaming purple dagger right under the ice orb while Jotou held it from above.
Beauregard from within looked up and around; she placed her hands on the walls. Her expression was barely notable, but she formed some semblance of water; it was however, a very small amount.
"Figure her affinity’s either tired or cut into pieces at this point," Jotou stated and brought her face closer. "She’s cute like this; almost makes you forget that she’s a terrorist that nearly destroyed a nation."
"That nation’s gonna be after you, so you better be going—soon," Frost held her chest and was sat on her knees on the ice.
"Can’t you convince them?" Fumeko side-eyed.
"Do I look like a diplomat?" Frost retorted. "You’re not the priority in Malecise Howllett, but I’m sure they’d like you gone all the same."
Fumeko took a deep breath and glanced at Jotou, "I assume you’re not planning on keeping her."
"I just wish I could see her expression right now," Jotou’s eyes sparked. Lighting began to coat the fingers holding the ice as the slime-girl within bashed at the walls of her cage in sheer panic.
As the acid began to melt through, Jotou jolted up so much electricity that there was nothing but steam left. In an instant, the frozen orb she held was floating into the air without a drop of surviving slime. "Goodbye Beauregard."
