Chapter 155: So What?

The soft, golden rays passed through the window, illuminating the dark room, welcoming a new day, and forcing me awake.

’What a wonderful day.’

No nightmares, no hidden truths, and no strange man entering my dreams. Yeah, it was indeed a wonderful day.

Selene was right behind me, sleeping peacefully without a worry in the world.

I smiled as I remembered my confession. ’It was better than I expected it to be.’

After telling her about my ability, she surprisingly didn’t show the reaction I expected. Instead, she was excited and asked many questions about my spatial awareness and what it could do.

It was either she loved me so much that she trusted me blindly even in the sensitive matters... or Aria was a genius!

Maybe a mix of both, all I did was repeated everything that Aria said in my head.

’Wait, today is Saturday, right?’

I suddenly remembered something as I checked my bracelet, and indeed, it was Saturday.

My expression turned grim.

Seraphina and Silas were supposed to visit me today, but unlike the last time, Aria wasn’t coming with them.

I had no choice but to remember how Silas knew that I killed someone, which made me a little worried about today’s meeting.

For the past few days, I kept thinking about something to say, any excuse that could save me from that, but nothing came into my mind.

I could only hope they’d ’respect’ my privacy and let the matter go, though it was unlikely to happen.

’Well, there is nothing I can do at this point.’

Immediately, I teleported away, leaving Selene alone in the bed and going to the kitchen. My plan was making something delicious to make them forget about everything else.

As I was busy making waffles, I couldn’t help but give a glance at the red coffin in the corner of the kitchen.

Glutton and I tried many times to understand the mechanism of the coffin and the runes inscribed on it, but we couldn’t even find anything similar in the library.

Of course, we could have copied the runes to test them, but we’d be stupid if we really tried something like that. Sometimes, an unknown rune can be dangerous.

That was also why I didn’t do anything with the cube that I took from Taigo. But now that I knew a potential truth about Lunara and the government, I started to feel more urgency to find a way to understand these runes.

I wasn’t planning to fight her, but to escape if I ever needed to.

A few minutes later, there were 5 plates with delicious waffles on them in front of me.

’Now, for the top.’

I smirked as I took something special out of my storage.

In my hand, I held a small box filled with small, juicy, red fruits, their appearance was close to that of blueberries. They were called bloodberries.

Only judging by the name, it was obvious that they contained blood. I was surprised to know that some trees had blood on them, but, well, it was a magical world, so I should have expected that. 𝙛𝓻𝒆𝒆𝒘𝙚𝓫𝙣𝙤𝒗𝙚𝓵.𝙘𝙤𝙢

[Cough... can’t you buy me some of them later?]

Hearing Glutton’s request, I refused immediately. Did he think they were cheap?

I placed the bloody fruits on top of 4 plates, and put 4 blood cups beside them. For the fifth one, I put strawberry juice beside the waffles, and some fresh strawberries on top.

With everything ready, I went to the living room and found Selene already waiting for me with sleepy eyes.

"Good morning..." Selene yawned softly before her eyes landed on the waffles.

She squinted her eyes. "You got used to blood rapidly."

Placing the plates, I shrugged. "You may understand if you have a vampire tongue, as well."

I waited patiently until she finished her food. Noticing my silence, she frowned. "Is there something you want to say?"

I nodded. "Sorry, but... can you leave for a few hours? There is something I want to discuss with my family. I don’t know if they will be comfortable with you in the suite."

Obviously, I didn’t want her to be here in case I suddenly got another sudden punch on my face. Although Aria said she wasn’t coming today, Seraphina and Silas might have some shared genetics.

I even drank painkillers... just in case.

Selene looked at me in a daze for a moment before nodding in understanding. She smiled and said: "It’s okay, in fact, my father told me that he is coming back today, so I think I’ll have a private family meeting, too."

As she stood up and went to take a shower, I stayed looking ahead in daze.

’Kyle is coming back?’

I immediately remembered the wish he promised to give, and now, I felt more urgency to ask for it.

....I also felt a little grateful that I had to meet my family today. I could imagine Kyle cutting my head the moment he saw me beside Selene.

But wait, when did he tell her that he was coming back? Did he use an illusion, somehow?

[I suggest buying another bed.]

Hearing Glutton’s suggestion, I nodded in agreement. Maybe it was finally the time, I was rich enough now to easily buy a bed.

As Selene dressed in a normal outfit and stood before the door, she waved to me and opened it.

Just then, she found Seraphina and Silas standing as Silas said: "Oh, little Selene? Are you going somewhere?"

Selene nodded. "Yes, I’ll leave you have your private meeting. I know that you barely spoke to each other last time, so I can understand that you didn’t explain some sensitive things yet."

I watched silently as Silas smiled and Selene passed between them going to the elevator. Just then, Silas’ eyes landed on me.

He went inside with Seraphina and closed the door, then, a red barrier came out of nowhere, covering the entire room.

I stomped the ground lightly, and using my spatial awareness, I noticed that the sound couldn’t leave the room.

I sighed inwardly as I forced a smile. ’Couldn’t they at least start eating before doing that? I worked hard to make the waffles!’

Silas and Seraphina sat on the other side of the table, then finally, Seraphina opened her mouth:

"My lovely grandchild, I stopped Aria from coming with us to confirm something... did you kill anyone?"

’Fuck that!’

Of course they would ask about that immediately, why wouldn’t they?

I stopped smiling, my expression turned cold and indifferent as I calmly answered:

"Yes, so what?"
