Chapter 101: Ice Village

He could merge these average Goated pills for better results, but Nero’s voice irked him.

So, to escape from her hateful attitude, Jung swallowed them and concentrated on the feeling.

"Tier VII, here I come!" he muttered, warmth washing over him.

Having more than one archetype gave him yet another additional boost to his abilities.

His physical and mental capabilities were heightened, and his Arc usage and persona expenditure improved.

Even the skills that were part of him experienced the so-called level up.

It was, of course, about the feeling he got when his rebel archetype skills saw growth. fɾēewebnσveℓ.com

His resistance to low-level attacks changed to mid-level resistance.

Yet, his headache remained.

Revolt Blade improved as well.

Not only did his weapons become sharper, tougher, and lighter for him while heavier for his opponents, but even the enhancement they received when facing the mightier foes was upgraded.

He had no need for the crappy equipment that the ruler god had forsaken.

The same thing happened with Revolt Blood and Revolt Body.

His speedy recovery was augmented to an unimaginable degree, and without testing it, he could tell that soon he might actually not bleed.

Revolt Body allowed him to create an avatar.

He was currently using one, and this skill was one of the most useful additions he had, even if it was static for so long.

But not anymore...

Jung could create one more identity, and ideas flowed through his head.

He didn’t dwell on his Arcs any longer.

His interest was piqued by the players, as some of them had already tasted the miracle effect that his slavery pills brought.

They were content with tier increases and had no doubts whatsoever.

HugeP was one of the few who didn’t immediately ingest it.

It wasn’t that he didn’t trust Balatro, but he was careful not to waste its duration until absolutely necessary.

A selected few shared his opinion and even advised others not to misuse it.

"Not bad, not bad,"

Jung said it in his head and started a conversation with the system.

"How long do we need to walk uphill? Does that guy live on an Olympus Mountain or something?"

Vex giggled at his words.

[He is much higher than you think. My advice is to brace yourself for the long year.]

"Sounds fun," Jung commented.

"Hell no!" Nero yelled. "There is not a single bit of fun here."

"It’s just you being a boring bloke," he teased.

As Nero scratched his skin and almost poked his eyes out, the system said.

[He knows about your arrival and awaits the meeting.]

"That’s the same guy who told me to die, die, die... right?" he asked, confused.

[Yep. I think he is weird.] Vex said.

"And you are dumb. I think it’s a match made in heaven." Nero’s voice echoed in his mind.

"I should have spanked your fluffy ass when I had the chance."

Their usual friendly banter lasted longer than expected, and the system interfered.

[Stop it, kiddos. At least pay attention to those losers. Don’t break their hearts.]

She said it as if she was empathetic towards players and pitied them.

"Damn, you are right," Jung said, lowering Nero’s tail that he was stretching only a second ago.

Then he shifted his awareness to the players.

He began talking about the Nightmares he encountered.

Explaining how to fight against them and collect their pills to fill his pockets again, Jung cheerfully conversed.

On the slaughtering topic, he was reminded of his kill counter.

[Truth Lantern] Tier I

Progress: 785/1000

With an abundance of monsters he had executed before, he got closer to the goal.

Elara’s cheeky smile surfaced in his mind.

Knowing that he was closer to the ruler god than ever and he was waiting for him, Jung’s heart beat in anticipation.

The higher they climbed, the heavier the ground became.

Not only was the snow getting deeper, but the pressure and the blizzard intensified with each step.

Thankfully, the hill wasn’t sloped, and the angle wasn’t too bad either.

"How do you guys enjoy adventure with me?"

"It’s great. I can’t wait to encounter the abominations you described."

Exclaimed the lover archetype female player.

She was unusually close to the HugeP but rarely talked.

"Yeah..." another player agreed.

"Even though this place looks deserted, something is unsettling about it."

The innocent archetype player said, his hands never leaving the sword hilt.

Seeing various reactions and their attitude towards the game, Jung wanted them to experience the true horror of the world.

His wish was fulfilled soon enough.

He was the first one to detect icy houses in the fog.

They hid in the snow and looked like a giant igloo; they appeared to be homes for the tall monsters.

Meanwhile, his eyes worked to the fullest, and he picked up the slightest sounds in the snow.

It might look like he discovered a village for some snowy species, but it was only part of the truth.

"So that’s where you live," Jung said.

"Nightmares?" Nero guessed before HugeP asked.

"Nightmares. I wasn’t expecting them to live in such a place," he explained.

However, no one but him could see through the fog and the snow, and players looked around excitedly, searching for the monsters.

"You won’t find them with your lame senses. Come with me. I am going to get closer."

While waiting for their response, Jung dashed, crossing snow and frozen ground alike.

As Nero sniffed out the approaching battle, she jumped off his shoulders and ran herself for once.

The players swiftly followed behind, but the distance between them only increased.

"I think my question will be answered after this fight," Jung said, aiming to fill Truth Lantern’s kill counter.

He was the first one to reach the igloo village.

Being good at hiding his presence and bloodlust helped him remain undetected, and he summoned daggers like an assassin from the shadows.

Yet he was concealing himself in the blizzard.

It made no difference, and with a thirst to shed blood, to test his new Arc and find Elara, he was upon clueless Nightmares.

Nero swiftly arrived as well, her paws itching for a good fight.
