Reincarnated Jester: Taming Players-Chapter 118: Past; Present; Future
Chapter 118: Past; Present; Future
Jung had taken Ori’s appearance, but as soon as he saw her, his face was changed, altered, and transformed.
It happened without him noticing or knowing why, but Jung was back with his Balatro avatar.
It was a body and a face, belonging to his first life—a time when he was a lover with his entire being.
Something that had happened centuries ago but never left his recollection.
"You!" he roared; even his voice was back.
Yet no other words left his mouth.
He was too stunned, too flabbergasted, too afraid to speak.
It was her.
The one and only woman he had loved across the 13 lifetimes.
’Is that a joke? Am I dreaming?’
He asked himself, repeating the question again and again.
Subconsciously, he took steps as well, nearing her, but the closer he got and the longer he watched, the more his jumbled thoughts became chaotic.
Jung was watching a smile—the thing that was never forgotten in his waking or dreaming moments.
It was the most genuine reflection of emotions no one could replicate, and her long red hair was unchanged as if not even time could leave a single mark on it.
"Vani," she said, calling him with a name he hadn’t heard for so long.
Now was his time to call her—to use a name he never thought he would have to.
"Nira, is that really you? The system, and Vex was it you all along?"
Finally, he managed to swallow the bottled emotions.
A simple nod was all he got, along with one more smile.
It was deeper, almost showing her teeth, captivating Jung the same way as before.
Then he remembered the promise he made and the jokes he told about kissing her or Lady Luck.
Feeling embarrassed and nervous, there was no hesitation in his movement.
Reaching her back with his hands, Jung pulled her closer, smooching her lips and cheeks.
Nira, previously a system, didn’t fight back, enjoying the moment.
This sweet, brief moment ended with a hug and her whisper.
"I remember. Everything is clear to me—how I got here, what I did after, or how did I become a system?"
"Goddammit, how I missed you. Is it really possible? I-I wanted to see you one more time. Hug you just like this, hear your voice, feel your touch, and get lost in your smile."
Jung didn’t release her from his hold, squeezing her as if he was afraid she would disappear again.
"I missed you too, my love," Nira’s voice was firm, displaying her affection through her words and hands as she caressed his head.
"Meeting you is a miracle. I prayed and waited for this. It was a long, painful process, but I was hopeful, wishing that this day would come."
Jung still listened to her words, regarding her emotions as his own.
"I was reincarnated just before the first apocalypse hit the world," Nira explained, still holding his hands, putting her head on his shoulders.
"It was the darkest time of humanity, and I was alone and scared, but thinking about you let me endure those hardships. I saw these archetypes as fate playing tricks on us. We loved it so much and spoke about it, thinking about what we would do in our next lives."
"And we would fall for each other in every lifetime," Jung added, fondling her head.
"Exactly. I would love you in every universe," Nira agreed, recognizing their promises.
Their love lasted for centuries, more than one lifetime, and Jung promised to find her as he lived with various archetypes based on the models they created.
It was nothing but a joke they told to each other.
An oath that was a product of the two lovers who wanted to spend every waking moment with each other, but fate didn’t allow it.
Nira died at a young age, illness taking her life.
Jung’s heart was filled with her, and he lived with memories of the time they spent together.
As for the woman, she had to cope in Maskera when every day was a challenge and survival was purely for the strong.
She didn’t give up.
Just as Jung had lived twelve reincarnations, she led her life searching for a way to meet him again.
Their feelings were mutual and eternal, as no time could damage them.
After she refused to yield, she managed to reach Tier XII, amassing the greatest power of her time and saving the world from all the perils.
She then anonymously founded the Arcane Academy—allowing the world to birth more geniuses who could protect the people. freewebnσvel.cøm
But it wasn’t sufficient.
Tier XII was nowhere near enough for her to meet Jung.
Thus, she desired far more than being a peak lover archetype and searched for ways to ascend even further, essentially becoming the very first god who governed her archetype.
It was a joyful occasion that allowed her to peer into the truth of the universe.
Her strength was augmented, and her knowledge, power, and dominance over the world were boosted.
She even got her own realm, which was a miniature world that obeyed her rules.
It could easily turn into a utopia—a perfect world based and built on her ideals.
Still, none of that was enough for her.
The only thing she wanted was to meet him, but actually doing it far surpassed the capabilities of the god itself.
Now all she had to do was evolve—to be a creature that stood above the gods themselves.
It was a hard task, something that no one could accomplish, including her.
But one day, everything had changed.
Suddenly, Nira felt a death.
Even though it wasn’t hers, it hurt way deeper than when she had died.
This was a foreign experience, even for a god who searched and understood almost everything the world had to offer.
So she instantly knew what it was, and clenching her heart, she cried for the first time after arriving on Maskera.
The event that triggered these chaotic emotions was Jung’s death on Earth.
Even if she was in a different galaxy, bound by other rules, she still felt his demise.
Abruptly, something clicked in her.
It wasn’t some basic hidden talent, nor was it a power-up after her sweetheart died.
Instead, she found determination—the helplessness mixed with anger and sadness that fed her already godlike power.
And she developed into Archeon, going beyond one archetype and retaining the planet itself.
Nira was a supreme being, transcending every concept in the world.
One still lingered, and she acted upon it, leaving her status and transforming herself into a system.
Creating her altered legends and forgetting her goals on the way.
But she knew it was well worth it, as she believed Jung would reach her and allow her to regain her memories.
Her gamble paid off, and she managed to ascend to greater power.
She felt Jung’s life force dwelling somewhere far away and pulled on it, allowing and triggering his first reincarnation.
It was the start of his misery but also her happiness as she waited for their meeting.
Nira knew the day would come when they would finally meet each other and even enjoyed watching Jung’s suffering on the sidelines.
As for him, he listened to her story—felt her every bit of emotion and loved her more than ever because of it.
He wanted to say something.
But no words were uttered.
’I am one lucky bitch. Do I even deserve her?’ he asked himself, not judging the part when she explained how much she loved when she saw what he had to endure for their love.
She was somewhat of a sadist, but Jung was no different, and as she shared her passion, he rewarded her with another kiss on her lips.
It lasted longer than the last time, as it was deeper and filled with more affection.
Their understanding was increased, leaving them with pure passion.
Thus, they drowned in a craved warmth and enjoyed every second of it, but, of course, Nero had to show up and flatten their good time.
"What is going on here?" she asked, her voice louder than usual and her face abnormally witty.
She was alone—no player, no other cats were with her, and she approached Jung.
It was impossible to see Nira as her point of view only showed her back, but she managed to catch a glimpse of her, and it was enough to pique her interest.
[Why won’t you go back?]
Nira said in her Vex’s voice, startling Nero even more.
"Who are you?" the cat asked again, quickening her pace. "What are you doing, and why are you touching him?"
[Can’t you tell?] she continued in her teasing manner.
"I am the system, the one you gave a name, Vex. I got my body back, and Jung is my hubby."
A wave of understanding washed over Nero, but her tail moved as if displaying her confusion.
Her wish blossomed.
Jung and Vex had hooked up, but it happened quicker than she had expected.
"Jung, you are so sneaky. How dare you touch her! I thought you had a woman. How dare you play with my bestie! Come here, we have shit to settle."
"Get a hint and kindly fuck off, please!" Jung roared.
With frustration on her face and her paws ready for action, Nero neared them, intending to beat the shit out of Jung.
One swift jump later, she was upon Jung, almost landing on his head, but suddenly, she saw Nira and halted her fighting spirit.
"Wait. I’ve seen you before!"
