Reincarnated Jester: Taming Players-Chapter 128: Darkness For A Light
Chapter 128: Darkness For A Light
How or when Jung hid from their senses, seized the man, and reappeared in the arena was a mystery no one could explain.
Fights between high-tier combatants were fast-paced because of their superior capabilities.
And they lasted longer than any other average battle.
Jung shattered this preconception.
Not only did he take down two Tier XII monstrous entities, but he easily toyed with remaining opponents, bypassing their already superior senses.
The excited and somewhat frightened crowd went nuts.
Screams were heard, resounding in this jammed place.
Some guessed that Jung was the real deal—his loss didn’t seem like a possibility.
In some even more disconcerting cases, people started fawning over him, believing that he would actually save Maskera.
One thing was clear: Jung deserved the spot, and he could truly deal with monsters that threatened the planet.
But the question was, would government officials and other family leaders acknowledge this?
Or would they continue the fight to save face when, in turn, the opposite might happen?
The guy in question gave no fuck about their opinion.
Jung enjoyed the show he created.
Glancing at the poor, struggling fellow in his hand, he didn’t release the guy, but kept him close.
Not to be used as a captive and demand the halting of the fight.
Nor did he plan to bully him for a simple laugh.
Jung wanted more than that.
He was greedy to show his power, his arrogance, and his standing in the world.
Everyone should know that he was the one whose words mattered, whose actions dictated life and death.
To show that no government or puny clans had a say over him.
"You bunch of losers thought you had a shield with your money, fame, and meager strength. But in the face of the greater power, remember that I am a sword that cuts every flesh."
His speech felt cold.
Even his smiling face was unsightly, sending waves of shudders through the mass.
Then he looked at the bald man for the last time.
Jung’s lips quivered, hands trembled wildly, and he choked the man as he raised him to the sky.
He didn’t use his grip strength.
It would end the guy too soon, too quickly.
"Please don’t die just yet. You have a role to fulfill," he whispered softly.
The bald politician struggled, scratching Jung’s face, swinging his body, and crying for help.
As for Jung, he raised the man even higher.
To show the world his might.
To let them know he could do as he pleased.
It was a declaration of power, and seeing that no one moved to take the half-dead, wailing oldies from his hands, Jung knew he was on the right track.
"You had quite strong words to throw at me. Why are you so silent? You may speak now. You have my permission."
He told the guy loudly.
Everyone could hear his mocking tone.
However, there was always a single person who thought their moral compass stood above everyone else’s.
Jung saw fluctuating hues dangling in his direction, threatening to reap his head.
He smirked, not lowering his hand.
As soon as the aggressor arrived, Jung linked him to the politician via White Beard Arc, sharing the pain between them.
As a result, the shaggy man kneeled before him.
The guy wailed in pain and dropped to the ground.
He couldn’t breathe, dying of suffocation as marks appeared on his neck.
There was no contact.
Jung didn’t touch him, but he still lost, which made his power even more evident.
"What a fucking dumbass," he said with disdain.
Looking down at the choked guy, he had no other words to say, and releasing the connection, Jung snapped the neck he was holding.
The distinguished politician died just like that.
In Jung’s hand...
He showed no mercy and killed him instantly.
People roared once again, but his attention was on Nira as the woman started collecting the losing bets.
She appeared gleeful, taking care of money as a charming smile danced across her face.
Nira was the most beautiful woman Jung had ever seen.
Counting the other twelve planets he had lived on, no one could match her beauty and magnificence.
But it wasn’t all.
She was just as weird and off-putting as Jung, hating on people and pranking them constantly with her jokes.
But no matter how stunning she looked, after scamming money out of hundreds of people she reached, not a single one wanted to see her smug face.
Yet Jung wanted to hold her, and who could stop him?
He dropped the bald guy to the ground, winked at his wife, and dashed after her.
Jung was fast, but Nira was quicker to get away from him, so she ran.
He had to race for quite some time, leaving the scene to catch up to her, but after covering enough distance, she didn’t stop, making him run an extra mile.
Finally, she stopped.
It took them at least ten minutes to enjoy the slow jog.
But this jog would easily outmatch Tier XII speed-based warriors.
"What are we doing?" Jung asked.
"Why are you running?" she questioned this time.
He lowered his brows and kissed her on the cheek, forehead, and lips.
"I am running to you," he said. "Do you want me to continue?"
Nira nodded, kissing him back.
"That’s what I wanted. You and me with no other distraction."
She smiled.
Again.
And, as usual, Jung’s heart skipped a beat.
"You saw it, right?" she said. "Me betting on your perfect victory. Those losers really thought you would lose in 1vs6—what a fucking dumbass."
She looked so...flawless, divine, and breathtaking that Jung could listen to her for days.
"I was watching. You are so cheeky."
Unfortunately, time was a luxury they didn’t have, but it was enough for their passion.
With a fire blazing in their hearts, Nira and Jung spent a night together.
It was part of their journey.
It added splendid memories to their experiences, giving them the energy to strive for more.
"It’s becoming a habit. I mean doing it in the wild," Jung said.
"Don’t tell me you don’t like it," she answered, looking at the mountain behind them.
The chilly breeze swept over their naked bodies and brought a fresh scent with it.
Nature approved their deed, and it was time to go back.
Jung blacked out, and opening his eyes one moment later, he was in the academy, in his own room.
It had been exactly a year since he last slept in this chamber.
Nero was with him at that time, keeping him company, but in his honest opinion, the current team partner suited him more.
"We came here to meet my sister. Then we can go straight to the Inbox City and meet your family."
Her words brought happiness.
Jung hurried down the stairs, rushing to finish the business as soon as possible.
His mind darted eagerly.
As per tradition, he didn’t knock on Lilia’s office and stormed inside uninvited.
"Where have you been?" the principal asked, her voice being full of animosity. "The meeting ended quite a while ago."
"We had some business to attend to," he joked, winking at her.
Shaking her head, Lilia coughed.
"It was a success. You did a pretty good job teaching them who is a boss."
Her words caught Jung off guard.
"I didn’t expect you to praise me for it. You should have scolded and yelled at me for making your job harder."
He paused for a while, scrutinizing her.
"What about that dumb politician I killed? Why aren’t you getting angry? There is no backlash?" he continued.
Lilia stood up from her seat.
She left her luxurious table and strolled into her office.
"You don’t look like someone who underestimates his influence. Why are you acting like that? Don’t tell me... You wanted to see me throw a fit."
It didn’t take too much of her brainpower to guess what he had in mind.
Now that his intentions lay bare before her, Jung understood his position and came clean.
"I am sorry, my dear sister-in-law. I wanted to tease you for a bit," he said but, changed his expression right after.
"We did everything to help this world get ready for the apocalypse. I see no obligation to nanny them any further. Our job is done here, and we are leaving."
He stated strongly.
Jung’s objective was to spend the remaining four days with his family, and as he did everything in his power, there was no need to waste more time.
It seemed Lilia shared his view.
"We are on the same page. You two deserve some rest. Go ahead and play as much as you want. But our next meeting will be on a battlefield. Until then, I have some matters to attend to."
She said, exiting the office.
"My little sister is so grown up," Nira jested. "I remember you being a crybaby, but look at you now, leading and protecting the world. I am proud of you, sis."
Her last words sounded genuine, making the stoic principal smile cheerfully.
She quickly hid her reaction and nodded.
"Now, let’s go to the Inbox City!" Jung announced upon seeing Lilia’s departing figure.
"What about part of the quest you completed?" she asked and doubled down with a system message.
[You killed the Everyman archetype human.]
[You met the requirements to unleash the said archetype.]
[Congrats, you have gained the Everyman archetype.]
"Good. Good!" Jung said and clenched his fist to feel the increased pressure in his blood flow.
One additional archetype increased his overall strength even further, but his mind was still fixated on getting back to his home.
Nira read his thoughts and hugged him, enveloping Jung with darkness to take him to his desired place.
