Chapter 24: Chapter 24: Mystica of Death: Souls Revive

The place was littered with foot steps, as they passed. They saw aftermaths of battles all over the place. They walked for 30 minutes without encountering a single fallen, but they have seen bold trails from time to time, the lack of corpses indicated that they were packed inside a space bag treasure.

Ahhhhhhh!!....bam!

Suddenly a scream reignited their vigilance, then a body dropped down from one of the trees. "One down" Suddenly a cold voice sounded at the back of the line, everyone quickly checked, only to find Alex was the one who said it. The group felt their stomachs churn when they saw that look on his face.

"Did the Chief Commander ever say what we should do with the bodies of the spies?" He spoke as if he was talking about a house utensil, no emotion whatsoever. "Hell man, how did you know he was there? We hardly detected anything coming from that branch?"

Marcel asked, The thought of undetectable killers waiting stealthily on top of his head without even noticing was unsettling to him. Suddenly the shadows underneath them started to act unnatural, in no time 20 meters radius darkness painted itself around them. "Within this radius, you could consider me invisible. I can detect every single living being. Be it bug or insect, they are in my mercy. So it is eas..." Suddenly he extended his arm out and clasped it. An arrow appeared in his hand a few inches away from Marcel’s head.

"W.. hey what is that... ? Marcel fell backwards. When he turned to look, it was a fallen, it would appear one slipped past the group who went ahead. Marcel stood up, just as he was about to charge at the fallen, a hand stretched out. He looked who it was, Bruce looked at him and slowly shook his head, then gestured to him to look again.

When Marcel turned, the Fallen was starting to turn incorporeal. "Spirit summon Mystica, One of the top 5 Mystica Types!!?" Marcel’s eye almost bulged out his head. He turned to Alex. "Thank you for saving my life". To which Alex nodded and started walking forward. His demeanour has changed once more.

It was as if he had turned into a predator looking for his prey. "Why does it appear as though he changes the moment someone or something threatens his life?" Trister asked, She remembered vividly what happened when those two jumpers tried to ambush them. Alex turned from an innocent kid into a heartless killer.

"Follow him, his scouting abilities will help us navigate this forest from danger and he could be the shield against any more surprise attacks." Bruce said as he walked forward to catch up. As they walked they realised something. With closer inspection it appears that there’s more human to human action than there is Human to Fallen.

"Think the Chief Commander knows we are losing Jumpers?" Trister asked. " He knows too well, that’s why he told us to kill them. This is more than just a fight with the fallen, other countries are trying to use this change to weaken us further"

Alex narrowed his eyes as he listened to the conversation of his companions. "Question for group leader" Suddenly it got silent, everyone curious about the question Alex wanted to ask. "Can your death work on Summoned spirits?" "Yes. Death has no exemption. Before death all is equal, why do you ask?"

"Nothing much, I’m glad to know our new friends could still expect your most welcomed hospitality" Suddenly dozens of Fallen manifested from nothingness. From the looks of it, they were special type 4 to type 6. A team of well coordinated special types. The thought brought a chill on Marcel and Trister.

Alex looked at it as though a child looking at animals in the zoo. Bruce was unreactive as always. "One thing I hate about summoners, They could fight from a distance, talk about cowards" Bruce suddenly said. He then walked in front.

Mystica of Death: Souls Revive

Suddenly dark ashes started to rush off Bruce, they filled the ground like small graves. Alex looked with intensity not wanting to miss a scene. Suddenly hands, paws, razor sharp talons and all other kinds of limps stuck out, the dark ashes started to build bodies of the creatures in the graves.

"He’s a summoner too!?" Alex asked with his jaw almost touching the floor. "He is not just a Summoner, He is ranked to be number 1 in the continent because of how versatile his power is. He rarely ever uses Soul Revive though, he never got a worthy opponent who he could use this skill on" Trister explained with excitement in her voice.

"I should feel honored then, for a child of death to consider me worthy enough to use his most powerful attack" Suddenly out of the bush walked out a middle aged man with dark hair with some grey coming out of it. "She said I don’t normally use this skill, she never said anything about it being my strongest.. You are still arrogant as ever ...Santra Malsas" Both Marcel and Trister were shook to the core when they heard that name.

Alex raised his brow also. This wasn’t his first time hearing that name. Santra Malsas. In his time his powers were kept secret... Then he was just a bagger on the street, but he was fortunate to suddenly be pulled in by his Mystica when his genes activated. Once a zoologist, it makes sense that he did break a record as a returner from a Dimension of understating animal behavior

’It appears that he took his time to grow because his power depends more on the souls of his victims than his actual level, still even with that analisis, something feels off, he should be strong right now. Am I missing something’

As Alex was deep in thought, what Bruce said clarifies everything," Done cause mass human soul experiments? You evil bastard. You have been given your powers to fight for humanity but you turn around and massacre entire settlements for your twisted pursuits for knowledge?"

"I never knew death could be sentimental for life. You should be thanking me for doing half your job, your lazy bastard. What’s wrong with me killing a few nomies huh, at least their death will serve humanity, they should be thankful for being useful for one. But hey, their death wasn’t in vain"

Suddenly a few more incorporeal spirits revealed themselves till they became physical. The group’s eyes got wider when they saw what was happening before them. "So Bruce I ask you, do you think these spirits of jumpers could still use their Mystica?" A twisted look appeared on his face as he asked that question.

Boom!

Chaos shadow spear emerged right under him. He didn’t get a chance to react. A moment later in his place was a huge pillar with a pointy top. The gang’s shoulders seem to relax a bit. A second passed but the summons seems to not be disappearing. "Tsk, Tsk, Tsk, how rude" One of the jumpers charged forward, his body suddenly set ablaze. Alex walked forth, The jumper suddenly glowed brighter before exploding, Alex erected a chaotic shadow wall in time.

"As I thought. A cowards could never come to the frontline" Bruce said. "Enough talk" Santra said as he sent the rest of the spirits to attack....

Mystica of Element: Hammer Creation,,

Mystica of Motion: Acceleration

Alex wrapped his body with chaos shadow armor then brought out Mouha. The team launched forth without wasting a second. 5 Jumper souls and a dozen fallen spirits. Bruce’s Soul Revival helped even out the playing field. Alex went straight for the Jumpers. Slashing them down one after another. Trister punching holes and taking out limps while Marcel pummeled them to smitherins . The battle seems to be going their way for a moment.

"What is dead can never be killed again" Santra said as the spirits revived as good as new. And went back for another round. " You are running out of the allotted Mystica energy though, there’s more of us here to bring you down and our combined attack will leave you dry .

"Hahahaha, Naive as ever, Who told you I came alone, my team is waiting for you to tire yourselves out then we shall begin the slaughter, Our target being you. If I add you in my collection, I will be known as the strongest summoner on this continent." "So that’s how it is, time to finish this"

Spiritual Eyes

When Santra looked at Alex’s eye he felt the souls within his collection cry out in fear. The manifested one quickly changed their attacks from everyone else and focused solely on him.

Chaos shadow: Thorn Forest

The ground suddenly blacked out then thousands of spears shot up, taking down the summons. Santra tried calling back on them to revive them but he felt a tug. His control on them was loosening up.

Alex then raised his hands. Raising up the Summons,

"Invisible or Visible, A soul is a soul, now yield to me" With that sentence the souls lost their form and became pure light, which went straight into his mouth. Everyone watching this was shocked by the events taking place.
