There was an enemy only 150 meters away from me. He was slapping at his legs with one hand and waving his net with another, but all this flailing killed less than a dozen bees at most.

Each of them was precious in her own way, so the guy was going down.

He was thoroughly distracted and already stung a bit—his health was at 〔92/95〕.

I saw the target and saw no obstacles.

"Charge!" I shouted, flying toward the man's upper torso.

He was so focused on slapping other bees that I could easily land on the man's back, right on the collar of his tunic.

From this close, the stench of him hit me like a sledgehammer. Sweat was pouring from under cracks between the man's neck chitin plates. Entire buckets of sweat that mixed with other grime which this man must've picked on his way to Hive Rich.

I grimaced.

'Or maybe he washes only once a week and the last time was six days ago. I should've approached the man's face instead.'

"How disgusting," a Beemarine bodyguard muttered behind my back.

"Quiet!" Destroyer snapped. "We will kill these monsters without complaints and cleanse our territory!"

"That's right. Yuck… Let's do it quickly. Cover my back!"

With this, I crawled at the guy's stinky neck, slipping on the sweat–should've left myself larger claws to help–then spread my feet wide and stabbed him with my stinger, which easily pierced the thin chitin.

〔You deal 87 damage. The target is poisoned!〕

There was a yelp from above, and the sweaty chitin under my feet shook.

I gasped and pulled back as far as I could before I was squished by something, leaving my stinger behind.

Just in time—the next second, the man clapped both his hands over his neck and began falling to the ground. His mandible-jaws twitched helplessly, and if I was any judge, the yelp I heard earlier would be his last.

As he was falling, the last 5 health points of the man had dwindled.

"The giant falls!" some soldier shouted a few dozen meters below—one of those that weren't hurriedly getting away before they got crushed.

Her shouts were echoed by others.

"Praise Father!"

"The Stingprince stings true!"

"Yes!"

With a shaking of earth, the giant fell fully. Two closest people immediately rushed to his side, trying to help, but…

〔The human dies!〕

He was already limp and still.

The cheer of my daughters was contagious.

"Yes! This is your father, and he's damn cool! Who's next, buggers?!"

"Father," Destroyer called out. "Look to the left! What… What is this?! Those fires…"

I did, and my cheer dimmed immediately.

The two humans that were slow to join their comrades earlier have finally finished preparing.

Now they carried flaming torches.

"Shit."

These torches weren't normal torches, of course. There wasn't enough wood in this entire forest to make them, probably. Those were stone batons, the top of which was wrapped with a large amount of cloth. The latter had to be soaked in something flammable—oil, probably.

'I wonder where local humans take so much plant fiber for clothing. It can't be from trees, can it? I want that source, too. Ah, shit, this is a wrong thing to think about! These buggers are going to wave these torches at us, and we don't have heat damage immunity!'

I turned to Destroyer. A plan already appeared in my head.

"Send someone to Bloodimina and tell her I want our soldiers to stay as far from the torches—the flaming things—as possible. Only attack if they can get from behind these guys."

Destroyer collected herself and pointed at one of her subordinates.

"You—pass the message. And what about us, Father?"

"And we will make sure these guys won't give trouble to our forces in the meantime. We only need to win a bit of time!"

This was true.

With the first dead person, the morale of others began visibly wavering. There were more ear-rupturing shouts, and the enemy was so distracted that our Beemarines finally got to two more.

As I flew toward the torch-bearers, these two fell to the ground, convulsing. Their health was down to a half, and still decreasing as more bees stung them.

The torch-bearers were running toward the rest of the group, waving their torches where they could see bees.

"HEY, BASTARDS!" I shouted, waving my spear and flying right in front of them.

I was close enough that I felt the first hint of the flame's heat on my face.

The humans noticed me and my colorful armor. Like I hoped, they slowed down and exchanged words.

Did they recognize me as the ruler of the Bee Empire and the leader of their enemies? I couldn't be sure, but their eyes focused on me and they charged forward with new intent.

I dashed back, leading them away from their comrades while they screamed and died. A few steps later, one torch-bearer slowed down and stopped, looking back and forth between me and his friends; but the other kept following, shouting something angrily.

"YEAH, YOU TOO!" I shouted back. "AND YOUR MOM IS A WHORE WHO ATE MORE DICKS THAN THERE ARE IN MY ENTIRE EMPIRE!"

The man couldn't have understood my words, but he still ran faster!

And with the length of his legs, it took him almost no time to catch up with me and my bodyguards.

"Father!" Destroyer shouted in alarm when the man raised his torch for a swing.

However, I only laughed.

"Look around, Destroyer! We got him just in the right place!"

I wasn't leading the humans in any random direction.

They were running right toward Hive Rich and the ballistas waiting there. And although now we were uncomfortably close to all the bees hiding inside, we were also in ballistas' range.

"AIM AND FIRE!" I shouted, leading my group toward the ground before we got shot or burned.

A second later, a volley of 500 arrows flew toward the torch-bearer, making him stop in shock!
