Reincarnated With A Glitched System: Why Is My MP Not Running Out?-Chapter 1960: Preparing For The Dungeons
-----
The next morning arrived, and we decided to prepare for the journey to the dungeons. While eating breakfast, I reviewed the list of dungeons we planned to visit.
- The Goo Farm Dungeon
- The Blind Fish Dungeon
- The Swamp Shrimp Dungeon
- The Dark Savanna Dungeon
- The Glacial Caves Dungeon 𝐟𝚛𝕖𝚎𝕨𝗲𝐛𝚗𝐨𝐯𝐞𝕝.𝐜𝗼𝗺
- The Burning Forest Dungeon
- The Poison Swamp Dungeon
- The Stone Cathedral Dungeon
- And the Insect Nest Dungeon
Beyond these were the higher-level dungeons:
- The Giant Beast Dungeon
- The Underwater Abyss Dungeon
- The Volcanic Hellscape Dungeon
- The Aberrant Jungle Dungeon
- And the Underground Tower Dungeon
Finally, the most dangerous of all: the Dragon Tomb Dungeon, where the highest concentration of darkness—and this curse—originated.
The plan was straightforward. We would clear these dungeons within a week or two, then join our parents in tackling the strongest ones. The goal was to weaken the curse by cleansing the darkness from the dungeons while searching for its true source so we could destroy it once and for all.
From what I could tell, this curse stemmed from the power of an Evil God who harbored deep resentment toward us... or, more specifically, toward me.
Yes, me. I hadn’t understood why the entity was targeting me until I remembered something crucial about the form this curse took.
Insects... spiders... creepy crawlies.
And who was the one we fought who wielded the most power over such creatures? Which Evil Goddess had we battled before, the one whose abilities had nearly cost us all our lives?
That very goddess, whom we managed to drive off in the end—thanks in large part to my help—and from whom I took a massive bite before she fled.
Yup. It might be her.
Now the question was: why was she doing this? I had hoped she would simply run away, hide somewhere, abandon her attempts to torture or devour humans, and find another way to exist.
But I suppose I had underestimated the stubbornness of gods—especially evil ones—and the hold their own nature has over them.
Armageddon told me yesterday, during our conversation, that Evil Gods possess "Natures." These natures are intrinsically tied to their identity and powers. They cannot act against their own nature. If they ever do, it only happens after they come close to death—or die completely, as Armageddon did. She was later revived under a new nature and authority, which allowed her to grow beyond her former self.
This Evil Goddess, however, is not like that. The one who carries such intense, resentful hatred toward me has not undergone a similar near-death transformation. Although I took a huge bite out of her using the power of my own curse, it wasn’t enough to destroy her.
Now, like a ghost from my past, she has returned to torment us. Through her curse, she is trying to kill everyone here in order to fuel her own growth.
She is likely using the curse to absorb and devour the souls of the infected as they slowly die. After all, it is a powerful curse that targets the soul itself—something no ordinary medicine could ever heal.
That is why the only way to completely eliminate this curse is to locate its origin and destroy it. I have also noticed that the miasma emanating from the dungeons is deeply connected to the curse. Cleansing all of it would significantly weaken the curse overall.
I shared this information with my mother, who then developed this plan—which I had also suggested to her. That said, it wasn’t part of my original idea to be assigned the smaller, weaker dungeons!
While our parents take on the hardest dungeons, which have grown even more dangerous after becoming infected, we, the younger heroes, will handle the smaller, weaker ones.
Yes, it is frustrating. It even feels as though we are being underestimated. But when I think about it more deeply, our parents love us deeply and simply don’t want us risking our lives.
Even though we have been forced, time and again, to fight for our survival, to defend our country against countless threats...
There isn’t much I can say beyond "beggars can’t be choosers," but that thought is still frustrating.
I am already an adult, yet I always feel as though I have little freedom in my decisions. My parents—and all our parents—are far too overbearing.
However, once we enter the Academy, I believe I can finally start building my own life. The Academy will come with many responsibilities, but it will also offer countless opportunities that I intend to seize.
I am no longer someone who must simply obey those in greater authority. I am an adult, and I am strong. I have tried to remain humble and cooperative this entire time, and I will continue to do so—but as Aquarina often tells me, I also need to stand up for myself and make my own decisions.
To speed up the dungeon-conquering process, we will divide and conquer. While our parents planned their strategies for the high-difficulty dungeons, my friends and I gathered in my room, and I took the lead on our operation.
"I guess we’ll divide and conquer then, huh? I figured as much. Going all together to a small dungeon—no matter how strong it has become—would be a waste of time," Celeste said, nodding.
"Yeah. That’s why I’ve already decided on the teams," I replied. "Plus, I’ll send a Spiritual Clone with each group to assist, support, and monitor you. If anything extremely dangerous happens, I’ll know immediately and can respond."
"Spiritual Clones...?" Mist raised an eyebrow. "What do you mean by that?"
"You can make them too?!" Lara asked. Suddenly, she split into three additional versions of herself, each formed from the surrounding World Spirits and sharing her consciousness.
"Wow," I muttered. "First of all, I had no idea you could do that, Lara. That’s incredible. Second, mine aren’t like yours. They’re more like this."
I opened my palm and conjured a small creature resembling a fairy-sized version of myself.
"Oh my gosh! Mini Sylphyyyyyy!" Aquarina almost squealed. "It’s like the one I made once that... exploded."
"Hahaha! Yeah, the last time we talked in that dream, I got a Mini Aquarina from you," I said. "So I reverse-engineered the spell while analyzing her before she disappeared and found a way to create these Spirit Clones. They last about 24 hours and come equipped with several of my Aura Abilities to provide buffs, healing, barriers, and more."
"That’s amazing, sis, but isn’t this a bit much?" Zephy asked. "I don’t want to rely on you so heavily... I want to stand on my own too!"
"I know, my dear brother," I said with a smile. "They’re mainly communicators so we can stay in contact, always know where everyone is, and chat about what we’re seeing. They aren’t very strong at all, so don’t worry—they won’t overshadow your efforts. They’re just there so I can be with you in spirit."
"Fine... if it’s just that, then it’s alright," he said, nodding with a small smile. "So what are the teams?"
"We’ll go in pairs," I explained. "Aquarina and I will each go alone, though—we’re simply too strong for the smaller ones."
"Yeah, I wanted to fight alongside you, Sylphy, but after seeing what you did against your brother, I realized I’d only slow you down when clearing these small dungeons quickly," she said. "We can team up again once we move on to the stronger, larger areas with everyone."
"Yep!" I nodded. "I’m glad we can agree on this, Aquarina. Anyway, these are the teams I’ve decided on after careful consideration."
