Reincarnated With the World Domination System-Chapter 26: Villainess’ Grace
Chapter 26 - Villainess' Grace
Alexandra walked to the jagged edge of the shattered window.
I was too harsh on the brat. What was I thinking when I set up this arena? A fall from the seventieth floor could mentally cripple him. Did I weigh the risks, or did I charge ahead on emotion again?
She sighed and looked down, but saw no chaos on the street below.
People continued with their day, some gathering behind the barricades to watch the so called hotel suite attack and trade whispers.
Police and soldiers guided guests outside and carried the wounded.
The military deployed superhumans who were inching floor by floor to retake the hotel from the villain.
Where was Rael?
His mangled corpse should have horrified every synthetic onlooker by now.
A smile tugged at Alexandra's lips when she realized Rael had lived.
Nice work, Rael. Did you see your allies down there?
The soldiers climbing toward the seventieth floor were his true trump card.
They could rescue the hostages and defeat the villain in his place.
Because this was only a virtual trial, Alexandra would concede as soon as the unit burst onto the top floor.
Until then, Rael had to stall her before she caused real harm.
"If you don't come up here, I'll start killing them one by one!" Alexandra shouted into the slicing wind. "I'll begin with the mobile hostages just to give you some extra work!"
Screams rose behind her, yet she held her chin high and waited for the hero's reply.
Moments later, quick footfalls echoed from the corridor.
Something on four legs bounded through the splintered doors, zigzagging among cracked pillars.
Here you are in your little lion mode.
Remaining at the window would let her hurl Rael outside again, and she still wanted to know how he had survived.
Yet the cub stayed clear of her reach.
Smart.
Alexandra strolled to the center of the room with a villainess's catlike grace, her aura menacing and her beauty lethal.
She spread her arms as if welcoming a dance, reminding Rael that her patience was short.
"If you won't face me, I'll start with that woman first," Alexandra said.
The taunt worked, and the steel lion veered toward her at full sprint.
She relaxed into her stance, but the cub cut right and melted back into the shadows.

Annoyed, she unleashed a wave of feral intent and barked his name.
Before she could finish a threat, the lion reappeared at the broken window, daring her to fling him out again.
She accepted gladly, lowering into her famous punch.
The lion shot forward.
Haven't you thought of anything better? I still believe in you, Rael.
He seemed to have learned nothing and even thought he could beat her.
A heartbeat before her fist could meet his muzzle, a surge of magical power washed over her from behind.
The wave latched onto the lion and turned him into a rocket.
He flew so fast that Alexandra had to splay her fingers and catch him instead of punching.
She glanced back and spotted a boy no older than six sending three lightning bolts past her to anchor on the Steel Lion.
Using the lion as a tether, the kid reeled himself in, fist first.
Those eyes! So that's your true face, Rael. No wonder the lion's eyes differ from yours. You can split from your armor and animate it!
"You're still getting ahead of yourself if you think you can handle me, Rael!" Alexandra roared.
BANG!
Her left hand caught Rael's punch and stopped him cold.
His eyes shone with pure excitement, and she felt a thrill at whatever else he had planned.
Four magnetic strands whipped from Rael's gauntlet, two linking to Shiran, and with a burst of magical power he rooted them both to the floor.
Consequently, Alexandra also became rooted to the ground.
"Come," Rael whispered.
Two broken steel bars shot from behind the pillars, skewering the supports while bringing them down.
The bars clanged onto his gauntlet while the collapsing pillars blocked the only doorway.
Alexandra saw no hostages in sight.
Rael and Shiran clamped her hands with all their strength, and her body could not budge without throwing them off.
"Our plan went flawlessly," Rael said. "Shiran wasn't just running around. He weakened the pillars so I could drop them with a single move. My partner's math was perfect. From this spot I could seal the entrance without wrecking the floor's frame. We win."
"Haha!" Alexandra laughed. "That's satisfying. How did you convince the hostages to move and carry the wounded?"
"I made them hold hands and cooperate. Not very heroic, but I never asked to be a hero. You forced that on me," Rael replied with a grin.
She smiled back, though still looking down on him.
"Next time we play, you'll take the villain's role. Let me give you a taste," she said.
Hands pinned, Alexandra straightened, raised her right leg to her stomach, and stomped with full force.
The floor shattered, opening a maw that swallowed all three of them.
The hole was deep only because she blasted through several more floors.
While falling, she caught a protruding metal bar and swung herself to solid ground.
Above, Rael clung to a nearby bar as Shiran melted into his flesh.
"Can you stop me from reaching the stairs and killing every hostage at once?" Alexandra asked.
For a moment she sounded like a real villain.
Then red laser dots flashed across her face.
Soldiers below aimed rifles that could sap strength, speed, and even magical power.
The army had arrived, and every barrel pointed at her.
Alexandra sighed. This is why I'm not a Colonel of Conquest.
She had lost at her own game.

This Chapter was from Alexandra's perspective. Let me know what you think about this change. I personally felt i'd be better to write more about her and her perspective suited better. Can you tell what Rael exactly did while seeing things with Alexandra's eyes? Share in comments. And as usual, the deal still stands. I'm still waiting for the first donation!
