Reincarnated With the World Domination System-Chapter 29: Potential
Chapter 29 - Potential
I'll explain it to you, Shiran.
Rael was so excited about the combined potential of Command Genesis' Strength Core and his Gauntlet of the Maker that he eagerly explained the idea that had come to him to his new partner.
What the Commander said is right. My current power focuses mostly on my right fist thanks to the increased output from the Gauntlet of the Maker. She gave me the idea that I could turn my left hand into a Gauntlet of the Maker as well.
[Aye! More power! Epic double!]
But she does not know this innate ability connects to another gift of mine. The Maker's Core. I put steel parts into my gauntlet. It is like a furnace, a blacksmith's smithy in my hand. If I expand the Gauntlet of the Maker, I will have two furnaces, but that is not my goal. I want to spread this ability through my whole body and turn every part of me into one huge furnace.
[Epic!]
I will evolve so much with this. I will manufacture a lot of steel faster and enhance my entire body. I carry a heavy burden when I absorb steel parts. In fact, I cannot move. If I evolve this ability properly, I might use outside steel as fuel to strengthen myself as well. This idea thrills me. Your thoughts, Dominica.
[I have run simulations. Lord Rael's concept is highly possible. My congratulations on conceiving this idea, Lord Rael. Will you spend EXP on it?]
I do not have much EXP left. With my upgraded knowledge of Steelborns and my experience with them, I believe I can decipher the magical schema of my gauntlet and Command Genesis' Strength Core on my own.
[As you wish, Lord Rael.]

[Good luck, Lord Rael!]
Thanks.
Rael's excitement faded when Alexandra's smile broadened.
She reminded him that they would watch a replay of their battle in the hotel suite, then run a few more simulations until one of them ran out of options.
Bummed for a few seconds, Rael swallowed his bitterness and treated this part of the training as an appetizer for what was to come.
Additionally, Dominica had reminded him that he had not used everything in his battle against the Commander.
Thanks to his new idea, he understood her now.
He had a few means to surprise the Commander.
This led Rael to spend the next few days battling Alexandra without learning more about Command Genesis' Strength Core or practicing with it.
...
It had been two weeks, and the afternoon was typical.
Rael ate dinner with everyone, then Ali covertly told him to follow him out of the orphanage.
Ever since the two began working closely, even their bunk beds felt unsafe for sharing secrets, at least to Ali.
Ali swallowed hard.
"I think Sister Sophia will not hold out much longer."
"Why?" Rael asked, his heart hammering in his chest.
"She keeps trying to convert others into soldiers, but they refuse because of the video we showed everyone. Yesterday, Peter told her, 'I'll think about it,' and then he suddenly started crying. I asked him about it, and he said he saw demon eyes in Sister Sophia and could not stop the tears," Ali explained, his face contorted.
Peter was an orphan even younger than Rael.
It was too hard for him to endure everything alone, so he spoke with others and eventually Ali.
Many orphans knew what he had witnessed, which was why most youngsters fled to the junkyard instead of going to their rooms after dinner.
"Let's head to the junkyard as well. It is time our guardian awakened," Rael said.
He understood that the kids needed hope, and the guardian he had promised would be the best answer.
Ali understood too.
He beamed, eager to witness Rael's power, which he had believed in from the start.
The pair sprinted to the junkyard and slipped into their hidden base.
Other kids were already there, including Peter.
The little one had cried so much that his nose and eyes were red.
Even now, tiny tears clung to the corners of his eyes.
Everyone looked intently at Rael and Ali, the linchpins of their group.
"Let it all out, Peter. Don't hold back or feel embarrassed about your tears. We all understand. I'll punch anyone who doesn't!" Rael said.
[Alexandra von Karmesinthal has influenced Lord Rael a lot. He now wants to punch his fellow orphans.]
"You didn't have to say it like that!"
[I am absorbing data, Lord Rael. Please do not mind my phrasing. You ordered me not to hide anything about my self-development. You want me to grow genuinely alongside you.]
"Yeah, I know..."
Bickering with Dominica was not what Rael should be doing, so he dismissed her comments and told everyone to step outside.
He gave Peter a light pat on the back and smiled at him, which worked even better than expected.
The little one brightened and forced a brave smile to show everyone he was okay.
It seemed many orphans wholeheartedly believed in Rael, which filled him with fresh power.
He clenched his hands and stepped forward.
"We'll awaken our guardian," Rael said, standing before a steel shell the size of a small car, a manufactured, strengthened, and polished work of art that did not belong to the junkyard.
He extended his hand and channeled his magical power.
"Awaken, Steelborn Tortoise."
[Your divine talent has temporarily awakened.]
[You have shared a part of your soul with the Steelborn Tortoise.]
[The Steelborn Tortoise is awakening.]
