Reincarnation in the 60s: My Spatial Supermarket Brings Forth Wealth-Chapter 362 - 360: Fury
"How is the third brother doing now? Doesn’t he know what’s happening here?" Cuihua couldn’t help but ask.
Although she knew that even if the third brother knew, there was nothing he could do. He couldn’t get out of bed, was hospitalized, and left his child at home for Xiao Fang, a half-grown child, to look after.
"He doesn’t know! Your third brother is still in the hospital! Yingying is taking care of him, and he can’t even get out of bed. Eating, drinking, and everything else are done on the hospital bed. Yingying is already having a hard time, we can’t let them be even more worried! After your father’s condition worsened, I gave all the money I had to the health clinic, asking them for help, but they didn’t have any good solutions. They could only administer nutritional drugs daily, and those... I don’t even know what they are, supposedly medicine to control the deterioration of his condition. They suggested transferring him to the county hospital, but I... I don’t have enough money for that either, and I also gave some money to Yongsheng for his hospitalization, so..." Li Xiuying found it hard to speak openly in front of her granddaughter’s husband, Zhang Yuan.
Cuihua’s eyes were filled with anger. Lin Xue had already gone out to find a doctor, and with the child asleep, Zhang Yuan couldn’t walk away, so he had been listening there all along. Hearing this, he couldn’t hold back anymore and spoke up.
"Grandma, you should have called us the moment you found out about anything! We should have been informed when Little Uncle broke his leg!"
Lin Daliang disagreed, "Xiao Yuan! Your grandma is old and confused! Let’s not blame her now! It’s more important to solve this issue quickly!"
Lin Daliang could understand. Her son broke his leg, her husband had a stroke, and as a little old lady who had spent her whole life in the countryside and rarely left home, it was already commendable for her to think of calling her daughters for help.
"Alright!" Zhang Yuan nodded. He wasn’t really blaming anyone. His heart ached for his grandmother, who must be feeling so helpless on her own when both of her sons aren’t taking responsibility.
Lin Xue quickly discussed with the doctor, arranging for the health center to send a doctor and a vehicle to take Grandpa to the county hospital. Having a doctor accompany them on the road would also be safer.
After everything was agreed upon, the health center began preparations. It wasn’t easy to arrange a vehicle; they waited till dusk before everything was sorted out. 𝒻𝘳ℯℯ𝑤ℯ𝒷𝘯ℴ𝓋ℯ𝘭.𝑐ℴ𝑚
Cuihua breathed a little sigh of relief only after Grandpa Wang was loaded onto the ambulance to the county hospital. She held her mother’s hand to stop her from following and helped Lin Daliang onto the vehicle.
"Daliang, you go with Dad to the hospital and take good care of him. We’ll follow later! Let Xiao Shan go with him!"
Lin Daliang understood what his wife intended, but he didn’t plan to stop her. Instead, he instructed Lin Chuan, who was standing aside, "Take care of your mom! Don’t let anyone bully her!"
The tall and handsome young man, having grown to over six feet, coolly nodded, "Dad, don’t worry! I won’t let Mom get involved!"
Lin Daliang still felt uneasy, "Xiao Xue! You go with your mom too. Xiao Shan is here, it will be fine. You can come later!"
Lin Xue sighed, supporting her forehead. Her dad was trying to find reinforcements for her mom, preparing for a group confrontation, but she had the same thought. Xiao Shan would handle things on Grandpa’s side, so there wouldn’t be any problems, but with her mom looking so aggressive, she feared something might happen, so she had to join.
So, Zhang Yuan drove the car, picking up his grandma and mother, and Lin Chuan followed in another car. By the time they reached the Fifth Team, it was already dark.
They didn’t go directly to confront anyone but went back to Grandma’s house first. The house was naturally a mess, with leftovers left long enough to mold because they hurried to the health center without time to clean up.
The two aunts hadn’t even come by at all.
"Grandma, pack up what you need to bring. We’re going to the Capital City and not coming back! Bring Little Uncle’s family along too! Don’t hold onto this place anymore!" Lin Xue stepped forward. She knew Grandma’s previous reluctance was due to her concerns over her sons and their well-being if they left.
But now it’s different. Sons who don’t even care whether their father lives or dies are not worth being concerned about anymore.
"Alright!" Li Xiuying nodded. That afternoon, they had taken her out for a decent meal, restoring some of her strength and spirit.
The old lady, staying alone to care for her husband, neither ate nor slept well, compounded by anger and worry, her eyes swollen from crying. It would be surprising if she weren’t distressed.
Cuihua helped her mom tidy up the house, taking important documents and leaving the messy clothes and bedding behind. She’d replace it all with new stuff once they got to the Capital City.
With this sorted, the group drove to Big Uncle Wang Junsheng’s house.
Though it was summer and nights fell late, it was now dark, past eight o’clock. Driving two luxury cars through the village naturally aroused curiosity, prompting villagers to come out and see.
When both cars parked in front of Wang Junsheng’s house, villagers familiar with the situation guessed: the daughter who made it big in Capital City came back, and this was about settling scores.
Villagers who had heard about Grandpa Wang’s hospitalization and saw his sons continuing with their work at home were curious and asked if he had recovered.
Both gave evasive answers, clearly hiding something.
Now, it seemed those two despicable beings must have done something wrong.
Curious villagers were drawn to watch the drama unfold. As Cuihua got out of the car, fuming with anger, speculations stirred amongst them.
Cuihua couldn’t be bothered with the growing crowd. She stormed into the yard angrily, shouting, "Wang Junsheng, Feng Minghua, get out here!"
Her transformation over the years had been significant — free from oppression and exploitation, with broadened experiences and exposure to different circles. Spending prolonged time with Lin Xue had subtly altered her character.
Lin Xue quickly calmed her daughter who was in tow, instructing Zhang Yuan to lock the car doors before following her mother.
Trailing behind, Zhang Yuan and Lin Chuan joined them, as Grandma Li Xiuying also alighted and gradually followed, determined to understand why her sons had abandoned their father at the health clinic.
"Wang Junsheng, Feng Minghua, you two beasts, get out here, do you hear me?" Seeing no response, Cuihua shouted again, already pacing to the center of the yard.
Wang Junsheng was at the doorway, peeking through the crack, hesitant to face her.
He was delighted his sister had returned, certain their father could be saved, yet fearful she would hold him accountable for neglecting their father, pondering alternatives.
Feng Minghua stood behind him, equally hesitant, fearing her sister-in-law might harm her for devising the plan.
The present-day sister-in-law was far from the timid one of the past. With her current affluence came a stronger temper, reasoning was futile.
"Wang Junsheng, you beast, a worthless creature, get out here! Your mother gave birth to you, not your wife! You heartless thing! Your father’s in critical condition, and you’re hiding away? What’s your pathetic existence for? Such a beast should simply die!"
Cuihua had suppressed her hatred towards her two brothers all afternoon, now boiling over.
The health center doctor had informed her that had there been no delays, her father’s condition wouldn’t have deteriorated, with good chances of recovery. The more she listened, the angrier she grew, desiring to personally confront her brothers.
Once confronted, they dared to hide. Enraged, she moved to kick the door down.
