Chapter 1460: Fang’s Request

Fang reached into his ring and produced the ore samples Ellina had selected, holding them out for William to see. "We’re developing flying weapons using your special spears as the foundation. To maximise their power, we want to integrate ores from the Higher Realm into the forging process."

"Impressive!" William replied, a spark of genuine interest lighting up his eyes. He took the samples, slowly nodding as he examined the lustre and weight of the minerals. "This was Ellina’s idea, wasn’t it?"

He raised his head to look at them, and Berry quickly jumped back into the conversation. "She proposed the concept, and the rest of us contributed every material we managed to scavenge from the fallen Upper Realm masters. We’re hoping to craft the ultimate flying weapons to turn the tide against these monsters!"

"A wise decision," William said, nodding in satisfaction. "Very well... let me see what I have in storage."

Accessing and sorting through his accumulated loot was no small task. William possessed a staggering number of storage rings, many of which he hadn’t even had the chance to inventory yet—including the spoils taken from the Black Serpents group he had recently eliminated.

Still, he fully supported the initiative. He began a systematic inspection of every ring in his possession, pulling out vast quantities of ore and presenting them to Fang and Berry. Piece by piece, the pile of shimmering minerals grew.

They were identical to the samples Fang had provided, and as the minutes turned into an hour, the volume of material William produced began to dwarf everything the others had managed to gather collectively.

"And here I thought you wouldn’t have much to give," Fang exclaimed after an hour, his voice thick with genuine shock. As William continued to withdraw high-grade ores from his rings, Fang felt as though he were watching a man who had secret access to a private Upper Realm mine.

"He always keeps the best treasures for himself," Becky noted with an amused chuckle. William simply ignored the jab, his focus remaining on the task on hand.

For three more hours, the exchange continued. William worked with efficiency, filtering through his mountain of spoils to find the specific ores Ellina required. By the time he finally stopped, the stockpile was immense.

If he had truly wanted to, he could have produced even more, and if he had asked Becky to contribute from her own private stores, the amount would have likely doubled again.

"Take this back to her," William instructed, his voice grave. "But tell Ellina this: in exchange for these materials and the techniques provided, she will join our guild."

Yet he decided to stop there. He didn’t know exactly which blueprints she intended to utilise, but he could read the intent behind her movements. These weapons weren’t being crafted merely to survive the immediate pressure of the monster tide; they were being built for the long game.

Realising just how far-sighted and capable she truly was, a realisation dawned on him. It was finally time to address the forging faction within his guild. The current disorganised system had reached its limit. It was time to let her establish a formal department and lead it with the authority she deserved.

Up until this point, William had depended entirely upon the scattered efforts of a few select masters within the guild. It had been a functional, if clumsy, arrangement. But as the guild expanded to such a massive scale, the cracks were beginning to show. A move toward professional centralisation felt more necessary now than ever before.

"Are you sure you don’t need any help?" Fang asked, his voice breaking the silence.

Fang knew it was time to head back to the city, yet he found himself lingering. The stagnant life of simply waiting for spears to be finished didn’t suit his restless nature. He wanted to be where the heat was.

"If you want to stay, then stay," William replied calmly. He could tell Fang wasn’t asking out of a sense of duty toward the manual labour, but rather because of a specific purpose brewing in his mind. Having an extra pair of hands was never a disadvantage, especially when those hands belonged to someone as formidable as Fang.

"I’ll stay then," Fang decided with a sharp nod. "You go back. Once everything is ready on the city side, just let me know where to go. I’ll head out to help at the other hotspots."

"Okay," Berry muttered. She didn’t seem particularly moved by Fang’s decision to stay behind. However, she paused, her gaze lingering on William for several long moments. It was clear she wanted to say something—perhaps a warning or a word of concern—but at the last second, she bit her lip and decided against it.

"She wanted to tell you not to overdo it," Fang said with a knowing smirk after watching Berry and the other masters disappear through the shimmering light of the distant portal. "She is a nice girl, William. You know that, right?"

"She is a kind flower," William agreed softly, his eyes momentarily softening before the cold reality of the battlefield reclaimed his expression. "Now, enough talk. Let’s return to the grind. Those monsters won’t kill themselves."

Fang let out a boisterous laugh. William and Becky exchanged a confused glance, not quite catching the hidden joke. "You are doing exactly what I expected," Fang chuckled, shaking his head. "So, the plan remains the same? We just keep killing and grinding those motherfuckers until there’s nothing left but dust?"

"Use your lightning array," William commanded, his tone shifting into that of a leader. "I’ll take the front. You two can rain down attacks as you see fit. Let’s clear a path."

William didn’t stay stationary a second longer. He dashed forward, a blur of motion as he threw himself into the thick of the monster horde.

"Did you bring any of those new spears with you?" Becky called out. She was itching to test the quality of the new batch, sharing the same curiosity that had driven Fang to experiment with his flying spear.
