REINCARNATION OF THE STRONGEST WAR HERO-Chapter 149: TIER 2?!
The next morning.....
The morning sun had barely risen over Solvane, casting a soft golden hue across the city. A gentle breeze swept through the streets, carrying the fresh scent of dew. Birds chirped somewhere far, blending with the sound of distant wagons.
Inside the Hunter Guild, a boy stood quietly in the fighting arena. Other than hunter test, it was used for training and mock battles as well.
It looked empty. Still. As only he was present.
The wide stone-floored ground reflected faint streaks of light filtering in through the glass roof. He slowly exhaled. The cool morning air brushed against his skin, tugging lightly at his clothes.
It was Logan.
Today was the day.
His training with Ali Arkman, the guild master, a S-class hunter was about to begin.
Logan didn’t move much. He just waited.
A few minutes passed.
And then.....
Click. Click.
The sound of steady footsteps echoed into the arena. Logan turned his head.
The guild master had arrived.
He wore the same sharp expression as usual. His crimson cloak kept fluttering behind him with each step. He stopped in front of Logan and crossed his arms.
"You’re right on time. It seems you are eager to improve." he said with a satisfied smile.
"I am. I want to be strong. The sooner the better," Logan replied calmly.
Ali’s smile turned into a smirk. "Good. Let’s not delay, then."
Ali took a few steps back. "Show me your current strength. Show me what you are capable of." 𝐟𝕣𝗲𝕖𝕨𝗲𝐛𝗻𝗼𝐯𝗲𝚕.𝗰𝚘𝐦
Logan blinked. "What do you mean? Haven’t we already fought?"
"Fighting and casting spells when not under pressure aren’t same. Your fighting instincts will grow with continuous battles. I am here to help you rise through your magic Tiers. So show me your strongest offensive spell. Right now. I want to see what you are capable of."
Logan hesitated slightly.
He remembered his own decision clearly—he would only use fire and ice affinity in front of others to not reveal his identity. No lightning, no wind, no gravity.
"Alright then," after pondering for a while he nodded.
Raising his hand, Logan summoned a fireball.
It flared up immediately, blazing in mid-air, easily the size of a full-grown man’s torso.
But something felt... strange.
His brows furrowed. "Why does it feel stronger than my usual spells?!"
As the fireball floated, its shape started to shrink. Not because he was weakening...
but because the fire inside it was getting denser. More compact. More powerful.
It became the size of a melon...
small and tight, yet the air around it distorted from heat.
Ali narrowed his eyes. He already sensed something strange yesterday. Now his suspicions grew stronger.
Then Logan hurled it.
BOOOOM!
The fireball hit the far side of the arena and exploded. The shockwave trembled through the stone floor. Heatwaves rippled outward. Even from a distance, Ali could feel the blast’s strength.
But it wasn’t just raw power.
It was controlled. Focused. Too precise for Tier 1.
Ali didn’t speak. Not yet. He wanted to see further.
Logan stepped forward again and raised his right hand ahead. This time, a swirl of blue energy formed around his palms.
Five spear-shaped streams of water spun rapidly in the air, then turned into sharp solid ice spears, whirling fast and humming with energy.
He made a slicing motion in the air—
WHOOSH! WHOOSH! WHOOSH!
All five spears shot forward like arrows and pierced the ground, each creating deep craters.
Ali’s expression finally shifted.
"Are you really just Tier 1?"
His voice was calm, but there was a weight behind it.
Logan didn’t reply.
Because truth be told, he himself was shocked beyond words.
And Ali could sense this as well.
Ali stepped forward. "Come with me."
Logan followed him wordlessly as they exited the arena and went through a narrow hallway leading to a chamber.
Inside, the walls were lined with weapons, scrolls, and old books. A small orb sat on a pedestal in the middle of the room.
It wasn’t the usual affinity-testing orb.
It was a mana capacity crystal—used to test a mage’s current tier.
Ali looked at Logan. "Place your palm on it."
Logan nodded and stepped forward.
His hand touched the surface of the orb.
A second passed.
Then the orb glowed, brighter and brighter, first it turned into pitch black. Then soon shifted to red.
Ali was taken aback and words left his mouth in shock. "Tier 2."
But more than surprise, there was confusion in his voice.
"That’s impossible," he said under his breath. "Just a week ago during the hunter exam... he was Tier 1. I fought him myself. Now..."
His eyes locked on Logan.
"What the hell happened in just one week?"
Logan stood still. "I don’t know."
He truly didn’t.
He hadn’t done any mana training in the past week at all. No mana flow meditation. No spell-casting drills. Nothing. All he did was clear dungeons, use his affinities in real combat...and cultivation.
Was that it? Could his cultivation somehow enhance his mana core too? No... not just enhance. Advance it?
Ali stared at the orb again, then back at Logan.
"You’re something else, kid."
Logan didn’t reply.
His mind was still trying to make sense of it.
How did his tier increase without any focus on mana training?
Was it a side effect of his cultivation method?
Or...
Was this the true strength of the path he walked alone?
Ali finally shook his head and sighed. "You’re not a normal hunter. That’s for sure."
Then he looked at Logan again with a more serious tone.
"Be ready to go through hell kid. I was planning on starting it easy. But your surprise has boiled my blood. we will begin proper training. Magic combat. Spell variation. Energy control. All of it. I want to test your limit."
Logan gave a firm nod.
"Good. Let’s head to the fighting arena again."
Logan looked once more at the glowing orb, its light now fading.
"Tier Two." He clenched his fist slightly. And then followed the guild master.
