Rejected by the Campus Belle, I Find My True Love-Chapter 251 - 249: Forgot Something Very Important
Taking a huge step back, even if Xue Yang wouldn’t abandon her, what if he kept a mistress or two? She would cry her eyes out.
Xue Yang had been steadfast in his affection for Chen Ying for six years, but he had gotten together with another girl almost immediately after she rejected him. That spoke volumes.
Perhaps Xue Yang isn’t as devoted as I thought. That new girl is bound to get hurt.
As she thought this, Wu Xiaoya’s favorable impression of Xue Yang dropped off a cliff.
Xue Yang, concentrating on driving, keenly sensed the shift in her mood. Did I say something wrong? Why does she suddenly look so upset? How strange. The old saying about a woman’s heart being a needle at the bottom of the sea really must be true. Xiao Xi is the best. She would never get moody like this all of a sudden. Besides, she always says whatever is on her mind. We’ve been together for so long and we’ve never once had an argument or even a tense word.
At this thought, Xue Yang realized that even though they had only been apart for a short while, he was already starting to miss Lin Xi.
"Half a month... it’s so long," he murmured.
I want to hold her soft, delicate hands and soak our feet together right now. Hmm, maybe I should buy a new foot soaking tub. The one we have is too small. Every time we use it, Lin Xi’s feet get all red and cramped. Yes, that must be why—the tub is too small.
"What?" Wu Xiaoya asked, completely perplexed by his random comment.
"It’s nothing."
Where can I buy a foot soaking tub? It would be even better if we could soak in a proper bathtub together... but we can’t; the bathroom isn’t big enough. I can’t just put a huge tub in the living room, that would be too weird. If Si Wen came over, her imagination would definitely run wild. Something like that is better kept private. It looks like I need to get a bigger house... but I can’t afford one right now. This is Yancheng, the capital, after all. Buying a house here is no easy feat. For now, I’ll just get a bigger foot soaking tub so we won’t be so cramped. Wait a minute... I feel like I’m forgetting something. Didn’t that little rascal say she would wear stockings for me when I got back? I’ve been so busy I completely forgot about something so important!
A look of regret crossed Xue Yang’s face.
From the back seat, Wu Xiaoya watched Xue Yang drive with concentration. He was still wearing the same black technical jacket from yesterday, which made him seem all the more deep and charming. When he furrowed his brow slightly... my God, even she could feel her heart flutter. A guy like him must get asked for his number all the time, right?
Wu Xiaoya decided to drop a subtle hint. "Junior, for a girl to give you her purse, she must really trust you."
"I know."
How could she not trust me? She just casually handed me a fortune worth hundreds of millions. How many people in history have ever shown that kind of trust?
At that thought, Xue Yang suddenly felt it wasn’t right to leave the purse in the glove compartment. He’d only put it there because he was used to Xiao Xi leaving her things in the car. Her mirror, for example, was clipped to the sun visor, complete with a pink bow. That’s why he’d unthinkingly tossed her purse in there.
While waiting at a red light, Xue Yang took the purse out and tucked it securely into his pocket. He even patted the pocket, as if to confirm it was safe. There, that’s better.
The light turned green. Xue Yang started the car and headed toward another campus gate to pick up a package.
Wu Xiaoya saw the whole thing, and she didn’t understand his actions at all. He had already put the purse in the glove compartment, so why take it out again? Does he not want other girls to see it? Scumbag! ...But wait, why do I care if he’s a scumbag or not? It has nothing to do with me. I’m not his girlfriend, so why am I getting worked up over nothing?
With that, she fell completely silent. The car came to a stop at the west gate.
"Senior, please wait in the car for a moment. I’m going to grab a package."
"Okay."
A moment later, Xue Yang emerged from the security office carrying a large box. It was so big it almost completely hid him from view.
As he loaded it into the trunk, he grumbled to himself. That Mrs. Zhong... I told her not to send so much stuff, but she still sent this huge box. Good thing the trunk is big enough; otherwise, I’d have to unpack it right here.
He had just settled back into the driver’s seat when his phone rang. Unsurprisingly, it was Mrs. Zhong. "Xiao Yang, did you get the package?"
"Just got it. It’s filled to the brim with all of Mrs. Zhong’s love."
"Of course! I practically emptied our fridge for you."
"Thank you so much, Mrs. Zhong. If I could see you right now, I’d give you a big kiss."
Hearing this from the back seat, Wu Xiaoya became even more certain that Xue Yang was a scumbag.
If I had known, I would’ve rather stayed at school and grown mold from boredom than get in his car. Can I get out now? I could... but it’s a long walk from the west gate back to the dorms.
While she was still hesitating, the car started moving again. Three minutes later, it pulled up in front of a large building.
Wu Xiaoya got out of the car, stood in front of the building, and looked up at the large characters above the entrance. "Lipu Building," she said, reading the sign. "The rent here can’t be cheap, can it? The university has dedicated classrooms for student startups. You could have just applied for one and saved a lot of money."
"I thought about that, but we’re developing a game. Most people see that as not being serious work," Xue Yang explained. "The university administration would be unlikely to approve it, and even if they did, there would be too many restrictions. I couldn’t be bothered to explain it all to the school leadership."
Wu Xiaoya nodded. That’s true. The school strictly prohibits gaming. They would definitely reject an application for a classroom if it was for a game studio. If you know it’s a lost cause, why waste the effort? I have to admit, he really thought this through.
"Junior, aren’t you going to take your package inside?" she asked.
"It’s too heavy. I don’t want to carry it."
"Oh."
Wu Xiaoya followed Xue Yang inside, feeling honestly quite excited. She was a third-year, and in one more semester, she’d be starting an internship. This was a good chance to experience a professional atmosphere ahead of time. Besides, I’m curious. He’s only a freshman. What kind of studio could he have possibly put together?
The elevator stopped on the 21st floor, and Xue Yang strode out. Wu Xiaoya hurried to keep up.
After just a few steps, they saw a large sign that read: TianMei Studio.
Although Xue Yang hadn’t said which studio was his, Wu Xiaoya’s intuition told her this had to be it. Sure enough, Xue Yang walked right up to the studio door, pushed it open, and went inside.
"Yo, our big boss finally decides to show his face!" Cui Hao’s voice greeted them the moment they walked in.
"Yo yourself," Xue Yang retorted, tossing the car keys to Cui Hao. "I brought snacks. Grab a couple of guys and go downstairs to get them."
