Chapter 192: Chapter 192: The More You Protect Him, the More I Want to Kill Him

Leona Grant pressed down on Annabelle Linton like a caged beast, leaning in closer once more.

A dark shadow fell over her, as if the very sky had turned dark and stormy!

"Just the other day, I reminded you of your place and warned you not to have contact with any man. Did you just let my words go in one ear and out the other? Ignoring me... what do you take me for?!"

Leona Grant practically roared these words.

Only he knew just how furious he was.

’Women? He had plenty. But he hadn’t touched a single one.’

’No matter how terribly he’d treated her in the past, he could say with a clear conscience that he had been completely faithful, that he’d never done anything to betray their marriage or her.’

’But what had she done?!’

’Time and time again, she tested the limits of his patience. Time and time again, she cheated on him!’

’He had carved out so much time for her, given her his patience, his tolerance, and his promises—but she had cast it all aside like trash, meeting his efforts with scorn and indifference!’

’He had devoted his heart to her, yet this damn woman repeatedly challenged his authority and his patience. Did she think fighting him until they were both battered and broken was some exciting way to live?!’

’Aaron Wyatt... what right did he have to compete with him?!’ 𝗳𝚛𝗲𝕖𝚠𝚎𝚋𝗻𝗼𝕧𝗲𝐥.𝚌𝚘𝐦

"Leona Grant, I don’t have time for your shameless arrogance, nor do I have time to listen to your long-winded, chauvinistic tirades. I’ll give you three seconds. Get the hell off me!"

"So you’re admitting it, aren’t you?!"

Leona Grant saw the red mark on her chin and loosened his grip. He placed his hands on either side of her, holding her gaze at close range.

But the cold, beautiful, and indifferent face before him was something he both loved and hated!

’Annabelle Linton, why must you oppose me time and time again?!’

"Together every day, with him to and from work, with him for meals, with him on weekends... Do you sleep with him, too? Together from dawn till dusk, a devoted couple deeply in love—what a beautiful, widely acclaimed, picture-perfect romance!"

"But have you forgotten?!"

Leona Grant’s eyes were bloodshot, his face contorted with fury. "You are Leona Grant’s woman! You’re branded as mine. Do you think you can have the best of both worlds? Not a chance!

"Aaron Wyatt, is it? For me, crushing him would be easier than squashing an ant. Don’t believe me? I could make him suffer a violent death in the next second!"

A deep-seated panic flashed through Annabelle Linton’s otherwise fearless eyes. She warned aloud, "You wouldn’t dare!"

"Just you watch me!"

Annabelle Linton seemed to transform in an instant, looking at him anxiously. "Leona Grant, if you want to hit or curse someone, direct it at me. Leave the innocent out of this!

"This is between you and me; don’t drag other people into it. This is about us, not him. I have nothing to do with him!"

"Nothing to do with him?!" Leona Grant roared. "So now you know how to explain yourself, how to disavow the relationship? My, what a righteous woman you are, Annabelle Linton!

"You’ve never shown me this kind of devotion! For his sake, you’re willing to take all the responsibility on your own shoulders, planning to carry the burden all by yourself, is that it?! You’re really something else!"

Seeing Annabelle Linton’s pained expression, the fire in his heart blazed even hotter, incinerating the last shreds of his reason and the flicker of tenderness he felt.

Rage, mingled with heartache.

Leona Grant let out a cold laugh. "Don’t give me that ’I don’t know how to explain’ act. Do you think I don’t know you’re protecting him?!

"But the more you protect him, the more I want to destroy him!"

Without a second thought, Annabelle Linton swung her hand to slap him.

A sharp glint flashed in Leona Grant’s eyes as he snatched her hand out of the air.

"Annabelle Linton, trying to hit me over an outsider again, hmm?!"

"You bastard! Hitting you would be letting you off easy. I want to kill you!"
