Remarriage Failed Again Today-Chapter 195: Vivian Yates’s Cunning
Annabelle Linton coldly brushed Vivian Yates’s hand off her arm.
’She didn’t get it. Why did this woman have to be so handsy all the time? Couldn’t she just talk?’
’Were they that close?’
Annabelle shot her a cold glance, completely unfazed by their ridiculous nonsense. Instead, she turned and headed back into the hospital room.
"It looks like something is bound to happen today. If we have something to discuss, let’s do it inside. Stop embarrassing yourselves out here."
Vivian Yates followed her inside, her eyes red-rimmed. "Annabelle, no matter what Faye did wrong, I can’t just stand by and do nothing. I know she has a bit of a temper and often clashes with you, but please, be the bigger person and forgive her this one time, won’t you?"
Annabelle watched her nonchalantly as she settled onto the sofa. "Oh, you’re right. She’s certainly childish, her words are grating, and she doesn’t seem to be all there mentally.
So, now that I’ve listened to all your hypocritical pleading and a mountain of other nonsense, could you please get to the point? Tell me something useful."
Vivian Yates was taken aback, not expecting Annabelle to be so blunt.
Her expression soured, but she finally got to the point. "Faye just mentioned to Leona that you’re often seen with a man. That the two of you are together a lot and it doesn’t look good. And now Leona wants to ruin Faye’s face.
Annabelle, I know you hate me, but I’ve never held it against you. You can hate me—I accept it, and I don’t blame you. But please, don’t take it out on Faye, okay? She’s innocent..."
Hearing this, Annabelle couldn’t help but let out a cold laugh.
Vivian Yates’s words, while sounding like a plea, were utterly nauseating.
But paired with her flawless expression and emotional delivery, it came across as a perfectly genuine plea!
’Perhaps in her past life, seeing Vivian act this way would have made her feel guilty, sad, and self-critical.’
’But now that she understood Vivian’s true nature, she knew there was no way Vivian was just pleading for Faye!’
’Would Vivian ever do anything that didn’t benefit her?’
’It only took a few words for Annabelle to see right through Vivian’s intentions!’
Recalling the undisguised disgust on Faye Sheffield’s face...
Annabelle really didn’t know whether to pity the girl or laugh at her.
’Faye, do you really think that just because she keeps calling you "Faye" so sweetly, she’s actually pleading your case?’
’Talk is cheap. Anyone can do that.’
’Leona Grant is a cold person. How could a nobody like Faye even be worthy of speaking to her?’
’To put it bluntly, it’s an honor for Faye to even have Leona order her face ruined!’ 𝗳𝚛𝚎𝚎𝘄𝕖𝕓𝕟𝕠𝚟𝚎𝕝.𝗰𝕠𝐦
’After all, there are an incredible number of people out there fighting for the chance to say even a single word to Leona Grant!’
’So, Faye must have said something truly vile to make Leona deign to speak.’
’And for Leona to speak up, could it really have been over a few casual remarks?!’
’So, this was Vivian’s first scheme!’
’Everyone knows someone like Leona Grant can’t tolerate betrayal.’
’The whole reason Vivian was "helping" Faye was to add fuel to the fire. She wanted to emphasize that I was being unfaithful, deliberately letting Leona know I was with another man, hoping Leona would fly into a rage and divorce me, just like before!’
’Her second scheme was to deliberately downplay Faye’s transgression. This way, she could make herself look innocent and kind!’
’After all, her real goal was just to add fuel to the fire.’
’If a real confrontation were to happen, she could just play the innocent, kind-hearted friend. She could claim Faye never told her the full story and shift all the blame onto her!’
’And if there was no confrontation, she could play the righteous, kind-hearted friend to both Leona and Faye. She could then claim that I was only targeting Faye because I hated Vivian, painting me as vicious, petty, manipulative, and someone who uses her position to settle personal scores!’
