Remarriage Failed Again Today-Chapter 59: Wasn’t Her Tuition Paid for by the Grant Family?
Leona Grant’s eyes narrowed slightly. He asked in disbelief, "How do you know all this?"
"I picked it up here and there," Annabelle Linton said casually, not bothering to explain further. It was clear she didn’t think much of it.
’How could she know so much detail from just "picking it up here and there"?’
Annabelle Linton was a lady from a prominent family. Although she never received the parental love she deserved, she was shaped by high society, and her experience, knowledge, and insight were far beyond that of an ordinary person.
She was only timid when it came to her feelings for Leona Grant, but that didn’t mean she was useless.
Calculating the time in her head, she recalled that in her past life, this was about when Vivian Yates had shown up.
Seeing that it was about time, Annabelle Linton got up and walked over to Patrick Grant. "Grandpa, Mom and Dad are having tea on the rooftop. Let’s go join them. I can keep you company while you paint, too."
"Alright, alright, let’s go." He had gotten the hint. Patrick Grant chuckled and rose to his feet, letting Annabelle Linton support him as they walked toward the rooftop.
Leona Grant frowned slightly as he watched Annabelle Linton’s retreating figure. ’This woman is full of more and more surprises.’
’But why is he only discovering all this now, when they’re about to get a divorce?’
"Regretting it, are you?"
Ashley Grant had come downstairs at some point. She yawned, patted Leona Grant’s shoulder, and said sympathetically, "It’s just that you two can never go back to how things were."
Leona Grant’s brows furrowed. "Why does she know Arabic?"
"What’s so strange about knowing Arabic? The woman knows six languages!"
"My sister-in-law might seem like the great miss of the Linton Family, but her father never cared about her. She paid for her entire university tuition abroad by working as a translator. You should have seen her juggling part-time jobs—seven or eight at once, including washing dishes at a restaurant. It was really exhausting."
Ashley Grant clicked her tongue and shook her head, her face full of admiration. "She was also earning money for her brother’s tuition. One time, my sister-in-law had a fever and kept putting off seeing a doctor to save money. She ended up fainting and was found by Aaron, who took her to the hospital. The bill came out to thirty thousand, and it maxed out her card. Both Aaron and I offered her money, but she refused. We tried to lend it to her, but she refused that too."
"She survived on just one piece of bread a day. You have no idea what she went through for those two months. I don’t know who this saintly brother of hers is, but he has such an amazing sister. I wish I had one like that too."
Leona Grant’s brows furrowed even tighter. "Didn’t the Grant Family pay for her tuition?"
He had always assumed the Grant Family paid for it, and he had even insulted Annabelle Linton for it many times.
The Grant Family wasn’t short on that kind of money, but he just couldn’t stand what he saw as Annabelle Linton’s habit of taking petty advantages.
Ashley Grant was stunned, looking at him like he was an idiot. "How could you even think that? Grandpa did give my sister-in-law the tuition money, but she has her pride. She didn’t spend a single cent and gave it all back to us. In fact, she had me return it to Grandpa for her. You think I’d lie to you?"
"I was friends with my sister-in-law for all four years she was in university, and Aaron was her good friend, too..."
Ashley Grant paused, glanced at Leona Grant with a cunning glint in her eye, and said deliberately, "Oh, and speaking of Aaron, my sister-in-law’s relationship with him is incredibly close. They did basically everything together—eating, shopping, you name it. They even shared an apartment in Albion. Do you think she’ll get together with him after you two divorce? And you know, being with Aaron would actually be great. He’s gentle, handsome, and considerate. I’d want a boyfriend like that too."
