Remarried Wife: She will Remarry, But Another Person-Chapter 202: Love at First Sight
Sabrina saw his message and hesitated slightly.
She stared at the two tickets in her hand. An art exhibition like this might not come around again, and she originally wanted to bring her little one along.
But... Mr. Fitzgerald’s arrangements must also be thoughtful.
So Sabrina didn’t hesitate for long and made up her mind.
Since she couldn’t go with Zara, she’d go with Tessa.
At that time, if she saw a painting she liked, she could ask for her advice on the selection.
The next day, Sabrina gave the ticket to Tessa.
Tessa was puzzled when she heard she was invited, "Why didn’t you invite Mr. Fitzgerald along? He’ll be there during Zara’s treatment anyway, and it’s all outdoor treatments recently, giving him the ticket would be more appropriate."
Tessa’s tone was slightly frustrated when she said this.
Fortunately, her friend wasn’t pursuing him; otherwise, she’d be driven mad by the slow progress!
Sabrina replied awkwardly, "After all, we’re picking a gift, and having him there feels a bit awkward..."
Tessa thought: What’s awkward about that?
Not giving it directly, seems like you want to surprise him.
However, she pondered for a bit and decided not to remind her friend, even smiling mischievously as she watched.
"Alright then, we’ll go with your plan."
To be honest, she really liked the idea of Sabrina being with Mr. Fitzgerald; he’s an extraordinary man!
Good-looking, long legs, prestigious, warm and polite. The previous one with the surname Huo couldn’t compare to even a finger of his! 𝙛𝒓𝓮𝒆𝔀𝒆𝙗𝓷𝒐𝙫𝒆𝙡.𝒄𝓸𝓶
In her view, only such a man was suitable for her friend.
Marrying Sabrina would mean he’d gain Zara, a precious gem, for nothing—what a win!
Sabrina couldn’t guess what Tessa was anticipating, and the matter was settled quickly.
Early Saturday morning, Jasper Fitzgerald came to pick up Zara.
Seeing Sabrina and Tessa ready to leave too, he offered, "Where are you two headed? I can drop you off."
Sabrina quickly waved her hand, saying, "No need, no need, we’ll drive ourselves. But thanks for taking Zara today; don’t worry, I’ll handle things quickly and come find you!"
She was afraid her plan would be discovered, so she handed over Zara’s water bottle, hat, and little backpack.
The little one was excited about going out with her uncle and had been looking forward to it for several days.
She wore a cute, light blue floral dress specially today, and Sabrina styled her hair adorably, with a beautiful star-shaped hairpin, making her look impossibly adorable.
Jasper replied, "No rush, take your time."
Then he took Zara from her.
Sabrina patted her daughter’s head and gently said, "Listen to your uncle today, okay, Zara?"
"Okay!"
Little Zara nodded, waving her small hand to say goodbye in her sweet voice, "Bye-bye, Mommy!"
Sabrina smiled and waved goodbye to them.
Tessa, watching from the side, clicked her tongue—she almost felt like she was seeing a dad taking care of a child while a mom gives concerned reminders.
However, she worried that saying it out loud might earn a scolding, so she stayed silent.
Later on, the two of them left together to attend the art exhibition.
When they arrived, there were already quite a few people there.
At such a high-level exhibition, attendees were courteous and kept quiet.
There were several staff members maintaining order on site, and the security system was very strict and thorough.
The people who came to view the exhibition all had a refined demeanor; you could tell they were people of status.
Sabrina rarely attended such events, but because her daughter studied painting, she had picked up some knowledge and learned to appreciate them a bit.
About halfway through, Tessa leaned over and whispered to Sabrina, "What type of painting are you planning to buy for Mr. Fitzgerald?"
Sabrina shook her head, saying, "I don’t know yet. We’re browsing; maybe we’ll find the right one..."
That indeed proved true; in less than half an hour, Sabrina found one that caught her eye.
It was a traditional Chinese painting, a temple standing atop a snowy mountain summit.
Amidst the swirling white snow, there was a figure standing beneath a snow-capped pine.
In the painting, the figure was simply rendered but carried an aura, with his long robe lifted by the chilling wind, standing solitary as if blended into the landscape, exuding an Immortal-like integrity.
The person held something in his hand, resembling Buddha Beads, imbued with an inexplicable elegant essence...
Sabrina couldn’t explain why, but felt this painting really matched Jasper Fitzgerald.
Especially the feeling from their first meeting—cool, like a figure from the heavens, noble beyond reach.
Tessa stopped when she saw Sabrina linger before the painting and, curious, looked over. After just one glance, she exclaimed in surprise, "Why does this painting have a sense of déjà vu of Mr. Fitzgerald?"
Sabrina turned to her, "You feel that too?"
Tessa nodded, "It’s a very straightforward feeling; do you feel it as well?"
Sabrina laughed, "Yes!"
Tessa laughed and asked, "So, it’s this one, right?"
She paused before continuing, "But Mr. Fitzgerald paints abstract art; do you think he’ll like this style?"
Sabrina looked at the painting and replied, "He knows traditional Chinese art too. Zara later learned it from him."
"Then no need to look further. This is it; let’s check the price..."
Tessa clapped her hands and agreed with her choice.
Sabrina had already seen the artist’s signature and the price.
This was the work of a renowned contemporary Chinese painting master who’s quite old and retired for many years; this painting was his swan song, priced at ten million.
This price wasn’t actually expensive among all the artworks there.
Previously, Sabrina had to budget carefully because she didn’t have much savings.
But now it’s different. Her career was successful, and she was much wealthier than before.
Moreover, this was a gift for Mr. Fitzgerald, worth every penny.
Not to mention, Mr. Fitzgerald had always been generous to her and Zara...
Sabrina immediately made the decision, "This one!"
Tessa nodded and waved to a nearby staff member, "Hi, we’re interested in buying this painting, could you help take it down?"
"Of course, please wait a moment."
The staff responded politely, then had someone help take down the painting and led Sabrina to sign.
When they went over, a person in charge was registering purchases, and there was an elderly person in a wheelchair next to him.
The elderly person had white hair but an elegant demeanor, wearing an exquisite ink-blue qipao. Seeing the painting Sabrina intended to buy, she curiously asked, "Young lady, there are many beautiful paintings here; why did you choose this one?
Previously, someone commented on this painting, saying it conveys a sense of aloofness and distance, making it untouchable.
The cold figure in the painting, though with long hair, is devoted to Buddhism, seemingly emotionless and indifferent, with eyes that appear empty, showing God’s compassion for the mundane.
With an immortal’s presence, cutting off emotion and love, standing alone at the snowy summit, anyone who sees it feels its loneliness. I’m very curious about your reason for buying it."
