Return of the Sword God-Rank Civil Servant-Chapter 332
[Movement Acceleration Technique has been activated.]
As he started running, the [Movement Acceleration Technique] that enhanced movement speed activated.
He had already applied his self-buffs beforehand.
Su-ho gripped his [Blood Weapon] in hand and began slashing through people.
Of course, he didn’t kill them.
He simply knocked out all the civilians with the dull side of his sword.
Even if they were KGB agents, there wasn’t much point in killing desk-bound personnel who weren’t Players.
"Intruder!"
"Someone's here!"
"Call the suppression team immediately!"
The agents shouted.
It was pitch dark, and he knocked out everyone he saw, yet somehow they still managed to realize an intruder was present.
But so what.
The ultra-powerful electromagnetic pulse had disabled all CCTV, returning everything to a prehistoric state.
While knocking out the agents, Su-ho headed toward the office of the Director of the 13th Bureau, searching for materials related to the joint project between Bratva and the KGB.
Finding the director’s office wasn’t hard.
He already knew it was at the very top of the building.
However, due to the electromagnetic pulse, all emergency doors were locked.
Bang!!
So he broke it.
As if a door like that could stop him.
Su-ho quickly scaled the doorway and made his way up.
As he climbed toward the top floor, Su-ho spotted someone sitting in the emergency stairwell at the very top.
That man sat there like he’d been waiting for Su-ho, and the moment he sensed Su-ho’s presence, he stood up.
"You must be the intruder."
"What, were you waiting for me?"
"Yes. My name is Andrei Pavlov. I’ve been stationed here to deal with people like you."
"I see."
Su-ho immediately leapt forward.
He grabbed the stair railing, used the wall as a foothold to launch himself, spun in midair, and drove a kick down at the man’s nape.
"Hmph!"
Andrei reacted to Su-ho’s sudden attack.
He lunged out with brute force to grab him. But—
Crunch!
His outstretched hand was bent backward at the wrist just as it was.
And that wasn’t all. As planned, Su-ho’s foot struck Andrei’s neck squarely.
Thud—
Andrei collapsed.
Su-ho clicked his tongue as he looked down at the fallen man.
"Tsk tsk. Dumbass."
Andrei’s response had been decent.
But the stat gap was just too large. He couldn’t move the way he envisioned.
After administering a paralysis pressure point to Andrei, Su-ho broke through the emergency door and entered the director’s office.
The office was at the far end of the top floor.
Surprisingly, this floor alone was brightly lit.
'They must be running emergency power just for this floor.'
Either that, or they were using magical equipment.
Otherwise, there was no way only this area would be so bright.
As Su-ho entered, the seated agents widened their eyes.
They didn’t scream like ordinary people.
They were still agents, after all.
Instead, they quietly reached under their desks and drew the handguns stashed beneath.
"Now!"
Bang bang bang!!
Flames burst from the muzzles.
Su-ho didn’t dodge.
Because it was pointless.
He meant it.
The fired bullets hit Su-ho with ting ting ting! sounds and bounced off his skin.
The agents' eyes widened in disbelief, as if they were seeing a monster.
Su-ho asked politely.
"Are you done shooting?"
"Wh-what the hell...?"
Rather than answering, Su-ho instantly rushed them and knocked them all out.
They were just civilian agents.
So he used the flat of his blade and hand strikes to knock them unconscious.
Once he’d subdued them all, Su-ho made his way to the inner office.
Inside sat the director of the 13th Bureau, Alexei Petrov, a plump man in his signature uniform.
His yellow beard stood out as he glared at Su-ho and spoke.
"Who are you?"
"Frogman."
"What?"
"Can’t you tell? I’m wearing a frog mask. Anyway, you..."
As Su-ho looked Alexei over, he noticed something surprising.
Alexei wasn’t a Player.
"Tsk tsk. No matter where you go, the people at the top are always civilians."
"What did you say?"
"Shut up. If you’re going to shoot, just do it already."
"You crazy bastard!"
As Su-ho approached his desk, Alexei swiftly drew his gun and fired.
Bang!
Fast.
Accurate.
It even hit.
But that was all.
The bullet clearly struck Su-ho’s face.
However, it sparked off and ricocheted to the side upon impact, and Su-ho approached without even blinking.
"What are you doing?"
"You bastard!!"
Bang bang bang!
The shots rang out again.
All on target.
But that was still all there was.
"What is this, a pork dish minigame? Are you done?"
"You fucking lunatic..."
Su-ho got in close and made eye contact.
[Enthrallment has been activated.]
The skill activated.
A heart-shaped gleam appeared in Alexei’s pupils.
Su-ho asked,
"Name."
"A-Alexei Petrov."
"You the director?"
"Yes, I’m the Director of the 13th Bureau."
"Hand over all internal documents. Everything the 13th Bureau is working on, and anything being carried out jointly with the KGB and Bratva. Oh, and make two copies."
"Y-yes, understood."
Alexei immediately began compiling the files.
While he sat and tapped away at the computer, Su-ho took a look around the office.
'Nice office. I guess if you’re the KGB director, this is the kind of space you get.'
After a short wait.
Alexei handed Su-ho two external hard drives, neatly packed for transport.
"Here you go."
"Both are copies, right?"
"Yes, that’s correct."
"You got a director’s seal or something? Like the kind used for official documents."
"Yes, I do."
"Give it to me. I’ll keep it as a souvenir. Also, let’s take a selfie together. Come on, smile and do a V sign."
"V."
Click!
That should serve well as future evidence.
The reason he made two copies was simple—one to submit, and one to keep for insurance.
After taking both external drives, Su-ho spoke again.
"By the way, your guys are pretty slow. Weren’t you calling in a suppression team?"
"We declared a state of emergency just now. The Tier 1 agents should arrive any minute."
"Tier 1 agents? So, Awakened Players?"
"Yes, that’s correct."
"Then are we talking about Russia’s top combatants?"
"Yes, it was declared a top-level emergency, so they should be dispatched immediately."
"Guess they’re all on five-minute standby?"
"They were about to be deployed to a large-scale Gate, so they’re already on alert."
A large-scale Gate?
Was there anything in Russia right now that would qualify?
The fact that he didn’t recall anything meant it probably wasn’t important.
Su-ho nodded.
"How many are coming?"
"About thirty."
"Got it. By the way, where’s the teleport stone?"
"I have an emergency one stored here."
"Do you have different ◈ Nоvеlіgһт ◈ (Continue reading) types? I’d prefer something that leads near Korea."
"Yes, we have them categorized by coordinates."
"Good. Let’s see them."
Alexei promptly pulled out the teleport stone box.
As he explained, Su-ho noticed a stone labeled with Hasan coordinates.
Just in case, he took them all.
If he only took the Hasan one, it might raise suspicions.
"I’m taking everything. That okay?"
"Yes, it’s an honor."
"Alright, that settles the teleport stones. Now then..."
Just then, several items flashed through Su-ho’s mind.
"Do you guys happen to have meteoric iron or pure gold here?"
"I’m sorry. We don’t have either of those."
"Really?"
Disappointing.
He’d assumed the 13th Bureau director’s office would have them for sure.
Su-ho slumped into a chair to deal with the letdown.
"You should’ve stocked up in advance. Whatever. Let’s just sit and relax now. But seriously, why are they taking so long in an emergency?"
"That’s what I’d like to know."
The two sat in the office chairs, waiting for Russia’s Players to arrive.
After a few minutes, a loud thump thump thump rose from below, and the KGB’s elite Players finally arrived.
As Su-ho stood, he tapped Alexei’s sleep pressure point and remarked,
"Loud bunch. The weakest ones always make the most noise."
When Su-ho opened the office door, one of the Tier 1 agents stationed outside drew his weapon and pointed it at him.
"Who are you?"
"Frogman."
"What?"
"Ask something worth asking. You think an intruder’s really going to answer that?"
"Are you American?"
"Are you an idiot? I just said I’m not telling you. Anyway, is this all of you? Thought there were supposed to be thirty?"
Exactly that.
Barely a bit over ten Tier 1 agents had shown up.
Su-ho glanced around at them and furrowed his brow.
'Someone who should be here isn’t.'
Someone who should’ve shown up—Isabella Mikhail.
He had already confirmed that she was on the KGB’s Player roster.
She was likely running late due to something else.
No problem.
She’d come eventually.
Su-ho drew his sword and said,
"You guys are supposed to be Russia’s best, right? I’m not planning on sparing any of you, so if you’ve got wills to write, now’s the time."
"Shut your damn mouth!"
Did they think it was just a bluff?
The ten or so of Russia’s elite lunged at Su-ho.
They had already applied their buffs on the way in.
But so had Su-ho.
Weapons flew toward him in an instant, but Su-ho didn’t move.
Instead, a large crimson shield appeared in front of him.
[Blood Armory has been activated.]
It was a [Blood Shield] created from his [Blood Armory].
It all happened in a flash—but Su-ho reacted even faster.
A red wall appeared before them, and the Russian Players froze in confusion.
But the real panic came next.
Just as they prepared to retreat and ready their next attack, sharp spikes shot out from the Blood Shield.
Puh-puh-puh-puh-puhk!
The [Blood Armory] could freely change shape.
This level of ambush was basic.
"Aaaaargh!!"
One Player was impaled clean through and screamed in agony.
At that moment, the Blood Shield split apart.
Not from an enemy attack—Su-ho split it himself.
He burst through the gap.
Thunk!
His sword pierced the forehead of the nearest Russian Player.
He immediately retrieved the blade and swung it again.
A smooth follow-up.
Su-ho danced with his sword, and with each swing, someone was either wounded or killed.
That’s why it took less than thirty seconds to annihilate Russia’s elite.
Su-ho finished off the remaining ones who were still breathing.
Shiver—
The final survivor died.
With an impassive expression, Su-ho summoned the [Guiyeong Spear] and fed it their shadows one by one.
He considered using [Dissection] on their corpses—but gave up.
Harvesting materials from human corpses felt... off.
As he continued feeding shadows to the [Guiyeong Spear]—
The Russian second wave finally arrived.
Another group of just over ten.
They gasped in horror the moment they saw Su-ho.
"What the hell is this...?!"
Of course they were horrified.
The people Su-ho had just killed weren’t randoms—they were Russia’s elite forces.
"Oh hey, you made it."
Su-ho greeted them cheerfully.
Then his expression brightened.
"Finally, you’re here."
The reason for his grin:
Isabella Mikhail had finally appeared.
As soon as he spotted her, Su-ho pulled out the [Guiyeong Spear] that had just finished feeding and threw it at her.
At the same time, he activated a skill.
[Ultra-High-Powered Electromagnetic Pulse has been activated.]
Crackle! Zzzap!
The electromagnetic pulse triggered, and the world was swallowed by darkness.
The emergency power lighting the director’s office instantly shut off.
Crack!
A chilling tearing sound followed.
[Throwing Spear has been activated.]
[Shadow Pierce has been activated.]
[Shadow Shackles has been activated.]
[Shadow Bleed has been activated.]
System messages poured in.
And then—
[You have leveled up.]
[All stats have increased by 1.]
[You have obtained 1 bonus stat.]
One more batch of system alerts.
Crackle—Pop!
Soon, the emergency power flickered back on, restoring light to the office.
And the Russian Players saw it.
"BELLA!!"
Their comrade—Isabella Mikhail—had been killed instantly, her head pierced through.
Su-ho spoke with the most refreshed expression in the world:
"One down, for now."
