Return With the Billionaire Baby Daddy-Chapter 144: In danger
Damian got up from bed after nearly 30 minutes of rest with Valerie following one round of lovemaking. He quickly headed to the bathroom, cleaned himself up, then returned to the room and dressed while occasionally glancing at Valerie, who seemed reluctant to get out of bed.
"You know why I don’t want to make love too often? It’s because you end up like this afterward," he said while putting on his shoes.
"I’m fine, although tired. I feel comfortable and finally sleepy," Valerie replied lazily, shifting her position to look at Damian.
"You shouldn’t sleep too early, at least at 11 am."
"I’m not sure..."
"No..." Damian stood up again after finishing tying his shoes, walked towards Valerie, and sat on the edge of the bed, tidying up her messy hair, then smiled.
"You promised to help me shave," Valerie whispered.
"I won’t forget, maybe tomorrow."
"No..."
"Then when?"
Valerie fell silent, gazing at Damian’s handsome and fresh face, although his suit wasn’t as neat as before, and he hadn’t even put on his tie.
"You help me after work... so, you have to try to come home early," she said.
Damian chuckled. "Why are you like this? You seem so impatient."
"No... I just... I just don’t like having hair... It’s itchy," Valerie pouted.
"Oh, my baby..." Damian kissed Valerie’s cheek. "So, you’re uncomfortable."
"Very uncomfortable!"
"Alright, I’ll help you later," Damian said, then kissed her lips.
Valerie responded to the kiss resignedly, closing her eyes, but in an instant, it was over. She opened her eyes again, seeing her husband covering her naked body up to her chest, then getting out of bed.
"You can rest, but don’t sleep. Don’t forget breakfast, drink milk, and start yoga," Damian said, then leaned down to kiss her stomach, and then her lips. "Now I’ll go."
"I’ll miss you," Valerie whispered.
Damian chuckled, feeling fond of Valerie, who seemed infatuated with him.
"I’ll miss you too, my love. We’ll only be apart for a few hours anyway!"
Valerie smiled.
"Now go before I take off your pants!" she teased.
"Oh, I like that, it’s a shame I have to go," Damian replied with a laugh, then quickly left the room.
He closed the door behind him, then walked towards the stairs and saw Daniel in the living room on the ground floor with Hans, seemingly ready for daycare.
"Hey, my boy, why haven’t you left yet?" he asked, hurriedly walking down the stairs.
Daniel immediately greeted Damian with a pout. "I want Daddy to take me!" he exclaimed.
"Oh, why?" Damian immediately crouched down, embraced Daniel, and looked at his cute face. "Didn’t Daddy take you yesterday?"
"Yes, but I always want to be with daddy... Daddy should always take me, like my friends with their dad!"
"But today, Daddy has to work, Daddy is almost late," Damian said calmly.
Daniel pouted instantly, letting go of his father’s hug.
"Oh, baby..." Damian stood up again and followed Daniel. "Okay, I’ll take you." He immediately picked him up and saw Hans, even though Fanny should have been there.
"Where’s Fanny?"
"She’s in the bathroom... Maybe she’ll be out in a moment," Hans replied.
"Alright, I’ll wait in the car," Damian replied, quickly walking towards the front door while still carrying Daniel, and Hans followed them.
...
Fanny opened the bedroom door, seeing them slowly moving out of her sight, then glanced at the quiet room.
"Alright, let’s do this now!" she whispered with a cunning smile, then quickly walked towards the stairs.
"Hmm, I should put it here."
She quickly took Daniel’s small beads, then scattered them on the first step from the top, and quickly walked down to the ground floor. The girl looked up, imagining Valerie coming out soon for breakfast, but she would fall on the stairs.
"I hope she not only miscarries but also dies, and no one will know that I am the perpetrator!" She smiled wickedly.
"Fanny!"
Her attention was diverted to Hans’ voice from the living room, making her hurry to him.
"Sorry... I still have a bit of a stomachache," she said, looking at Hans with irritation.
"Don’t make them wait for you too long!" Hans exclaimed.
"Them?"
Hans walked towards the front door. "Daniel will be taken by his father."
Fanny fell silent, continuing to follow Hans until they reached Damian’s car. She quickly got in, and her boss immediately drove the car to the gate.
Hans re-entered the mansion, heading to the kitchen and seeing Hannah helping Viviane wash the dishes.
"Hey," he greeted.
"Hans," Hannah replied with a smile. "I thought you had already left to take Daniel to daycare, it’s almost eight o’clock," she continued while wiping the still-wet dishes.
"He’s with his father."
"Oh... So, you’re free."
"Yeah... Maybe we could chat for a bit... In the pavilion," Hans said somewhat nervously, still smiling.
"If you want to talk, it’s okay now, I can handle everything here," Viviane said with a smile, looking beautiful with her long black hair tied up. "Besides, you’ve been helping me since earlier. You should rest," she continued.
"Let me finish this."
Suddenly Viviane’s attention was drawn to her ringing phone in the pantry, then she glanced at Hans.
"Hans, please answer. My hands are still wet," she said.
Hans quickly took the phone and saw a call from Valerie, then answered it.
"Ma’am?"
"Oh, Hans. I thought you took Daniel to daycare, it’s almost eight o’clock," Valerie said from the phone.
"He left with his father."
"Oh... But his father is in a hurry."
"Yes, but he insisted..."
"Alright, so are you in the kitchen now?"
"Yes, Ma’am."
"Please, tell Viviane to make milk for me, then also bake two or three croissants, and add chocolate jam and nuts," Valerie requested, sounding lazy. "I don’t feel like going to the kitchen, so ask her to bring it to me," she continued.
"Alright, I’ll tell her," Hans replied.
The phone call disconnected, and Hans immediately delivered the message to Viviane, who had finished washing the dishes.
...
In another place
A man was enjoying spud potato with peanut sauce on a sidewalk chair, along with Samuel who appeared quite mysterious, wearing a hat that partially showed his long hair, then his thick beard, and wearing sunglasses, so it could be guaranteed that people wouldn’t recognize him as Samuel.
"Now what’s your plan? I don’t think you can live peacefully if your status remains as a fugitive," the man said.
"I don’t have a plan," Samuel replied, eating hungrily as if he was starving.
"But you have to have a plan, you can’t just continue like this... I can’t let you keep working at my car wash because sometimes there will be customers who are police officers... I’m just worried if they recognize you and then they’ll arrest you and think that I’ve been hiding you all this time... I just don’t want to be in trouble," the man said again.
Samuel exhaled heavily, swallowing his last bite of food while staring ahead, observing the people around the small park near the apartment complex.
"So, are you asking me to turn myself into the police, then live in jail?" He asked with a sad look, recalling his previously good life. "My life is already too destroyed because I am obsessed with Valerie... I can’t go back home, my family hates me, I can’t use my car anymore... I can’t have what used to be mine before... I don’t want to feel worse by going back to jail... It’s very tough there... I can’t imagine if I have to sleep there, cold and dirty, the smell... And then I have to eat leftovers," he continued with a bitter look, then placed his empty styrofoam container beside him.
The man beside him hugged him from the side. 𝕗𝕣𝐞𝐞𝘄𝐞𝚋𝚗𝗼𝘃𝗲𝗹.𝚌𝕠𝚖
"I don’t want to go through that again, and I don’t want to be punished," Samuel said anxiously. "I want to be free, I want to start my life again without being chased by fear... I know I’m wrong and deserve this punishment but I really can’t bear it."
"In this world, nobody likes to be in jail," the man replied. "But if that’s your way to be accountable for your actions, then you have to do it... Then you’ll be free... After that, you can start your life again without fear," he continued.
Samuel fell silent, imagining the situation inside the prison.
"Maybe you’ll be in jail again for a few years or maybe you’ll show good behavior and have someone who can help you get released... Then you’ll be free... You have to go through every process to regain your freedom." The man gave advice again then released his hug on Samuel and patted his shoulder. "Now that you acknowledge your mistake, it means you know the consequences are punishment, I don’t mean to make you suffer, but this is your way to become better."
Samuel sighed and bowed his head, suddenly remembering Hannah.
"If I’m in jail, it... It means my status is a convict. It will be very bad for my future," he said then stood up to his friend who looked much older than him, even his hair and beard were already slightly white, and his slightly protruding belly was covered by a black shirt and jacket. "I have a wife who is pregnant... I left her just like that. All this time I couldn’t make you happy at all, I just always took advantage of you. I don’t want to make her suffer even more by making our child have the status of ’a convict’s child,’ isn’t that very bad?"
"It’s not that bad because it’s evidence that you’ve been punished for your actions, it’s better than your child having the status of a fugitive’s child,’ isn’t it?" the man asked, raising his eyebrows. "That would make the child feel very bad or even ashamed to admit you as their father... It’s the most painful thing."
Samuel turned his gaze away again, unable to deny that what his companion said was true, and that meant he had to fight his fear of life in prison.
