Return With the Billionaire Baby Daddy-Chapter 151: apologize
A few days passed...
Hannah had been allowed to leave the hospital, but she couldn’t walk yet, so she had to use a wheelchair with Hans pushing her while carrying a black backpack.
"After this, I want to visit my child’s grave," she said.
"Sure," Hans replied, continuing to push her.
Hannah fell silent again, staring ahead, feeling uncomfortable with her still-sore body and her heart so sad every time she looked at her stomach.
’I’m not pregnant anymore... What should I do now? Maybe I should stay in the pavilion again? I don’t think so... It’s better if I leave the pavilion and try to find a new job after I recover.’
"He’s here..." Hans slowed his pace when he saw Samuel walking towards them.
Hannah squinted, looking at Samuel who immediately reminded her of the night he left her and betrayed her trust, causing her to clench her fists.
Samuel stopped, looking at Hannah and then shifting his gaze to Hans. The man looked better than before, his hair was neatly shaved, but his beard was shaved a little thin.
"I want to talk to my wife," he said.
"You can talk here, and I’ll stay here!" Hans retorted sharply.
"But this is a personal matter..."
"Hans," Hannah whispered. "Go... You can come back here in 15 minutes," she continued.
Reluctantly, Hans went to another corridor, leaving Hannah alone with Samuel.
Samuel then pushed the wheelchair until they reached the waiting area in front of the obstetrician’s office, then sat down and looked at her flatly.
"We only have 15 minutes," Hannah said without looking at Samuel’s eyes. "Just say what you want!"
Samuel sighed, realizing that Hannah’s cold attitude towards him was a sign that she deeply resented him.
"I’m sorry for everything I’ve done... betrayal, deceit, then abandoning you... I truly apologize to you," he said anxiously.
"Apologies won’t change anything," Hannah replied.
"Yes... It won’t change anything, it won’t bring back our child..."
"I don’t think you ever cared about him."
"Was he a boy?" Samuel asked with sadness in his eyes.
Hannah remained silent.
"I love him, and I care about him... You have to understand that. Even though I always hurt you, then betrayed your trust, played with you, but I have affection..."
"Enough!" Hannah exclaimed, glaring sharply at Samuel. "No need to boast any more. I hate all of it... Your presence will only bring back my old wounds, you will only make me hurt and keep hurting!" she continued angrily, her breath even racing.
Samuel fell silent, disappointment evident in his eyes.
"I’m ashamed... I’m ashamed of my actions... I’m ashamed for trusting you... You just keep humiliating me!" Hannah exclaimed again.
"I know, but now I’ll be better..." Samuel immediately took a white envelope from the inside pocket of his blue shirt inside the gray jacket he was wearing, then opened it and took out a letter inside. "I got parole... This time I won’t waste this chance." He handed the letter to Hannah.
Hannah read the terms of the parole signed by Samuel, also seeing Damian’s and the police’s signatures. 𝐟𝚛𝕖𝚎𝕨𝗲𝐛𝚗𝐨𝐯𝐞𝕝.𝐜𝗼𝗺
"I’ll get a life sentence if I commit a crime again... And I won’t do it... Because I’ll focus on you, making you happy... We’ll start over. And don’t worry, I’ll get my assets back... I’ll return to work in Arizona," Samuel said with a smile but immediately looked worried when Hannah stared at him flatly. "We won’t have financial difficulties anymore... And maybe we’ll have another child..."
"Samuel..." Hannah sighed, looking deep into Samuel’s eyes.
"I’m broken, and you’re my only hope," Samuel whispered.
"You say that because you didn’t get Valerie... I’m just your last resort... I can’t." Hannah shook her head, her eyes teary. "I realize, being someone’s last choice is not what I want. It makes me look low... And it’s not real love."
"I love you." Samuel stopped Hannah, looking deeply into her eyes, then reaching for her hand. "Maybe before you were the last choice because I didn’t get Valerie, but now you’re the only one. When I get this freedom, you’re the only one on my mind... I want us back, to continue our marriage journey... I don’t want anyone but you... I won’t waste you anymore."
"No..." Hannah immediately pulled her hand away from Samuel.
Samuel frowned, disappointment evident in his expression.
"I can’t be with you anymore," Hannah said, then quickly wiped her tears, avoiding eye contact with Samuel. "It’s not because I don’t want to be your last choice, or embarrassed by all your actions... I’m glad you’re free and will have a better life... You’re not poor anymore... That’s good. But I can’t be with you anymore," she continued.
Samuel fell silent with disappointment, his heart pounding and his body feeling so weak because his heart was so hurt.
"I don’t love you anymore," Hannah said, looking back at Samuel. "No more love in my heart for you... I don’t know why... I really can’t be with you without love..."
"Is it because of the man who’s always with you?" Samuel asked with disappointment.
"No..." Hannah shook her head. "He has nothing to do with this. You have to remember... we got married because I was pregnant... I needed you to take responsibility... not because of love. The love was gone before we got married."
"I understand..." Samuel nodded and sighed, trying to contain the pain in his heart. "I am embarrassed... no wonder why love can go away."
"Sorry," Hannah whispered.
"No... don’t apologize, it’s not your fault... I was stupid, I was late to appreciate your love until I finally lost your love," Samuel replied, his face drooping, occasionally swallowing his saliva. He looked back at Hannah and smiled faintly. "You deserve to get better."
"You’ll find true love too."
"I don’t know... I don’t want to expect, it will only hurt me like before."
Hannah sighed, unable to see Samuel so pessimistic, making her feel guilty but she couldn’t accept him anymore.
"I’ll take care of our divorce papers... You just need to wait and I will take care of everything, you will not be my wife anymore," Samuel said again, folding the letter and putting it back into the envelope. He immediately stood up, but Hannah reached for his hand.
He swallowed his saliva, looking back down at Hannah in the hope that this was a sign that she would stop him from leaving. What if Hannah gave him a chance? Does he deserve that?
