Return With the Billionaire Baby Daddy-Chapter 164: Tristan’s confession to Damian
At 10 in the morning...
Valerie didn’t know what to do; Daniel was at school, and she had finished exercising, now smelling good and beautiful in a blue dress with open sleeves, her hair flowing freely. She left the room and found her husband sitting casually on the side terrace, playing with his phone.
"Hmm... How he enjoys his time," she said with a thin smile, then approached her husband.
"You’re like a kid enjoying a long vacation." She took her husband’s phone and then sat on his lap.
"Hey... I’m playing a game!" Damian tried to grab his phone back.
"No..."
"Honey, please... It’s a new game..."
"I don’t care..." Valerie shook her head, smiling, then placed Damian’s phone near his lazy legs.
Damian immediately pouted.
"I’m lonely," Valerie said again, embracing Damian’s neck while looking at his handsome but still sulking face. "Tell me what you want... Your phone, or me forever. I have many functions... and do you want your wife to be lonely in difficult times because she’s carrying your child?" She asked, raising her eyebrows.
Instantly Damian smiled.
"Of course, I don’t want that... It makes me feel like a useless husband," he said.
"Hmm..." Valerie smiled, gazing at Damian’s face. "So what will you do to keep your wife from being lonely?"
"Umm..."
"Tell me..."
"Maybe..." Damian bit his lower lip, and then his hands caressed Valerie’s waist, moving up to her breasts.
"Can it be something other than sex?" Valerie asked. "There are many things women want besides sex! Even sex is exhausting when you’re heavily pregnant."
"So, tell me what you want," Damian requested.
"Massage."
"Massage?" Damian raised his eyebrows.
Valerie just smiled, then quickly got up from his lap, walking towards the bedroom.
Damian immediately followed her until they reached the bedroom. She immediately lounged on the bed, wiggling her toes.
"Massage me, from the feet to the calves," Valerie said.
Damian smiled faintly, then sat on the edge of the bed and began to hold her feet. He massaged her gently, looking at her nails which were starting to grow long with a natural clean color.
"Don’t you want to use nail polish?" he asked.
"Hmm... I don’t like it," Valerie replied, furrowing her brows and looking at her nails. "I don’t like wearing nail polish or other decorations. It makes me feel uncomfortable, my nails feel thick and dirty... I prefer natural."
"Yeah... And I like it too." Damian lifted Valerie’s foot and kissed it.
"Maybe it stinks!" Valerie immediately pulled her foot back, but Damian held it. "I have trouble brushing them... They must smell!"
Damian chuckled, looking at Valerie with her big belly; it made sense that she struggled to bend over to clean her toenails.
"I’ll help you," he said while continuing to massage.
Valerie sighed. "Yes... It’s better than me having to clean them at the salon. I might vomit because I don’t like the hair treatment scents there... There must be a lot of women getting their hair treated."
"You like everything natural... Even your beautiful hair is natural..."
"Hmm... Maybe I’ll cut it when our baby is one month old."
"Why?" Damian furrowed his brows, imagining Valerie with short hair, for some reason it gave him shivers.
"The baby will grab my hair. That would be bad!"
"Hmmm... But I don’t like women with short hair."
Valerie immediately rolled her eyes. "So, what does it mean when you say you’ll always love me in all situations if, in the end, you’ll say you don’t like me just because I have short hair?" she asked with a sarcastic look.
"Um..." Damian immediately got nervous.
"Are you going to try to find a new girl right away who will charm you because of her long hair? Then you’ll just discard me because I have short hair, even though you know I have short hair to avoid our child’s attacks?"
"No..." Damian shook his head. "It’s not like that, honey..."
Valerie immediately pouted and pulled her foot away. "Don’t massage me anymore. You’re mean... You don’t love me sincerely... You just want me to stay like this, maybe you’ll turn away from me when I’m old!" She immediately lay down and turned her position, hugging a pillow.
"Honey..." Damian sighed. "Why are you getting angry? I haven’t even explained yet!"
Valerie just remained silent, not wanting to listen to Damian until suddenly she heard a knock on the door from outside, but that didn’t make her respond. She chose to stay in that position and let her husband open the door.
...
Damian saw Viviane.
"What’s up?"
"Mr. Tristan Handers is here with his wife, they’re waiting for you," Viviane explained.
Damian furrowed his brows instantly remembering Tristan’s strange behavior and Karina’s at the hospital, and at that time Fanny’s condition was getting worse.
"Okay, I’ll meet them," he said flatly.
Viviane nodded and then stepped back a few steps, letting Damian pass as he left the room to the stairs leading to the ground floor.
...
In the living room, Karina sat anxiously and kept hugging Tristan’s arm, her anxiety growing as she saw Damian coming with his usual indifferent gaze, not as friendly as usual, as if he already disliked their presence.
"Could he already suspect me?" she whispered so softly.
"It’s better you stay quiet, I’ll do the talking," Tristan whispered back, glancing at Karina.
Karina immediately took a long breath, feeling so suffocated especially since her big belly was also part of the reason she felt suffocated.
"Very surprised you came here," Damian said, sitting on another sofa, right in the corner opposite Tristan and Karina.
Tristan smiled thinly, suddenly feeling nervous.
"The last time we met, you both seemed tense and didn’t want to talk to me," Damian said, frowning seriously at them. "That really made me curious, wondering what happened to both of you..."
"Um... Actually, at that time we were experiencing a little misunderstanding," Tristan said anxiously.
"Oh really? What kind of misunderstanding?"
"Um... that..."
"Ah, it’s not an important issue!" Damian didn’t let Tristan finish. "Now just tell me what your purpose is for coming here... Isn’t that the most important thing?"
Tristan nodded then bit his lower lip, looking at Damian with uncertainty, remembering how easily he got emotional and furious, making him afraid to be honest now.
’Oh no... But I have to say it to resolve this issue... If not, Karina will remain the villain and scared woman. This is part of my way of showing her that I can make her calm again in any situation,’ he thought.
Damian remained silent with his serious gaze, especially on Karina who didn’t even dare to look into his eyes.
’I’m sure there’s something,’ he thought.
"Damian," Tristan whispered anxiously, grabbing Damian’s attention once again. "I... Actually, I know something that surprised me too. But I hope you can accept this and... And forgive."
Damian furrowed his brow. "What do you mean? Why should I forgive? I’m not God!"
"I know, but this has made you and Valerie feel unsafe," Tristan explained, then glanced at Karina. "My wife... She made a mistake... A huge mistake, which caused Hannah to lose her baby."
Damian suddenly took a deep breath, feeling suffocated, his eyes sharpening, recalling the issue of Hannah falling down the stairs.
"So, it was you who instructed Fanny?" He asked, focusing on Karina.
Karina just nodded.
"Why did you do that? Did you also go to the hospital to see Fanny and make her critical again?"
Once again, Karina just nodded, too afraid to meet Damian’s eyes.
Damian immediately clenched his teeth, tightened his fists, and quickly stood up, grabbing the flower vase in front of him, throwing it to the ground, shattering it into pieces.
