Revenge Begins: Reincarnated as a Hated Idol!-Chapter 53: Unexpected Leverage
"Lucian Valcourt."
Aren’s eyes widened as soon as he heard that name.
And then, his lips curled upward in a scheming, delightful smile.
He has just received an unexpected opportunity—an opportunity to strike at Titan Crest Entertainment and, indirectly, at Neil Valcourt.
But first, he needed some information, and fortunately, he had the perfect candidate to give it to him.
And just at that moment, this perfect candidate called him.
His phone rang...
Letting Lisa stay in his embrace, he reached inside his pocket, taking out his phone, showing Livia’s name on the screen.
He picked up the call, bringing the phone to his ear, and as soon as he did that, Livia’s frustrated voice resounded in his ear:
"Where are you? The director is looking for you. It’s time to resume the shooting."
It was still afternoon, and the shooting was scheduled to continue until evening.
This was the reason why Lisa was still in her makeup room when Aren had gone to talk to her.
Currently, it was only a small break for them to have something to eat before shooting resumed.
"Sorry, Livia. I’ll be there in a sec." Aren answered in a hurried voice: "I also need to ask you something, so don’t leave."
He cut the call, not even allowing Livia to respond before yanking the phone back into his pocket.
"Lisa," Aren said, caressing her hair gently: "We need to return to the set. I’ll need to ask the director to postpone the shoot."
"Mm..." Lisa nodded in understanding, letting go of Aren’s warmth reluctantly, a solemn, sad smile hanging on her lips as she tried to put up a strong front.
"Alright, let’s go."
She rose to her feet, trying to appear unperturbed; however, Aren could see her shivering hand. She was scared.
Aren stood up, holding her shivering hand, showing that he was there for her.
Noticing his hand holding hers, she looked at him with a startled expression, only to receive a gentle smile in response.
She felt a surge of emotions stirring in her heart as Aren walked in front of her, allowing her to follow him with her hand held tightly by him.
...
In front of the hotel, a female reporter named Aris Kest, belonging to the media house Bohn, waited for Aren and Lisa, with a camera in her hand.
She was in her private car, parked inconspicuously outside the hotel, enabling her to click pictures without getting noticed.
Her cousin was the receptionist of the hotel, allowing her to get notified regarding Aren and Lisa checking in and booking a single room.
Being a young junior reporter, she wished to climb higher.
After noticing her seniors getting promoted after writing articles regarding Aren, she decided to focus on Aren as well however, recently there had been little news about him.
In addition to that, he usually doesn’t appear in public or at any event.
But today turned out to be her lucky day.
Aren and Lisa checking into a hotel room together—she could already feel the headlines in her head.
At this moment, she noticed Aren and Lisa walking out, the former holding the later’s hand firmly.
She quickly brought the camera to her eye and began clicking a barrage of pictures, tapping the capture button rapidly as if she would miss a critical moment if she were slower even by a millisecond.
Only after Aren and Lisa disappeared from her sight did she stop taking the pictures.
"Now," She smiled excitedly, licking her lips. "Let’s select the best ones to publish."
But when she saw the pictures, her eyes widened as if she had won a jackpot.
She hadn’t paid attention to Aren and Lisa before, engrossed in taking pictures. 𝘧𝘳𝘦ℯ𝓌𝘦𝒷𝘯𝑜𝑣𝘦𝓁.𝒸𝘰𝓂
However, now when she looked at the pictures, she noticed many things—perfect for spreading gossip.
In the pictures, Aren was dressed as Chris, a corporate employee.
He was donning a formal plain white shirt and black pants; however, his shirt had marks of lipstick and makeup, which Aris noticed right away.
As for Lisa, her hair and makeup were disheveled a little, pointing to something that could turn into a perfect gossip.
"I’ve struck gold, hahaha." Aris laughed joyfully inside her car, unable to hide her glee.
In the meantime, Aren was having a conversation with the director, asking him to postpone the shoot to tomorrow.
His answer?
"Aren, a delay in shooting costs the production a lot of money, but..."
Suddenly, his serious expression changed, and he winked with a smile:
"We have a generous budget. Moreover, you rarely make mistakes while shooting, so our shoot is proceeding smoothly as it is. Hence, it’s not a problem."
And like that, the shooting for the day was wrapped up.
As for Aren, he took Lisa and Livia to the hotel he was staying in.
He booked the same private room Livia had done when they first met.
Livia sat on one sofa, Aren and Lisa sitting across from her.
Aren first informed Livia about the situation concerning Lisa, letting her get a hold of what was going on.
She remained silent for a while, glancing at Lisa and then Aren.
Then, she let out a sigh, fixing her gaze on Aren: "Can I talk to you outside for a moment?"
Aren gave a nod of approval, leaving the room with her.
Once they were standing alone, Livia frowned, asking in a suppressed voice: "What do you think you are doing? Why are you getting into a mess you don’t have anything to do with?"
Aren was stunned momentarily by her response, staring at her with a dazed expression.
Only after a few seconds passed did he reply: "What do you mean? Didn’t you hear how dire her situation is?"
"Yes, I did." She sighed helplessly. "But we cannot do anything about it. This is a well-thought-out trap, and nothing can be done about it."
Livia was confident that there was no way out for Lisa, but when she saw Aren’s lips curl upwards as if mocking her, she couldn’t help but ask with an irritated glare: "What? You think you can help her?"
Aren didn’t say anything, only widening his smile in response and giving a confident, calm nod.
His smile then retracted, a serious shine in his eyes: "But I need your help," he said.
Livia nodded in understanding, sighing in defeat: "Alright, tell me your plan. Let me judge if it’s feasible enough to let you carry it forward. I can’t let my employer end his career because of someone else’s mess, right?"
Aren gave a silent nod, agreeing with her reasoning before speaking: "But first I need you to tell me some things about the current situation of Titan Crest Entertainment."
Livia folded her hands, lifting her bust a little in the process as she said indifferently: "Ask."
"Let’s go inside first," Aren suggested with a polite smile. "Lisa must be getting anxious alone in there."
