Chapter 21

"You can trust me." Lilian reassured me with a teary smile. But then, her eyes brightened as she sighted the bunch of keys on the ground where whatever remnants of Dante was left.

"Ohh my goodness, where did you get those?" She asked, rushing over to pick up the keys in excitement. 𝚏𝕣𝕖𝚎𝚠𝚎𝚋𝚗𝐨𝐯𝕖𝕝.𝕔𝐨𝕞

"Dante had them on him. Turns out he killed all allies and claimed their points. For someone so young, that’s pure evil."

"Does this mean we get to claim these points now? Does this mean we pass?" She asked, all the pain and sadness in her tone now replaced with pure excitement.

"I mean, yeah we can’t just leave them laying around." I replied with a shrug. This has been my strategy from the start, wait for the high ranks to retrieve points from the low ranks and then go after the high ranks and collect all the points they gathered. Too bad it had to end with Dante alone.

I wasn’t someone who fought pointless battles, not like I’d go around still trying to fight and gather points when I already had more than enough to pass. Although I wouldn’t hesitate to rip off the head and limbs of anyone who tried to fight me all in the name of points.

"So how do we share this? You’ll give me some right?" Lilian asked, giving me a cute look with her lips pouted like that was supposed to go something.

"Just take what you need and give me the rest." I said casually, now turning to head to the flowing stream I’m sure was nearby. It now made sense why the would include a stream in this dimension. I reeked of blood, and anyone who saw me might actually freak out.

Lilian followed closely behind me, handing me the rest of the keys. Four of them had fifteen points and five others had ten points, and there was an extra one with five points, that must have been Dante’s. Seems she took exactly the ninety points she needed.

We both arrived at the stream moments later, and to my surprise, I wasn’t the only one. Several others I didn’t really recognized were already seated there, some with their shirts off, others looked wrecked. Only two looked put together, and they were a team.

I didn’t recognize them, never seen them before. If they still looked that clean with all the time that has passed since we got inside this dimension, it was either they hadn’t retrieved any points yet and no one had attempted to retrieve theirs, or they were just so strong and didn’t even break a sweat during combats and had finally retrieved the points they needed and came here to rest.

A few eyes turned to me as we walked closer to the stream, but I ignored their stares and quietly took of my shirt. The cleanup didn’t take long, without interruption from anyone, I was done in less than five minutes, including washing my shirt clean. Lilian remained standing at a corner, watching everything. Was she reading their minds? I wonder.

Everyone here were clearly minding their business, which was more proof that they’d all passed, they all had hundred points and more so they saw no need to collect more. At least i was free from any idiot jumping out to attack me.

"Lucian, be careful... those two clean looking cowards haven’t yet gathered points. They’re planning to ambush everyone else here when we least expect it." Lilian’s innate voice cut through my mind.

I turned to her, and our eyes met..."I fucking new something was up with them. Act fool for now, I’ll handle it. I can tell they’re high ranks, too bad they’re cowards." I said in my head, sure that Lilian heard every word.

She gave me a nod of approval. I squeezed my shirt hard which I’d just finished washing, making sure every drop of water came off. Then I put it on, ignoring the wrinkles. I was already done washing the blood off my arms too.

Then with a lazy smile...I walked up to them. The other people around turned to look at me, their eyes widening with disbelief like I was walking to my death.

"Hi." I called out to one of them, he was slim tall, his hands crossed over his chest, his dyed dark bluish hard swept backwards neatly. Was he here to aura farm or what? Because why did he actually look cool with that pose.

I stood right in front of them once I got to where they both stood leaning against a tree. The aura farming motherfucker ignored my hi.. but that didn’t matter.

I reached for my pockets, bringing out all the keys I’d retrieved including mine, then I aligned them in order and showed it to them. You might think this was a foolish move, but it was more dangerous to just sit around and wait for them to carry out their ambush. Who knew what tricks they were planning to pull. Besides, approaching them when they least expected it would disrupt their plan.

"I have a deal for you both." I said, showing them the keys. "I need you both to have a duel, the winner gets to keep all these keys." Turning allies against eachother was the best way to ruin harmony.

Everyone around that heard what I’d just said turned to me, their attention now focused on me.

"What the hell is that fool saying? Does he have a death wish?" One of the people watching said, and the rest bursted out laughing.

"I know that guy, isn’t he the weakest F-rank awakener? How did he get that many keys in such a short time?" Another added.

"And who the fuck do you think you are to make a deal with us? We could just kill you and take them from you." The other guy, not the aura farming dude but his partner asked, his eyes glinting with both mockery and rage, like I’d pushed the wrong button.

A small confident smirk tugged my lips as our eyes met, then almost like a switch, my expression turned dark and expressionless as my eyes glinted with purple light. "You can try." My clone which I’d released moments before approaching them spoke from behind him, a dagger pressing tightly to his neck.
