Rewriting My Fate in the Apocalypse-Chapter 55: Enhancing Abilities

"Okay, you continue to practice. I’ll go next door to practice mine. By the way, here is some spiritual spring water to replenish your energy once you run out or are tired.

You will practice faster with a way to recover faster." Leng Pan said as she produced two one-liter bottles filled with spiritual spring water and placed them on the sink.

"Okay, thanks baby." Lu Zhen said with a smile and watched as she left the bathroom and closed the door.

He turned to the water bottles and picked one up and unscrewed the cap. He took a sip and replaced the cap again before going back to stand next to the bathtub.

After that one sip, he felt more energetic and started to practice controlling the flames.

Leng Pan, after walking into the guestroom went directly to the bathroom and filled the bathtub with water.

She planned to try the idea she had thought of during breakfast. If she could successfully absorb water, then she was sure that her ability could be enhanced faster than before.

Once the bathtub was full, she took off her clothes and sat inside. The warm water opened her pores and she closed her eyes, feeling comfortable.

She had never felt so at home before when she sat in the bathtub. It seemed that she was right, he affinity with water had increased.

With her eyes closed, she concentrated on trying to absorb water into her body. She was doing the opposite of what she had been doing before. Instead of concentrating to produce water, she was now trying to absorb it.

She felt her pores stretch and the water in the tub seemed to have a mind of it’s own. Turning into a gas like state and drilling into her pores. The process was extremely painful. It felt like someone was forcing something into her body and it was uncomfortable.

However, when she realized that despite the pain, water was indeed being absorbed, she decided to endure it. As the saying goes, ’no pain, no gain’.

If she couldn’t even endure this little pain, how was she going to become stronger and protect her loved ones?

As such, she spent the entire afternoon sitting in the bathtub to absorb water. It wasn’t easy and the pain didn’t lessen. It took her more than three hours to absorb all the water in the bathtub.

She was actually shocked. When she finished absorbing the water and stopped the process, the pain also stopped and was replaced by a comfortable feeling.

She didn’t know where all that water went because she didn’t feel any different, but she felt more energetic, as if she had recharged.

She stood up from the bathtub and went to the closet to pick up a new outfit. Even though this was a guestroom, there were still clothes that fit her in the closet.

After changing, she decided to go and see if Lu Zhen was still practicing. Her husband was too hardworking. But that was a good thing. If both of them became powerful, they could curve a path for themselves in the apocalyptic world.

She had no plans of holding him back like the book had described. Instead, she was going to become his biggest support in reaching the top. Just as he had done in the business world, she was sure he would succeed in the apocalyptic world.

She pushed the door open and walked inside. Lu Zhen was concentrating on controlling the flames in his hand and turning them into the shape of a small dagger.

She noticed that his flames had grown bigger. It was no longer the size of a tennis ball but the size of a baseball.

The difference wasn’t that big, but for an afternoon’s progress? It was something to celebrate.

Feeling the eyes on him, Lu Zhen extinguished the flames and looked at his freshly bathed wife and her tender skin and wanted to curse his brother.

He hoped that the boy had made progress in his ability to control his superpower, otherwise, he was going to go crazy soon if he couldn’t touch his wife.

Taking a bottle of water, he drank the remaining water in it and instantly felt rejuvenated.

"Are you done with your practice?" Lu Zhen asked his wife as he walked up to her.

"Yes, I did something different this afternoon and came to see you as soon as I was done." Leng Pan replied with a bright smile.

She was happy about the progress she had made.

"Oh! What different thing did you do?" Lu Zhen asked with interest when he saw the smile on her lips. How he wanted to kiss those lips.

"Instead of trying to create water, I absorbed water instead. I figured that absorbing water could probably enhance my ability, so I spent the entire afternoon absorbing a full bathtub." She replied with some pride in a tone.

Lu Zhen was surprised that she had come with such an idea. But he knew that his girl was clever, so, it wasn’t too shocking that she could think outside the box.

He was happy for her. Unfortunately for his, he could not absorb flames. But he did get an idea. Instead of extinguishing his flames after use, he could try to retract them into his body. This should be a way to save energy too.

"Give me a few minutes to shower then we can go check what the others are doing and have dinner." Lu Zhen said after thinking about what he would do to train tomorrow.

"Okay, I’ll wait for you." Leng Pan replied then left the bathroom.

She remembered her thoughts of turning one of the guestrooms into a gym and headed to the one at the end of the corridor.

She took everything inside and with a wave of her hand, they disappeared into thin air. After putting everything into the space, she brought out the workout machines and placed them in the room.

She didn’t really know how to arrange a gym and just put them anyhow.

She would ask Lu Zhen for his help later. They were going to use the gym together anyway.
