Chapter 23: Hidden Cave

Splash!

The sound of water splashing attracted the attention of the villagers there. They quickly raised their head and all they could see was the raging bull coming to their location. Even though there was a river that separated them from the bull, they didn't think that it would be enough to stop the bull.

Was bull afraid of water?

Splash! The bull also decisively entered the water. It stopped for a moment as it was trying to search the bad human who wanted to harm his face.

"BULL!"

"There's a bull here!"

"it's already a rank 1 beast!"

"HELP!"

One of them prepared his bow and aimed towards the bull.

Dzing!

The bull hit the bull's head. The bull looked towards the villager as its eyes turned red once more. After meeting one insolent human, he now met with more insolent humans who dared to harm him?

MOOOOOOOOOO!

(Who dares to harm my handsome face again? I'll pummel you to the ground and turn you into mince meat!)

The bull swiftly changed its target and headed towards the villagers with its head lowered, ready to pounce on them. Since the river was quite shallow in some places, the bull directly headed to the other side and then rushed over to the villagers.

It was ready to destroy whoever dared to harm its handsome face.

'It's good that the bull is stupid.'

Inside the water, Lin Xiao peeked out to take a breath. He nodded in satisfaction when he saw the villagers were busy fighting the bull and didn't seem to pay attention to the river at all. Since it was the case, he better stayed away from here and let the hunting squad members enjoyed his present to them.

But of course, Lin Xiao didn't move from the water.

What a joke. If the bull suddenly got attracted to him again, it would be his death. He better stayed inside the water and carefully swam back to his hut and tried his luck to hunt later.

Splash!

The water splashed a bit as Lin Xiao submerged into the water once more. He swam carefully and tread the water as he continued to travel. The depth was only one to two meters, so it was not that deep.

Not many people liked to swim in the river, though. After all, the location of the river was a distance away from the villager, so there might be a beast coming. If they got attacked when they were playing, it would be a very interesting scene.

Before long, Lin Xiao had already reached the area where he wouldn't be seen by the villagers even if he came out. However, he still kept swimming inside the water and tried his luck to find some fishes.

'There's no fishes here.'

It was unfortunate, but there was no fish on sight that Lin Xiao could see. Even if there was any, it was all too small. They were only at the size of his pinky finger's tip, which was extremely small. Even if he caught them, he would need more than 100 to get full from eating such small fishes.

He didn't want to waste his time.

Splash!

Lin Xiao glanced to the side and noticed that he was near the mountain. Just a few more meters and he would reach the mountain's side where he usually gathered herbs. He looked to the back and nodded in satisfaction when he saw that there was no one who chase after him.

While he also wanted to get a portion of that bull, he didn't want to die yet. It would be better to let those who had already capable enough to deal with the bull while he gave way to them.

Splash!

Lin Xiao chose to continue swimming since he had never swum in this area before. Probably he would be luckier and find some fishes.

'Hmmm, it's darker over there.'

Lin Xiao noticed that one side of the rocks at the bottom of the lake looked a shade darker compared to the rest. It was as if the rocks were painted black or there was actually a path over there.

He swam closer and realized that it was truly a path. However, it was too dark to see anything further than two meters.

'Should I try to explore?'

Well, he already failed to get anything from the hunt's trial before, so he might be able to make it up by trying to explore this place.

Swimming up, Lin Xiao took a deep breath then he returned back to the cave. Slowly but surely, he swam inside while trying his best to look at his surroundings. The path was narrow because he could easily touch the wall with his hands. However, it was still as dark as ever.

The deeper he went, the darker it was.

'How long is this tunnel?'

Lin Xiao was starting to worry about his breath when he suddenly saw faint light from the front. Cheering inside his heart, he swam faster towards the direction of the light. Just a bit more and he would be able to get out….

Splash!

Getting out of the water, Lin Xiao took a deep breath. It never felt this good to be able to breathe again. He looked around him as he noticed that he was inside a cave.

"Where am I?"
