Chapter 380 Ominous Unknowns

[Moments Later]

Guildmaster Paul, known to his allies as Pariah, returned to his office within the Gifted Alliance Headquarters.

The room was a testament to his meticulous nature, each Item carefully arranged, and each piece of knowledge organized with precision.

Paul entered, his steps measured and deliberate. His presence filled the room with an air of authority and determination.

His gaze swept over the pristine office, and a faint smile tugged at the corners of his lips.

Despite the chaos that often reigned outside, this was his sanctuary.

Inside, along with him, were his team leaders.

Nye, Lisa, Tia, and Luke were all giving him the same looks of awe as always.

It never got old for him, and he embraced the vibe while moving behind his desk in his office.

"Good work, everyone," Paul said as he sat, his sincere gaze meeting his team leaders. "We've dealt a significant blow to the demons, and your efforts are invaluable in maintaining our defenses. Keep up the good work, and ensure that our members are well-informed and prepared for any situation."

Nye nodded, his eyes reflecting the fatigue of battle but also a sense of accomplishment.

"Of course, Guildmaster. We'll make sure the Gifted Alliance stands strong."

Lisa chimed in, "And our Items are in perfect condition, ready to support us in the next battle."

Tia's voice, soft but determined, added, "I'll continue to gather intelligence and ensure we're never caught off guard."

Luke grinned, "The fortress is as secure as ever, Guildmaster. Nothing's getting past us."

Paul's eyes shone with pride as he addressed his team.

"Thank you, my friends. Now, you may all take a well-deserved break. Be on standby and reassure our members that we're ready for whatever comes next."

With nods of acknowledgment, the team leaders began to file out of the office, leaving Paul alone.

"Haaaa…"

He waited until the last of them had left, and then he called out in a calm yet commanding tone;

"Lilith."

In an instant, a shimmering distortion appeared in the air before him, and Lilith materialized into existence.

Her stark white hair and red eyes were a striking contrast to the room's subdued colors. Her presence, as always, was formidable.

"How was the battle?" Her voice echoed in the room.

"Not too difficult. Those were mere dregs… nothing to worry about."

"I see…"

Paul regarded her with a mixture of curiosity and concern.

She seemed a little too dull for his tastes.

"Lily, has anything happened in my absence? Did anyone intrude into my office?"

Lilith met his gaze, her crimson eyes unwavering. "No, Guildmaster," she replied, her voice steady and composed.

"Your office remained undisturbed."

Then why was she acting up so much? It wasn't like her to keep secrets from him.

Especially with how she saw him.

'Maybe she's still not used to my decision on how we are going to move forward from now on.'

Still, he knew it was only going to be a matter of time before she would return to normal.

Plus, since she would always be by his side, there was nothing to fear.

Paul nodded, though a hint of tension remained in his expression. He trusted Lilith implicitly, of course, but recent events had put him on edge.

"Very well. Thank you for your vigilance, Lilith. We must remain prepared for anything."

Lilith's gaze softened as she regarded Paul.

"Always. I'll be by your side, ready to protect you and the Gifted Alliance."

'Attagirl!' He grinned.

With a nod of gratitude, Paul turned his attention back to the room, his thoughts returning to the ongoing battle and the challenges that lay ahead.

The fate of humanity rested on their shoulders, and they were determined to face whatever came their way.

'Whatever it takes!'

Deep underground, in the heart of a cavern shrouded in eternal darkness, a sinister presence stirred.

The air was thick with an otherworldly chill, and the atmosphere was stifling, as if the very earth itself recoiled from the malevolence that emanated from the cavern's depths.

From the depths of a swirling portal that appeared like a tear in reality, a demon emerged.

But this was no ordinary demon; this was a figure that wore a suit of darkest obsidian, a stark contrast to the cavern's shadows.

His body, covered in a light ebony complexion, exuded an aura of unnerving sophistication.

With long, white hair cascading around his shoulders, the demon stepped forward into the cavern.

His red eyes glowed with malevolent intelligence as he surveyed his surroundings.

This demon was different; he possessed a mind sharper than any blade, and his ambitions transcended the mere savagery of his kin. 𝑏𝑒𝑑𝑛𝘰𝑣𝑒𝘭.𝑐𝑜𝑚

His lips curled into a malicious smile as he whispered to himself,

"It actually worked!" His voice, dripping with malice, echoed ominously in the cavern's depths.

His arrival seemed to be no mere accident; it was the result of a carefully orchestrated plan.

The demon knew that the time was not yet ripe for the full-scale invasion of the human world by his demonic brethren.

But he had a role to play, a crucial part in the unfolding of the Scenario.

He needed to ensure that the way was paved for his kind to descend upon the unsuspecting humans.

As he continued to mutter in hushed tones, his red eyes gleamed with anticipation.

"It seems it's only just the second wave, yet I arrived early. Thankfully, the administrators aren't present. I still don't know how father knew of that…"

With deliberate steps, the demon moved deeper into the cavern.

The walls seemed to writhe and whisper, acknowledging his presence.

He knew that the humans had better brace themselves, for the darkness was rising, and their world was on the brink of a cataclysmic change.

In a final whisper, barely audible even in the oppressive silence of the cavern, the demon vowed, "Prepare yourselves, mortals."

And with that, he vanished from his position, leaving behind only the lingering feeling of impending doom.

After all, this one that just appeared belonged to the last batch of calamities to befall the world.

The final wave that was yet to come!
