"I don’t want to become someone who’s always just surviving. I want to be someone who fights through, who stands up and pushes forward. Because if I can’t, then what’s left of the warrior I thought I was?"

"Now, it’s time for you to teach me the essence refining technique you mentioned before so I can refine this molten core"

[Unexpected] Zydrax remarks. [I thought you would wait till after the expedition to do that]

The nascent realm entails refining nascent rank treasures into absorbable essence by extracting the nova essence within them.

For this part, the treasure is usually given to alchemists to extract the essence into a separate container.

This ensures the purity and effectiveness of the essence as it allows higher beings to absorb a larger percentage of the nova essence.

This absorbed essence is then used to progressively refine the body, until it’s refined in its entirety.

The techniques used to do this are called nova refinement techniques or nova refinement methods.

As with everything else, nova refinement techniques had tiers; low, high and top.

Each of these categories dictate a large performance margin, granting owners of top tier techniques an edge above others.

Naturally, the Infinitesimal Blood Clot Storm technique Zydrax intends to teach is top tier.

Anyways, one such nascent rank treasure is the molten core Ezra had managed to obtain.

Unlike typical nascent treasures, such as the miscellaneous shards Ezra had also gained, the molten core is a step higher in quality.

It lay concentrated with a particular essence type, this one of the fire element and grants much purer essence than the shards.

But as an effect of its purity, only people with fire affinity or fire related abilities are dispositioned to absorb its essence because beyond being of a purer state, such essence strengthens fire abilities in a multitude of ways.

Hotter flames, Increased attack range, easier control or a whole new subset skill.

Hence why the other beasts were red eyed trying to get it.

But if a person proceeded to absorb it without the requirements, he/she would suffer a heavy backlash, with the exact nature of this backlash varying depending on what refining technique is used.

There lay other treasures, similar to the Molten core in regards to other elements, such as the frost core or torch of light.

Rather narrating, Zydrax begins transmitting the techniques manual straight into his subconscious alongside visual demonstration taken from Zydrax’s memory.

The transmission occurred in bits and pieces, taking over an hour before completion.

After which, it took another twenty minutes for Ezra to completely assimilate it.

Once done, his eyes shut open, a gaze of seriousness etched on his face.

Cut marks appear on his arm, to which blood begins to gush.

As it did, Ezra’s skin gradually turned pale but his expression didn’t change.

Rather splatter on the floor, the stream of blood lay suspended in the air, floating.

Moving the splosh of blood like limbs, Ezra picks up the molten core and then envelopes it with blood in the shape of a sphere.

His blood, black from the imbuement of poison, barred the molten core from visible sight, but Ezra could feel its positioning within the blood sphere so clearly it acted better than sight.

Twisting his limbs, the blood sphere develops numerous tiny spikes within and begins rotating.

Picking up speed, the blood sphere began shredding the shard.

As it shattered, the essence within it burst out, but was contained.

The blood sphere continued to grind its shards for ten minutes, till each particle of it be smaller than a drop of blood, with the essence within the shard now imbued within the blood sphere.

Yet Ezra continued to spin the blood sphere for another ten minutes, infusing his own energy into it during this time.

Done, he stops the blood sphere from spinning,

Throughout this procession, Ezra had strained himself so he wouldn’t faint from blood loss while maintaining the blood sphere’s ferocious momentum.

Now, the surface of the blood sphere lay imbued with both shine and shimmer.

Exhaling, Ezra arms move and the blood sphere splits back into splodges which Ezra absorbs back into his body through the cut marks on his arm.

As the splodges of blood return back into his body, his arm mends and the cut marks heals.

Here, Ezra closes his eyes, and clasps his palms together, feeling the entirety of blood as it flowed through him.

Taking a deep breath, he initiates the second phase of the refinement technique, takes control of all the blood in body, rendering his heart inactive and puts it in a state of overdrive by causing it to spin.

Just like the blood sphere, the speed at which it spun grew, and as it did, his blood began to heat up.

While doing this, Ezra tries to release his own energy, but it’s caught in the chaotic blood stream just as planned and combines with the nova essence already there, accelerating its heat levels.

Here, steam rises from Ezra’s as his inner parts are layered with nova essence.

As one would guess, the measure of pain shot through the roof, but Ezra endures, smiling even as his body becomes more powerful by the second.

’Everything to become stronger’

With the passing of a calm minute, the steam rising from his body gains colour—a bright shimmering red.

From afar, it looked like he was emitting glittering dust.

But even that came to a stop with the passing of another minute.

As it ceases, Ezra releases control and like a lie, the chaotic bloodstream rapidly calms and cools.

Before long, the bloodstream returns to its natural state of movement.

But now, it was inlaid with nova essence in its entirety.

Grinding a nascent treasure to the smallest particle possible within a construct of blood and then absorbing the blood into one’s body.

Following that, you would wait a while for the blood to mix well into the bloodstream.

Then, you would imbue with your own essence and as you did, you would put your bloodstream into a chaotic spin till it mirrored a raging storm, as it is on this part that the essence imbued into the blood is most accurately layered onto the entire body’s internal system.

This is the practical demonstration of the Infinitesimal Blood Clot Storm technique.

But Ezra’s work is only a quarter done.

To finalize things, he grinds the rest of the shards into a blood sphere and repeats the process.

With the molten core already imbued, the body’s resistance to it had noticeably decreased and so did the pain.

Now, the work is half done.

But Ezra intended to advance to the next stage, the seed formation stage.

Having witnessed the capabilities of those elemental beasts, Ezra concluded that he needed to be stronger, even if only a bit, to avoid being swept towards death’s door so easily a second time.

Advancing by a stage was the easiest way.

But to do this, he would have to create a seed gathered from the absorbed essence.

But first, Ezra had to wait for his body to fully settle, particularly the brain portion.

To avoid any repercussions, the manual advised its practitioners to take a nap after using the technique.

So Ezra lays down and sleeps.
