Chapter 42 - Third talent replicated.(Bonus Chapter)

Azvoid stood within a tranquil glade, the forest around him bathed in the early morning glow. Golden light filtered through the branches, speckling the ground with warmth. His chest rose and fell with measured breaths, his gaze sharp, eyes distant as if lost in some abyss of thought.

He clenched his fists, the frustration gnawing at his core. Just having power wasn't enough—he needed more. The type of power that would be on the scale of someone like Zephiron . Having made his decision he was about to warp space for another bout of hellish training.

But his dark musings were interrupted by a sudden chill.

It was faint at first, like a cool breeze brushing against his skin. But then it grew, the air thickening with a frost-laced aura that felt entirely out of place in the lush forest.

Azvoid's lips twitched into a smirk. He didn't bother turning around. "I know you're there. So why not come out before I turn you into a footstool?"

A low chuckle answered him, smooth and almost melodic. "Now that's quite the greeting. I didn't realize you were the type to welcome guests so warmly."

From the thick undergrowth, a figure emerged with an elegance that defied the rugged terrain. He looked no older than Azvoid, yet his presence carried a weight far beyond his years. His hair was silver, cascading down his back in icy strands that shimmered like moonlight, and his eyes were a glacial blue that bore into Azvoid with unnerving clarity.

The stranger's clothing was regal yet functional, dark attire woven with silver patterns that shimmered like frost under the sun.

"Quite the hideout you've got here," the young man said with a casual wave of his hand. "A little rustic for my taste, but hey, to each their own."

Azvoid glanced at him, unimpressed. "I'm guessing you're not here for a sightseeing tour. State your business before I decide to practice my fistwork on your face."

"Oh, I like that. Straight to the point." The silver-haired youth grinned, his aura leaking slightly, causing the air around him to drop several degrees. "Caelum Nightshade. And before you ask, no, I'm not some random lost wanderer. I came looking for you."

Azvoid raised an eyebrow. "That's an awfully roundabout way of saying you're a stalker."

"I prefer to call it... active observation. You've been making a lot of noise lately, Azvoid Larkson. And noise like that tends to attract attention—sometimes good, sometimes bad."

Azvoid snorted. "And which one are you? Good or bad?"

Caelum's gaze turned thoughtful. "Depends on your definition. I'm not here to fight you, if that's what you're worried about. Just wanted to see for myself if the rumors were true."

"And?"

"And..." Caelum's smirk widened. "I'm not disappointed."

Azvoid rolled his eyes. "You sound like some overdramatic protagonist who just stepped out of a cheap novel."

"Ouch. Straight for the heart, huh? You've got the charm of a cactus." Caelum crossed his arms, his gaze never leaving Azvoid. "But I've seen a lot of so-called talents. You're... different."

"Different how?"

Caelum's eyes narrowed, the air growing even colder. "You reek of hunger. Not the kind that drives most people to seek power. Yours is... raw. Like you're searching for something beyond mere strength."

Azvoid's lips curled. "And what would you know about it?"

"More than you'd think." Caelum's expression grew distant, shadows of his own struggles lingering behind his eyes. "I left my clan. Too much control, too many rules. Strength like mine wasn't meant to be caged and played with by bureaucrats pretending to be wise."

"So, you ran away?" Azvoid scoffed. "I expected something cooler from a guy who makes the air feel like death's refrigerator."

"Ran away? Not exactly." Caelum shrugged. "More like... I broke my chains. Decided to wander the world and forge my own path. And along the way, I found you."

"Well, congratulations. You found me. Now what?"

"Now..." Caelum's gaze gleamed with interest. "Now I just want to see what you're truly capable of. The rumors are one thing, but reality is another. And I suspect you're more than what they say."

Before Azvoid could respond, the familiar chime of his system echoed in his mind.

[Talent Replication available. Suitable target detected.]

[Talent: Frost Tyrant's Dominion (SS-Rank)]

[Description: Grants supreme control over all forms of ice and frost. Enhances combat ability by generating ice constructs, manipulating temperature, and inducing glacial storms at will.]

[Would you like to replicate this talent?]

Azvoid's heartbeat quickened, but his expression remained indifferent.

"Yes."

[Replication Successful. Talent: Frost Tyrant's Dominion (SS-Rank) has been added to your arsenal.]

[Would you like to absorb this talent into your bloodline for maximum compatibility and potential enhancement? Warning: This process is irreversible.]

Azvoid's fingers twitched. His eyes glinted with the temptation to accept. But no. Not yet. He wanted to make this acquisition special.

"No. Store it for now."

[Talent Stored Successfully.]

"Something wrong?" Caelum asked, his gaze suspicious as if sensing something had just happened.

"Nothing. Just bored of your incessant babbling." Azvoid shrugged. "You done stroking your own ego yet?"

Caelum chuckled. "You're a riot. I'm sure we'll meet again, Azvoid Larkson. This world's not big enough for someone like you to stay hidden."

As Caelum turned to leave, the temperature dropped to a bone-chilling frost. Icy winds spiraled around him, forming glacial wings that glittered under the sunlight. With a single step, he launched himself into the sky, the icy wings carrying him away with graceful power.

Azvoid watched, his gaze following Caelum until he disappeared into the distance. His lips curled into a predatory grin. "Another step closer..."
