Rise of The Strongest Monarch-Chapter 52: The Half Breed [1]
Amelia stands up after taking my words into consideration.
"If I really am half light bearer, maybe I just need to focus on it more. The light that dwells within me," Amelia speaks with some confidence in her voice.
Her eye begins to glow a bit as she stands before me. Amelia is definitely taking what I said quite seriously.
The light itself starts to go down her arm as a bow forms within her hand. It is made from pure white light with a bit of a lightning effect trickling down the sides.
I didn’t know if she really was a half breed or not if I’m being honest. It could’ve just been a coincidence that she happened to have the eye of a light bearer.
Obviously that isn’t the case here since she is now holding a bow within her left hand.
I’m sure that means she can even enhance certain things like Airi; speed, strength, and probably even that light that destroyed the hybrid.
At least that’s just a possibility if she really is able to use more power than this.
"This is definitely quite a strange feeling to have coursing throughout my whole body," Amelia says as she looks down at the bow.
I quickly got up and ran over to setup a target for her to shoot at. Within a few seconds I got one of the makeshift training dummies up for her.
"Give that bow or yours a try," I speak with a bit of excitement.
I move out of the way so I can watch what she does.
"I’ll try my best," Amelia responds as she lifts her other hand to pull back an arrow.
An arrow made of pure white light forms within her hand as she pulls the string back.
Swoosh!!!
It flies past me almost instantly and pierces through the makeshift dummy, leaving burn marks all around where it came out from.
I give her the go ahead to fire off another arrow since this is the first time she is using the power. Without any hesitation she shoots another arrow at the dummy.
Pierce!!!
This time it goes right through the head and takes it clean off, leaving no trace of where it once was.
"Those arrows are definitely quite powerful... Wow," I say with an impressed tone.
"Yeah... I think that’s all I can do for right now," Amelia replies with a bit of weakness in her voice.
I shift my gaze back towards her to see the bow disappear instantly as the light begins to fade away.
It doesn’t take me long to notice that she is staring to fall forward, so without thinking I rush over and catch her before she can hit the floor.
I think it is going to take her some time to get used to the power. Personally I don’t have any experience with the light bearers power so I don’t know how taxing it is.
Then again, how have I been able to move so fast if I am not relying on the power from my awakening or the infection?
That is something I didn’t really consider the thought of.
"Thank... You for encouraging me..," Amelia says before passing out.
"You’re welcome," I reply, even though she passed out.
I lift her up with ease and bring her back to the other bedroom. After sitting her down I leave the room to let her rest for awhile.
Wriggle. Wriggle.
The feeling returns in my arm again as I get back to my own room again. 𝚏𝕣𝕖𝚎𝚠𝚎𝚋𝚗𝐨𝐯𝕖𝕝.𝕔𝐨𝕞
I ignore it for a little while as I write some stuff down in my notes for later on since it is better to be prepared.
"Go ahead, speak up already," I say while sitting down the notebook.
"Amelia is definitely strong. You are a lucky guy with the people you meet so far," The woman responds with some excitement.
"I don’t really think I’m lucky in the slightest," I say quietly.
I stand up from my chair and walk back over to my bed. I unwrap my arm again so I can look at the black veins within it.
It doesn’t take me long to do it, but it is never going to be normal for me to look at it.
Human veins are definitely not black... It makes me feel like I’m dying each time I look at it.
"I know what you need! You need to kill more zierel or maybe another human," She shouts, the same excitement still in her voice.
"I’m not really surprised that you would say that," I respond quietly.
It actually has been quite some time since you have been encouraging me to kill with that bloodthirsty mind of yours. I was starting to think something might be wrong with you.
I also didn’t mean to start speaking to you like this but it is best not to speak out loud much with Amelia around.
It is easier when Airi is the only other person here.
"I always want you to kill more but I have calmed down quite a bit since meeting you ripped your own heart out," She responds.
If anything I would expect you to take advantage of the fact that I did listen to you after all.
"You also made a promise with the light bearer so I can’t really expect much from you until you decide to break it," She says with a laid back tone.
The woman disappears like usual after saying that to me.
With that I decide to lay down on my bed for a little while until Amelia wakes up or until Airi returns.
I close my eyes and begin to doze off.
A few hours go by...
I jolt up in my bed as I quickly look around, it felt like someone could be in the room with me. But after a few glances I realize that no one else is in here.
Why did I think anyone else would be in here? I don’t even know how long I fell asleep for.
"You killed her."
"He did!"
"How could you do that to that poor woman?!?!"
Voices haunting me like usual, but no clear indication of where they are coming from.
I still don’t understand why I hear voices like theirs from time to time...
