Rogue Villain-Chapter 335: Dead?
Ackster and the others could only look on in awe and horror as they saw the ramifications of Makkel’s fire. Makkel had burned away all of Mbelg’s luck. So, when he was surrounded by people, each with their own fair share of fortune, he experienced what would happen if everyone around him was lucky. He had no defense against their luck and what it was trying to accomplish.
Whenever Mbelg moved with the intent to cause harm to Makkel and the others, their luck would roll to try and make that not happen. Each time their luck tried something, it succeeded. Mbelg was caught in a web of the fortune of his soon-to-be killers.
With such a disastrous fate looming against him, it didn’t take long before Mbelg lost the last of his energy and turned into a tiny, glossy black marble. Mara and the others helped him along. But when he finally lost the ability to take shape and regressed into the very core of his existence, Ackster stepped forward.
"I guess that explains why he didn’t have any vital weak points."
No matter whether it was his head or heart, Mbelg didn’t show any signs of taking extra damage when either of those was injured. It was the same as when he lost a foot.
"Is he dead?"
Ackster looked at the black marble that rolled to a stop on the floor. The others also gathered around and formed a circle around it. Ackster turned to Wilma.
"As good as."
"So, he’s not dead?"
Wilma slowly shook her head.
"Not quite. After enough time and under the right circumstances, Mbelg can come back sooner or later. But...."
Given what they had all seen and the fact that Mbelg had lost all his luck, it was very unlikely that would ever happen. If Mbelg didn’t get crushed in his current state and turned into shards of whatever the black marble was made of, he would stay as the marble without resurrecting for at least an eternity. 𝒻𝘳ℯℯ𝑤ℯ𝒷𝘯ℴ𝓋ℯ𝘭.𝑐ℴ𝑚
Ackster thought about crushing the marble. He also thought about what the marble might be, considering he had one of his own, even if it was different. But all he knew was that the core was Mbelg’s center of existence. It was the same as his mixed-color core filled with Ichor.
Nothing happened even when Ackster thought of crushing Mbelg’s core, so he knelt and pinched the core with his fingers. Still, the world didn’t tell him to stop.
"I guess that confirms it. Mbelg’s dead."
If Mbelg were alive, Ackster wouldn’t be able to express his wish to kill the demon without the world telling him to stop. He was in a state similar to what Ackster had been in after Trana killed him. It was just that he didn’t have to form his core before resurrecting.
Mbelg was dead, but the nature of his existence as a demon let him revive.
’Is it something similar to Conditional Immortality?’
Ackster was happy with the unexpected discovery. He had learned more about himself through the death of a demon.
"Have you guys already gotten the existential power?"
Ackster increased the pressure between his fingers as he looked at the others. Since Mbelg was dead, his existential power should have been divided between them all. Ackster was pretty sure he was too strong to sense anything if it were split among his entire party.
But the others, especially Makkel, who was still weak, even with his newly improved ability, should have sensed the existential power of a demon.
However, they slowly shook their heads one at a time.
"Huh."
Ackster looked at the marble.
"I guess that’s because he still exists."
Ackster popped the marble in his mouth before any of the others could react, not that they would have been able to stop him, even if they had wanted to.
The marble entered the fierce battlefield between the blue sun, the Sun God Token, and the Smelting Furnace’s flames against the dark cloud of miasma. It instantly caused a stir as the miasma tried to enter it like ants returning to the nest.
The different fires also rushed to the marble, instantly trying to burn, melt, and refine it. The Sun God Token and Smelting Furnace were especially keen on refining it. They could tell that the marble was a ball of pure energy beyond anything they had encountered.
The blue sun was still trying to burn everything with reckless abandon, especially now that it had been awoken from the slumber the Sun God Token had forced it into so it could siphon its flames in peace.
Ackster smiled. It seemed like it was time to put things in order inside Smelting Furnace.
*This might take a while. Secure the perimeter and scout a little if you dare.*
After communicating his intentions to his party, Ackster sat down and concentrated on his Smelting Furnace. Although the Smelting Furnace could handle most on his own, if Ackster wanted to speed up the process and make sure everything went as he wished, he would have to interfere.
Ackster was also curious about the demon core since it would give him more clues about his own core and what he could do to improve it. If Ackster was lucky, it might even improve his Ichor.
He couldn’t wait to see what would happen when the three sources of fire inside his Smelting Furnace became one and refined the demon core into his own body.
Ackster focused his mind on the Smelting Furnace and sunk into it. The broken trident still hid in a corner. But Ackster wasn’t here for that.
He looked at the blue sun.
’Time to become mine.’
Ackster didn’t hold back. He activated Limit Breaker to the max. The temperature inside Smelting Furnace instantly skyrocketed. The smelting Furnace’s dark orange flames with tinges of blue and purple also rose like they were doused in oil as they enveloped the blue sun.
Ackster didn’t stop there. The blue sun had seemed endless with its ability to continuously produce more fire. It was like its own source of blue fire. Naturally, Ackster had to try and add it to his Ichor.
