Rogue Villain-Chapter 339: First
Ackster’s experience with goading others into attacking him seemed to possess universal influence, and it didn’t take long before his shout reached the far corners of the jungle, inviting all the beasts who dared to look at him like prey. It also didn’t take long before his first opponent made himself known.
The beast flared its presence as it approached Ackster with thunderous steps.
’One by one, is it?’
Only one beast made any signs of approaching. The others seemingly let the closest one have a go before they got involved.
It didn’t matter to Ackster if that was the reality of the situation. It also didn’t matter to him what else it might be. The only thing that mattered was that he finally had a chance to duke it out with a proper opponent that could get his blood roaring.
So, Ackster met the beast’s charge with a sprint of his own as he rushed through the forest, slightly impressed by the sturdiness of the vegetation around him. It was also bigger than it had appeared from up on the ledge.
Ackster didn’t recognize any of the flora around him. Granted, he hadn’t visited every forest on Millmeria. But they seemed strictly different than what he was used to.
Ackster observed his surroundings, but he also focused on his opponent. Its heavy footsteps shook the ground, and Ackster felt the tremors up to his hips. His opponent was a heavyweight.
The plants rustled, and branches cracked as the beast forced its way through the forest.
Ackster grinned and leaped into the air as he raised a fist.
Ackster flew in a gentle arc before eventually crashing fist-first on the beast’s forehead.
’That is it’s forehead, right?’
The beast was so unlike anything Ackster had seen before that he wasn’t sure what it was. It was like an armored, headless gorilla. Its proportions were also different from ordinary gorillas since its hind legs were almost as long as its arms. It was more balanced between the front and back halves.
Ackster’s fist landed at the base of where it looked like its neck would have been. He had used part of his martial arts. He hadn’t gone all out, but he wasn’t far from it. Still, the distant gorilla relative seemed unbothered, aside from the fact that Ackster had punched it with enough force to halt its advance.
Or maybe it had just planned to stop.
Ackster dropped to the ground like a feather and instantly shifted to the side to avoid a vertical slam from one of the beast’s arms. He punched the beast’s side with full force. It was like hitting a brick wall.
’Oh, this is good stuff.’
Ackster wasn’t bothered by the beast’s sturdiness. All he could think of was killing the beast and devouring it to strengthen himself.
Before the beast could react, Ackster punched out several times in a row, creating a sequence of ripples as he tried to push the force of his strikes into the enemy.
However, it seemed like the gorilla-like beast’s insides were as tough as its armor, and it didn’t take any noticeable damage.
The beast swept its arm out. Instead of dodging again, Ackster aimed for the spot that opened up below its armpit. It looked like it would be softer.
Ackster grinned as his fist landed. It was. It only made sense. Even a beast as tough as the armored, headless gorilla would have to sacrifice some defense to maintain its speed and flexibility. Otherwise, regardless of how much of a beating it could take, it would only be a sitting duck, unable to get any food for itself.
Ackster didn’t stop grinning even as the gorilla’s log-like arm slammed into him like a battering ram and, surprisingly enough, cracked the arm he used to defend. It was the first time since his rebirth that an opponent had done that on the first attack.
Even Mbelg had needed to drown Ackster’s body in corrosive poison and weakening curses before his skeleton got brittle. And even then, Mbelg didn’t have enough power to break Ackster’s bones.
"Haha!"
Ackster couldn’t help but let out a laugh.
A broken arm was nothing to him. But it also seemed that what he had done to the gorilla was nothing to it. The gorilla didn’t seem to have any visible breathing organs, but it also didn’t have any signs of exertion in its body language. Breaking Ackster’s arm didn’t take any effort.
Ackster charged forward.
He met the gorilla’s punch with one of his own. The grey fist was twice as large as Ackster’s, and it was at least twice as hard. Ackster didn’t lack much in strength or speed compared to the gorilla. But he didn’t have as great a defense, even with Diamond Body.
Ackster’s wrist snapped a moment after their fists clashed. But Ackster still pushed his fist forward in a head-on competition of strength against the gorilla.
Ackster’s body fought to heal it, while his competition only pushed the broken bones further away from their rightful place.
Ackster’s feet strained against the hard ground.
The fingers on the gorilla’s other hand dug into the soil, and it dragged and pushed itself forward while pushing down using its height advantage. It happily welcomed Ackster’s competition, and the gorilla was planning on winning it with an absolute show of dominance that would end with Ackster squashed flat as a pancake. 𝕗𝗿𝕖𝐞𝐰𝗲𝕓𝐧𝕠𝕧𝗲𝐥.𝚌𝐨𝚖
’For real?’
Akcster hadn’t expected the gorilla to be so strong. It made sense, considering its bulging muscles and their density. But he hadn’t thought he would have to tap into Limit Breaker so soon.
He felt like he could squeeze out a little more of his raw physical body. But it wouldn’t be enough to compete with the gorilla. So, instead of letting the gorilla gain more of an advantage, Ackster gritted his teeth and pushed harder before letting the power of Limit Breaker seep into his body and reinvigorating it with strength that transcended his limits.
