Rogue Villain-Chapter 421: The Beginning Of A Story
The revelation that all of Ackster’s hard work, worries, fears, paranoia, and anxiety had been for nothing hit him like a truck. His hard work hadn’t been for nothing, and neither had his fears since they had spurred him to go to the lengths he needed. And, in the end, he saved the world.
It hadn’t been for nothing. It hadn’t!
But it felt like it had.
Ackster felt horrible. He couldn’t describe how he felt. He could barely even feel how he felt.
But the revelation of all those years being a fake and that he merely stayed alive at the whim of The Hero felt worse than even the pain of his soul tearing and fragmenting. Ackster wanted to tear his jaw off in frustration and to feel something else.
Storm clouds obscured the lingering rays of the setting sun and the stars creeping into the sky under the dusk’s cover. The air itself grew dark as thunder rumbled in the sky.
The light and hope that had filled the world to the brim just moments ago vanished like they never existed in the first place.
In the recess of his mind, Ackster was aware of the weather all over the world changing due to his mood. But he couldn’t care less. He didn’t even know why he was so upset. He just was since his emotions overwhelmed him.
Ackster could control the weather. He could teleport himself and anyone else all over the world. He was strong enough to singlehandedly defeat three cosmic gods.
But it was the first time he had felt emotions like a storm at sea that he couldn’t control.
No, he just wasn’t facing the threat of death if he didn’t control them anymore. Without the grim reaper’s scythe hanging over his neck and trimming away any excess emotion, Ackster didn’t know what to do. It didn’t help that the emotions he had done his best to suppress during his journey took this opportunity to spring back.
"There, there...."
Before Ackster could find an outlet for his emotions, Mio hugged him from behind. She wrapped her arms around his neck and whispered soothing words in his ears.
It had nothing to do with what she said or did. Her presence alone calmed Ackster. It wasn’t necessarily because of Mio herself.
But Mio and everyone else was the proof Ackster needed. They were living evidence that all his fears weren’t for nothing.
If Ackster hadn’t been scared or worried for his life, he would have never met them all. Even if he had, he wouldn’t have formed the same bonds with them.
Ackster took a deep breath, inhaling Mio’s scent as he calmed down.
"Hoo~ Okay. I’m good now. I don’t know what came over me, but that was a little embarrassing."
As Ackster calmed down, the mood also returned to its original clear skies, whether it be starry or blue ones.
However, the party was still awkward.
"Don’t worry. It’s only embarrassing if one doesn’t know how much you’ve been through."
Mio comforted Ackster as she patted his head, ignoring the others completely. It was like they were the only ones in the world.
Ackster met Mio’s eyes. He blinked.
Mio smiled.
"Looks like you’ll have to keep me entertained and happy for the rest of time."
"I can do that—We can do that."
Ackster smiled.
"There’s no end to the drinks in the bar, so keep the party going."
Ackster didn’t take his eyes off Mio for a second while he spoke and when he teleported them away.
With Ackster’s current capabilities, it was no trouble constructing a simple log cabin in the middle of the forest, close to where he and Mio first met. The place was symbolic. But it was also cozy and the perfect spot for a nest.
At the beach, the party continued. Returning to a festive atmosphere after Ackster’s sudden outburst was rough. But there was nothing like good alcohol and better friends in situations like those. The Hero also briefly explained that it was his fault, which opened up for Dala to joke that he should be the one to leave the party instead of Ackster.
But since they couldn’t have The Hero leave just like that, they poured alcohol down his throat like water. The Hero playfully objected but let himself get drunk. He needed it just as much as anyone. And if he could take the fall to get the party back in full swing, he would do it.
Thanks to The Hero’s sacrifice, the party lit up again, and Ackster’s paradise was full of life and loved ones.
However, there were a few who didn’t quite partake in the festivities.
"Do either of you know where they went?"
Karandiel looked at Anatol and Wilma, who had the best relationships with Mio. They weren’t as close to Ackster as her or Mara. But maybe Mio told them something.
However, Anatol and Wilma both shook their heads.
"No clue. Besides, didn’t we agree to let Mio have him first?"
"Have him first?"
Wilma looked confused at Anatol’s words.
"We did. But that doesn’t mean we can’t be there and watch while waiting."
"Would you want all of us to watch while you have your first time with him?"
Karandiel looked at Mara with a raised eyebrow.
"...Hmm."
Mara hesitated and tilted her head to the side.
"It sounds exciting, actually."
That wasn’t the answer Karandiel had expected.
"Well, I want privacy."
"So we don’t know how much you do? Forget it, birdie. After Mio’s done, we’re all doing it. Otherwise, we’ll never stop fighting about it."
"I don’t think so, goat-face. We’re all aware that you aren’t that close to Brian. You’re worried everyone will have a go only for him to reject you. That’s why I say we chronologically. That would put Wilma next, but I don’t mind waiting one turn."
"Me next?"
"I say we wait for him to decide to order. That seems the most fair."
"Order? Guys, I’m not keeping up."
"Fair? You’re that confident he’ll pick you before me?"
Mara crossed her arms and met Karandiel’s gaze without backing down.
"Oi! What are you talking about?!"
Finally, Wilma couldn’t take it anymore. She shouted and snapped her fingers to grab the other three’s attention.
"Sex...—!"
"Mating...—!"
"Love-making...—!"
"’...Of course!"’
They used different words, but it was obvious what was going on in Karandiel’s, Mara’s, and Anatol’s minds.
Wilma turned beet red.
Meanwhile, in the cabin....
Mio sat snuggled up in Ackster’s arms in front of an open fire.
"Where was I?"
"The beginning."
"Right. The beginning of my story. Let’s see..."
