Chapter 167: Su Yijia Was Like a Mad Dog

Qin’s father and Qin Mingcheng were infuriated to the point of grinding their teeth, yet they had no way to deal with Su Yijia. If he could, Qin’s father would have preferred to leave, but departing would not have his money back, and Xia Weiguo would the only one sitting in the main seat. Furthermore, this madwoman was determined to make his son acknowledge Xia Weiguo as a godfather. If that were to happen, it would be more unbearable than if he were killed.

Qin’s father had long realized he absolutely couldn’t leave; he was merely attempting to pressure Su Yijia with his status. Little did he know, in front of so many people, this madwoman wasn’t fazed at all. It was one thing that she was shameless, but didn’t she fear completely embarrassing Kaize and Xia Weiguo?

"Hmph, I’m Kaize’s father! Why should I leave?" Qin’s father restrained his anger. His rear end hadn’t left the chair throughout.

Su Yijia sneered in disgust.

She then pulled Kaize’s attention toward Xia Weiguo.

"Uncle Xia!"

"Uncle Xia!"

One of the them blinked, and the other greeted.

Although there was a tinge of disappointment, being able to sit in the primary position at Kaize’s wedding was something Xia Weiguo hadn’t dared to imagine. Xia Weiguo took out a thick red envelope from his pocket and handed it to Su Yijia.

"Yijia, from now on, you might have to take care of Kaize; make sure both of you get along well. If there’s anything that upsets you, you tell me, and I’ll support you," Xia Weiguo earnestly advised.

"Uncle Xia, don’t worry. I will surely treat Kaize well," Su Yijia’s smile faded, replaced by a serious and sincere promise.

"Alright, alright!" Xia Weiguo nodded happily several times.

Then, he turned to Kaize with a more serious tone, "Kaize, you’re stubborn and not good at communicating. But your wife isn’t someone from your previous workplace. You have to cherish and care for her. Whatever decisions or actions you take, discuss with her, understand?"

"I will," Kaize blinked.

Qin’s father observed Xia Weiguo’s words and felt it was quite hypocritical. His son was now crippled, what was the point of such advice? He was nothing more than a quilt lying in bed all day long. Currently, he couldn’t be considered human; at best, he was just an object that needed fixing everything or otherwise would leak or get dirty, causing a lot of trouble.

Su Yijia and Kaize looked towards Qin’s father.

"Father," Su Yijia’s tone was indifferent.

Kaize casually blinked as well.

With reluctance, Qin’s father handed the money, wrapped in red paper, to Su Yijia.

"Now that you’ve married into the Qin family, you’re our daughter-in-law. You not only have to treat your husband well but also understand etiquette, have a sense of shame, be filial to the elders, and love the younger ones at home. Don’t just think of yourself every day and disgrace our family," Qin’s father said impassively.

His words startled both Xia Weiguo and Qin Kaize, whose expressions changed abruptly. Such remarks were not uncommon even decades later. In some places, it was customary to give new daughters-in-law a hard time. Many people would overlook or endure it.

However, Su Yijia was not someone who would let such remarks slide. Qin’s father was so incensed that he lost his sanity and repeatedly instigated her in front of everyone.

"It doesn’t matter. Even if I lose face, it’s not as much as you’ve lost. After all, if I hadn’t saved face for you, you’d be languishing in prison, wouldn’t you?" Su Yijia grinned widely, appearing utterly delighted.

Everyone present was taken aback by her words, especially the officials. These were walking convicts before them! Their faces turned serious instantly.

Not just Qin’s father, even Qin Mingcheng and Su Xinyue standing nearby were petrified. Crazy!

No!

This was a mad dog!

Just a glance and she’d go for the jugular!!!

Qin’s father hadn’t anticipated that she would bring up that matter as a threat.

"It was my fault! I was too harsh in speaking. I was inconsiderate. Just consider what I said earlier as nonsense," Qin’s father hastily apologized. He couldn’t control how others perceived the situation now. He just wanted to shut Su Yijia up as quickly as possible.

"Right, I knew I’m such a good person. Why would I need your guidance, father?" Su Yijia’s smile became even brighter.

"Serve the dishes! Chef, please bring out the remaining dishes," Qin’s father looked around but didn’t find Qin’s mother. He remembered her saying she’d watch the spiked drinks, so he called out himself.

The two men who had just left glanced at each other. They didn’t find Qin’s mother in the kitchen, but time was running short. They hurriedly grabbed the glasses with the spiked drinks and rushed back to the living room.

During the toasting ceremony for the newlyweds, Qin Kaize simply needed to be present. Su Yijia wasn’t good with alcohol, so she opted for tea instead.

By tradition, they should have introduced Qin’s relatives first. However, Su Yijia feared if she introduced them first, things might get out of hand once the drinks were consumed. Therefore, disregarding Qin’s father’s cues, she had the leaders and their comrades toasted as directed by Xia Weiguo. Then she toasted the elderly neighbors around before finally coming to Qin’s family.

Qin’s relatives wanted to be angry, but they didn’t dare. They simply allowed Su Yijia to mercilessly rub their faces into the ground.

Eventually, they came to the two men who had just left.

"These are your second uncle’s sons, Kaize’s cousins, and your future cousins," Qin’s father introduced.

"Hello, sister-in-law," the two men greeted warmly.

Looking at the group of people, it was impossible to tell that each of them was contemplating devious intentions.

Su Yijia chuckled as she drank from the glass in her hand and then raised it in a toast to the others.

Rather than leaving, she guided Qin Kaize to the head table.

Despite his inconvenience to speak and inability to eat, he had to be there to accompany the meal.

As Su Yijia ate, she discreetly observed the other two from the corner of her eye.

It wasn’t until they became visibly uncomfortable, frequently glancing in her direction, their faces slightly reddened, that she got up and headed outside.

She deliberately made a trip to the restroom, denying those two any chance to make a move, promptly shutting the door behind her.

They were left waiting on the sidelines.

Just as they were getting increasingly anxious, Su Yijia emerged from the restroom.

Before they could act, she promptly veered into Qin Kaize’s room.

The two immediately followed and swiftly locked the door behind them.

Their eyes were bloodshot, evidently having lost much of their rationality.

Without a second thought, they lunged towards Su Yijia.

Swiftly sidestepping, Su Yijia kicked each of them.

As the two men crashed heavily to the ground, she swiftly opened the window, propped on the frame, and leaped out.

Furthermore, for the convenience of everyone to enjoy the spectacle that would follow later, she even purposely left the window wide open.

Back in the living room, Su Yijia resumed her meal.

She didn’t have a worry in the world that the show would end too soon.

Subsequently, people went out intermittently to the restroom. When they returned, their expressions had become quite grim.

They glanced at the head table, wanting to say something, yet unsure of how to articulate it.
