S.P.E.C.T.O.R-Chapter 533: Under the sea
“Ok, let's talk weapons,” Adam said.
“I would like a forcestaff,” Rowena requested with a beautiful smile.
“Oh, me too, me too,” Tephe said excitedly.
“I know you're competent in using it,” Adam said to Rowena before turning to Tephe and asking, “But what about you? Do you know how to use one?”
“Nope, no idea, but they're cool,” Tephe replied happily.
[Noobkiller9000 (Earth): Hahaha, well shes not wrong. Those force staff are cool.]
[SciFifanboy (Earth): They are totally SciFi]
“What do you even need one for?” Aphrodite asked before adding, “I don’t think I have ever heard of a dragon using a weapon.”
“Well, that's because dragons are basically a weapon themselves,” Stacey added.
“So,” Tephe replied stubbornly before adding, “That doesn’t mean I can’t learn. Adam and Rowena just have to teach me.”
Adam looked at Rowena, who shrugged in reply while wearing her signature grin.
[LadyErkath (Alastor): That woman. 🤦She’s just trying to create more chaos. She already knows it’s crazy for Adam to be using a Universal Frocestaff and now she wants one for herself and Tephe.]
[DeverinianLordMalacoss (Deverinian 9): I don’t know how the Universal Senate Security HQ is going to take this.]
[LadyErkath (Alastor): Honestly, neither do I.]
“Fine,” Adam said with a sigh.
“Yay, thanks, Adam, you're the best,” Tephe cheered happily.
“But I’m not giving it to you without you at least understanding how it works,” Adam stated before looking at Rowena again and asking, “Can you show her the basics while I sort the others out?”
“Sure,” Rowena replied.
“Thanks,” Adam said before walking over to another section of the wall and opening a compartment, after which he retrieved two universal forcestaffs and handed them to Rowena.
[NonpareilRaphilia (Aaru): Wait, how many of those things does he have?]
[OracleRomy (Elysium): Looks like a whole compartment full.]
[NonpareilRaphilia (Aaru): I can see that. I’m asking why he has so many. One was already shocking enough.]
[Phoenixempress (Fenix Nest): Now he’s just handing them out like party favours. Maybe I should ask for one.]
“I tried training with a staff when I was young, but couldn’t get the hang of it,” Stacey said as she saw Adam turn towards her before she continued, “I also don’t think taking my toy missile launcher down to the planet is a good idea.”
[HackerSu (Trillion): Girl. Only you think a missile launcher is a toy.]
“No, I don’t think it is either,” Adam agreed.
“I still have the blaster you gave me before, but I would like an upgrade if possible. Can I get the same blaster you use?” Stacey asked.
“Sure,” Adam nodded before walking over to another compartment, which he opened before handing Stacey a Phalanx MK7 and holster.
“So what about you three?” Adam asked as he turned to Lorelie, Aphrodite and Eri.”
While Adam and the girls were busy sorting out the equipment that they planned to take with them, somewhere on Earth, an encrypted call was taking place between two individuals.
“Are you ready?”
“Yes, sir. We plan to move tonight after she returns home. We will then have her transported to the location you specified.”
“Good. Remember to make sure no harm comes to her.”
“Understood, sir. But just for clarification, we are fine to drug her for easier transport?”
“As long as the drug has no lasting side-effects.”
“Do not worry, sir. It will simply knock her out for twelve to sixteen hours.”
“Fine. Also, remember to make it look like she’s taken an impromptu vacation somewhere local.”
“Of course not, sir.”
“Then get to work and notify me when she’s in transit.”
“Understood, sir.”
“It’s a shame Maiya couldn’t come,” Tephe said in disappointment.
“I’m afraid the sight of a small floating whale is a bit too conspicuous for Earth,” Adam replied.
“So why did you decide to bring us back to five hours before we returned from Solarian Prime?” Rowena asked as the group all boarded the shuttle and took their seats.
“We know that Miss Hopkins' disappearance happens sometime after she leaves her office tonight, so I figured we should go meet her first and decide on a course of action before the main suspect turns up in a few hours,” Adam explained.
“You mean this Antony Morose character, he’s supposed to arrive at her office after the stream ends, right?” Lorelie asked.
“That’s right,” Adam replied before saying, “Activating cloak.”
The stream briefly switched to an external shot of the shuttle in the docking bar, allowing chat to watch it vanish before switching back inside the shuttle.
[Beinglittleisnotadisadvantage (Strathorp 7): The fact that his shuttle can cloak, let alone his ship, is so broken.]
Adam piloted the shuttle out of the docking bay before saying, “Proceed with deployment of the subspace relay.
“Affirmative,” Spector replied through the shuttle's comm and as he turned the shuttle, the group and chat were able to watch Spector as it began to fly away from Earth.
“It really is one attractive and impressive-looking ship,” Aphrodite remarked.
“Thank you,” Spector replied.
“So where do you plan to land the shuttle?” Stacey asked as Adam turned the shuttle back towards Earth and began its descent towards the planet.
“The Blue Lagoon Club has a helipad on the roof, I guess it’s for the exclusive use of VIP’s,” Adam replied.
“Helipad?” Tephe asked curiously as she began to play with her new ring that hung around her neck on a chain.
The ring was black like all the others; however, Tephe’s had white gems that matched the colour of her hair and scales.
“It’s where helicopters land,” Adam replied before adding, “They are a type of flying vehicle here on Earth. I will point one out if we see one.”
“Are they fun?” Tephe asked eagerly.
“No idea since I’ve never been in one. But compared to a shuttle there very noisy and nowhere near as comfortable looking,” Adam answered.
The shuttle entered the atmosphere and headed in the direction of Metro City in the Western Continent.
After passing through the atmosphere, Tephe suddenly pointed to an object that was flying through some clouds in the distance and asked, “What’s that?”
“An aeroplane,” Adam replied as a section of the viewscreen zoomed in to show the large aeroplane.
“Judging by its size and shape, it must be a commercial one,” Adam stated as he glanced at it.
“Commercial? Is that the primary form of air transport on Earth?” Lorelie asked curiously.
“That’s correct,” Adam replied before explaining, “They come in various sizes, with larger ones like that being more for commercial use, though the leaders of countries also use them because of all the personnel that travel with them.
Smaller ones are commonly used by the rich who don’t want to travel with commoners and then there are military aircraft that are even larger than that one.”
The shuttle continued its descent until it passed through some clouds to reveal the sprawling blue of the Atlantic Ocean.
“It’s the ocean,” Lorelie said eagerly as she looked down at it before she turned to Adam and asked, “Can we go take a close look?”
“Sure, we might see something interesting,” Adam replied as he put the shuttle into a dive.
[Justiceistruth (Earth): Errr, is it just me, or is he going to hit the water?]
[AlamoMatador4thewin (Earth): It’s not just you.]
“As the shuttle approached the surface of the ocean, Adam slowed down slightly; however, he didn’t pull up and a moment later the shuttle broke through the surface and dived into the depths.
After diving under the surface, Adam levelled the shuttle out and had it continue flying in the direction of the western continent as they all looked around.
“Look at all the aquatic creatures,” Stacey marvelled.
They saw schools of many different types of fish, sharks, whales, dolphins, sea turtles, jellyfish and many other creatures.
Lorelie didn’t say anything but looked around in amazement with bright eyes as she took in the sight of all the creatures.
“Look, look,” Tephe said excitedly as she pointed towards the edge of the viewscreen where a pod of dolphins came into view and began to swim alongside the shuttle.
“What are they?” Lorelie asked in wonder.
“Dolphins, they're one of the smartest creatures on Earth and some scientists believe that they use a larger percentage of their brains than even humans use,” Adam replied.
“Wouldn’t that make them smarter than you?” Rowena teased.
“I suppose that would depend on how you determine which is smarter,” Adam replied.
[Whostolemyduck (Earth): Well, she’s technically not wrong.]
[Gunlovergirl (Earth): Especially when it comes to men.]
[All the Earth men in chat: …]
“Can you turn on the external comm?” Lorelie suddenly asked.
“Why?” Adam asked back curiously.
“I want to try something,” Lorelie replied with bright eyes.
Adam nodded before doing as she asked.
Lorelie smiled at him after seeing that he accepted her request before she closed her eyes for a moment. A few seconds later, she began to sing the same song that she had sung when she and Adam had gone to visit the royal palace on Oceana Seven.
As her voice spread out in the ocean, all the sea life in the vicinity stopped what they were doing and turned to look in the shuttle's direction before they started to move towards it.
As everyone on board the shuttle and in the chat watched, they saw tens of sea life heading towards the shuttle. This quickly became hundreds and then even thousands as the sea life that reached the shuttle began to swim alongside it and around it.
[Superhearofangirl (Earth): Holy cow. It’s like I’m watching The Tiny Seahorse.]
[Celebrityhunter69 (Earth): Honestly, right now, I think we are watching the genuine version of that.]
[Emojisonly (Earth): 😱]
What none of them knew was that Lorelie’s singing didn’t just fade away as it got further from the shuttle; it seemed to keep going and soon it reached all six oceans on Earth.
This day would go down in marine biology history as one of the greatest mysteries ever. For approximately three and a half minutes, all sea life, wherever they were on Earth, began to move towards the Atlantic Ocean.
