Saintess? Not Anymore! I'd Rather be a Destroyer-Chapter 327 - 264: Plot against Vatium
"So what do you say Aurianna?" Kairo looked at her intently. She stayed silent, glancing down at her desk with all the papers on it.
She released a sigh before looking back at him, "I don’t understand how my job seems fun to you, but if you insist I wouldn’t mind letting you take my place. Do remember this job is just at the same level as Dielle’s? But my subordinates Jade, Hadina, Jugi and Avriel will overlook everything."
"Thank you. I’m satisfied with that alone," Kairo gave a respectful nod.

In a room dressed in gold, sitting on a couch was Concubine Momo. She was wearing a worried expression as she listened attentively to the voice coming from a blue stone tablet.
"Vatium, are you sure about this?" She asked through the communication cube.
"Mother please trust me," Vatium responded. He sounded slightly frustrated at her persistence with the issue.
Momo sighed, "Hearing that Queen Amber would kill me is still hard to understand, but based on how things have been since you left it’d make sense. She didn’t want me to tell King Girsal about me leaving for diplomatic affairs with Marquis Hermiya Touche after all."
"So mother, things will proceed as planned. I just have one question, can you trust me?"
"I trust you, my son. You wouldn’t joke about something like this... I’m curious however. How’d you get this information?"
"Let’s say I got my own sources of information," Vatium responded curtly.
Momo clasped her hands together tightly, "Vatium, if Queen Amber is really aiming for both of us our lives...Do be safe. Come back alive."
"Don’t worry mother I surely will."
The sound of the communication stone disconnecting went off.
With their conversation over, Concubine Momo placed the communication tablet in her pocket before leaving the room. She walked outside, before entering a carriage that was surrounded by many cavaliers. The instant she entered they started escorting her away from the palace.
Momo clenched her fist, anger furrowing her brow, "Queen Amber... I have ignored your foolish antics for too long. Once this is over I’ll make sure your life is hell on earth for daring to mess with my son."
Walking through the forest the Calvary matched alongside the carriage keeping an eye on the surroundings, but all of a sudden the area around them seemed to freeze. A squirrel which had been scurrying in their path was stationary mid stride, a bird’s wings ceased to flap as it remained stagnant in the air.
"Good work Risa," complimented a man in all black clothing. None of his features could be seen as the outfit covered his face as well. He was gazing towards a lady beside him, who happened to be dressed the same way but like him, she had wings sprouting from her back. She also held a clock in her hand as she gazed at the carriage, an air of caution was surrounding her.
"Let’s do this quickly," she stated before entering the carriage. She exited with Concubine Momo strapped over her shoulder.
"Ostusi is the puppet ready?" Risa asked.
"Yes it is," a dull voice replied and before them was a muscular man clad in all black like them. Unlike them however he had more visible features, such as his eyes, which held blue in one and Orange in the other within his black sclera. Ostusi was holding a wooden doll. And he walked towards Momo who’s eyes were open, showing she was still under the effects of the time freeze.
Ostusi used a small needle that was in his other hand to prick Momo’s finger. Blood seeped from the small puncture wound, dripping onto the doll. In an instant the featureless doll shifted into a spitting image of Momo before smiling at Ostusi.
"Go to the carriage," he ordered and the doll jumped from their hiding spot, sitting inside the carriage like all was normal. Since their work was done, Risa, Ostusi, and the man they were with slipped into the shadows. The real Momo, still being over Risa’s shoulder.
Once they were far enough from the Carriage, placing Momo beside a nearby tree, the clock inscribed with magic circles around them disappeared. The Cavalry was moving once more, as if nothing happened.
"Are you the people Vatium sent?" Concubine Momo asked, slightly shaky. For her, these individuals had just suddenly appeared before her, as well as being in a new area. She tried her best to hold her composure despite the shock. She witnessed none of what occurred during the time freeze after all.
"Yes, we are. Don’t worry we’ll send you to a secure place," Risa responded assuringly.
"Will my son be fine?" Momo asked, concerned as she stared at them.
Risa nodded, "Yes ma’am he definitely will."
After a couple more minutes of riding through the forest, something strange happened. The scenery which had been passing by constantly slowed. Then it eventually became stationary.
"Why have we stopped?" The puppet that looked like Momo asked.
"Sorry concubine Momo but your journey ends here. Men take her out!" The coach ordered. A knight then pulled the carriage doors open aggressively before grabbing Momo, pulling her out forcefully. She huffed slightly once hitting the ground. Her face was showing a high amount of displeasure at the current situation.
"Queen Amber gave you to us to enjoy ourselves, paying us to do this in a huge amount of mana stones. There’s no way we could refuse such a generous offer! No hard feelings, once everyone is done having a turn with you we’ll make sure to end you quickly. They’ll never find your body." The coach had a perverted grin, along with the other knights. They were starting to surround her but Momo, or rather the puppet in place of her, looked unconcerned at their words.
"How repulsive and disgraceful," She said with disgust in her voice. Just then, her head turned 180 degrees before stabbing into the coach’s skull with her bare hands. Blood gushed out as he hit the ground, dead.
The men got alarmed as the woman who they believed to be Momo slowly morphed, revealing a wooden puppet. It had her face but the rest of the body was lacking an important human feature, skin. It dashed towards the rest of the men, raising its bloody hands in attack mode.
"That’s not concubine Momo, kill it and find her!" A knight ordered, panicked.
"It seems the master was right, Queen Amber sure is disgusting," Alexa shook her head in disapproval. She and her associates, as well as the real Concubine Momo were watching the scene from afar. In her hand was a communication stone.
"Master, should we leave them alive?" She asked.
"No kill them all and be prepared for the possibility of a more proper group of assassins to be nearby. I’d prefer it if you guys would handle the knights, I’ll handle the assassins," Vatium responded through the communication stone. He was currently walking towards a luxurious carriage, from a supposed mansion and some Sandeph knights being stationed around it this new carraige.
"Your Highness Ruther Vatium Vanluad. Queen Amber has sent me to pick you up," a butler bowed down courteously before looking up at Vatium with a smile.
"I was wondering why Queen Amber would send someone to pick me up. I do have my own personal coach to take me home," Vatium said, an undertone of suspicion in his voice.
The butler looked at Vatium with an unwavering smile and replied, "Your mother is going for a meeting with Marquis Hermiya Touche and Queen Amber would like you to accompany her."
’Using the Marquis as a scapegoat. How typical of you Queen Amber yet so dumb. This is why father discovered it was your plot so easily in the past,’ Vatium thought to himself.
"Okay then let’s go. But shouldn’t I bring some knights with me? I am a prince after all," Vatium inquired innocently.
"Don’t worry master, there’s no one in the Kingdom of Sandeph who would dare to touch you," the butler responded reassuringly.
"Fine then. Do bring back my luggage Sion," Vatium said as he looked at a young man behind him in butler clothes. He had short black hair and a pair of black eyes. He bowed respectfully to Vatium before leaving.
Vatium entered the carriage and sat down. A minute or so later Sion returned with the luggage, placing it in the back. They started to take off, Sion was sitting at the front with the coach. Darkend grins accompanied both of their faces as their plans were soon to be carried through.
Noticing their intentions already, Vatium’s face was plastered with a smile, his eyes were dead-looking however. It took all he had to contain himself, to not kill them for their insolence. The nerve of them, he thought.
Vatium clenched his fist, ’How can you use a High Human as a scapegoat? I’m not even shocked since she barely handles the affairs of the Kingdom. Why would a High Human who’s King Girsal’s loyal dog try to kill his concubine when there’s a loyalty marking on the Marquis? That’s pure stupidity. However, after this is all over I’ll make sure your life would be miserable for daring to hurt my mother.’ As he swore this to himself, anger burned in his eyes like never before.
He’d been treated terribly throughout his life. From his siblings like Ralph to the many concubines who hated he was more close to the King than their own children. He always took the disrespect, allowing it since he didn’t care to rule or have power. All he wanted to do was live with his mother, but because of Queen Amber, that simple desire was getting more difficult by the minute.
’You crossed a line... One that I plan on redrawing.’ With that in his mind, he was ready.
