Saintess? Not Anymore! I'd Rather be a Destroyer-Chapter 383 - 320: vampire had cramps
Life at school went on as usual. The girls attended magic class, normal classes, and history, shared lunch together, and often spent their free time wandering the halls or lounging in the courtyard before heading back to their shared house.
But one day.
A sharp, agonizing scream echoed through the house. The cry was so raw, so pained, that every girl froze where she stood before bolting toward the source. In moments, they were all gathered at Elena’s door.
Inside, Elena writhed on her bed, clawing at the sheets as though tearing them would lessen the pain. Her red eyes were swollen from crying, her fangs occasionally peeking out as she hissed through clenched teeth. Sweat dampened her hair, plastering it to her pale face.
Aurianna lingered at the door, her hand on the frame, unsure if she should even step in. Her white eyes flickered nervously at the sight. "W-what’s wrong with her?" she asked, her voice uncertain.
"Cramps," Shuwi answered flatly, folding her arms. She was apparently the first to Enter Elena’s room.
"Apparently vampire cramps are really bad," Kiana added, feeling sympathy for Elena as she stepped closer to the bed.
Aurianna tilted her head, frowning. "Hmm... I could just heal her."
Shuwi shook her head immediately. "It doesn’t work like that, Aurianna."
"Why not? If I heal her, won’t the pain stop?" Aurianna pressed, genuinely puzzled.
Shuwi gave her a look. "Did you not pay attention in biology? The ovaries in women are supposed to rupture. If you heal her, her body won’t release properly. Next time, it’ll just be worse. It’s how the body expels unused eggs." 𝕗𝗿𝕖𝐞𝐰𝗲𝕓𝐧𝕠𝕧𝗲𝐥.𝚌𝐨𝚖
"Oh..." Aurianna scratched her cheek awkwardly before glancing at Elena. "Elena, how old are you?"
Through gritted teeth, Elena groaned, "One hundred... seventeen..."
Aurianna blinked. "Oh, that explains it. But damn, you’re old."
Elena immediately snapped, her crimson eyes narrowing at Aurianna. "Old?! I am not old by vampire standards! What’s more, aren’t you older than all of us, especially with all that time-space world you train in? I won’t be surprised if you’re currently old enough to be an ancestor!"
"What?!" Aurianna flushed and stomped her foot, her pride stung. "Don’t start yelling at me!!"
"Aurianna, calm down," Shuwi cut in. "It’s just the vampire hormones. Periods make them irritable, angry, and sometimes sad. Don’t take it personally."
Aurianna’s lips curled into a scoff as she folded her arms. "Tch. Still, watching her cry like this is annoying."
"Aurianna!" Kiana huffed, glaring.
"What? I’m just saying what I see."
"You wouldn’t like it if someone said that to you, would you?" Kiana shot back, her tone sharp.
Aurianna pouted, looking away with a mutter. "Hmph."
Shuwi sighed and turned back to her. "You’re a healer, right?"
"Yeah," Aurianna replied, raising a brow.
"Then can you cast pain relief magic? That’s safer than full healing."
Aurianna’s expression softened slightly. "I can do that."
"Good. Then help her." Shuwi stepped aside, giving Aurianna space.
Aurianna approached the bed and knelt at its edge. She extended her hand over Elena’s trembling body, her palm glowing faintly. A gentle warmth spread across the room as Elena’s body shimmered with a white light. Slowly, the vampire’s twisted expression eased, her breathing steadying until she finally relaxed against the sheets.
The glow faded, and Aurianna lowered her hand. "There. She should be fine now. But seriously, is it really that painful?"
Shuwi rubbed her forehead. "Ah, I see... you’re one of those types who never gets period pain."
Aurianna hesitated before answering bluntly, "I’ve actually never gone through it."
The others turned to stare.
"Really?" Kiana whispered, her eyes wide.
Aurianna shrugged. "Actually my body is much older than that but it seems my bone structure ages much slower. I even look like I’m 17. Even in the past when I was an adult I didn’t go through that. I think it’s related to my race."
Kiana said with teary eyes. "So lucky... You’ll never have to suffer through seven days of hell every month..."
’I wonder how it even works for a mermaid though,’ Aurianna thought as she stared at Kiana suspiciously.
Just then, a voice came from the door. "What are you girls talking about?" Christopher peeked in, his brows furrowed.
"Scram! This is a girls topic only! No room for boys!" Shuwi barked, instantly slamming the door shut in his face.
From the other side, Christopher’s muffled voice grumbled, "Damn, Shuwi’s really mean..."
Peter, passing by, chuckled. "She has a point, though. Give them some privacy. Respect it."
"Fine, fine..." Christopher sighed, trudging off to the living room.
Zeche set his book down, looking up calmly. "So... does this mean Elena will miss class today?"
"Probably," Peter answered, stretching.
On the bed, Elena stirred faintly, her eyes fluttering open. She blinked at the girls surrounding her, her vision watery. When she spotted Aurianna, her lips trembled into a smile. "Th-thank you... You saved my life..." Tears of relief welled again in her crimson eyes.
Aurianna said, "You’re welcome."
"Now then, let me help you bathe," Shuwi said gently, slipping an arm under Elena’s and guiding her toward the bathroom. Elena leaned heavily on her, still a bit pale but no longer writhing in pain.
Nearly an hour passed before the two finally came to the main room. Elena and Shuwi were both fresh with clean clothes. Elena especially her afro hair freshly washed and tied back. She looked exhausted but undeniably better.
"You’re really good at this, Shuwi," Aurianna remarked, arms folded as she leaned casually against the wall.
Shuwi chuckled, brushing damp strands of hair from her own forehead. "Well, I do have a younger sibling. I was his primary caretaker for most of his life. Stuff like this isn’t new to me."
As she spoke, her sharp eyes caught the way Kiana’s expression shifted. The girl looked uncomfortable, her lips twitching as though she wanted to say something but swallowed it back. Her gaze lingered on Shuwi almost guiltily.
Shuwi sighed, shaking her head. "No, my parents aren’t dead, if that’s what you’re thinking. I just like taking care of everyone in my home. It makes me feel... useful."
Kiana’s face immediately brightened, though shame colored her cheeks. "I wasn’t going to say that," she whispered quickly, shaking her head.
"It was in your eyes," Shuwi replied softly.
"I’m sorry, Shuwi..." Kiana stated.
Shuwi gave a small laugh, her lips tugging into a smile. "No offense taken. Really. I’m used to people assuming things about me."
