School Hunk or Childhood Sweetheart?-Chapter 389 I’d Rather Hear You Call Me Hubby
Sheng Ting had just returned to his apartment when he received a call from Shen Weiyi.
"Is the situation resolved?" he asked while unlocking the door.
"Yes!" Shen Weiyi had just finished talking to Shen Juanzhi and returned to her room. As she walked towards the dressing room to get clothes for a shower, she explained to him the purpose of the old house’s visit.
"Please let my uncle and aunt know that if the people from the old house are persistent, they don’t need to bother with them."
"Okay!" Sheng Ting replied, "I will talk to my dad about it, but are you sure you don’t need help? If the project is truly viable, both families could sit down and discuss it. After all, we are family, and my dad wouldn’t mind."
He didn’t want her to become too estranged from the people of the old house.
After all, they all shared the Shen surname, and the Shen Family was ultimately her family.
"No need!" Shen Weiyi refused.
She feared that if she accepted help this time, the people from the old house would cling to her like glue in the future.
It would only bring more trouble.
Thinking of this, Shen Weiyi’s voice carried a hint of apology, "I’m sorry, it seems I’ve caused you trouble again." If it weren’t for her, the people from the old house wouldn’t have set their sights on the Sheng Family.
"It’s alright; this isn’t much trouble at all. What’s more, we are going to be family soon, so you don’t need to be so formal with me, fiancée." He emphasized the last three words deliberately.
Upon hearing this, a smile spread across Shen Weiyi’s face, "Alright, we’ll leave it at that for now. I’ll hang up, my fiancé!"
"Actually, I’d prefer to hear you call me ’husband,’" Sheng Ting’s gentle voice came through the phone, word by word, reaching her ears.
Shen Weiyi couldn’t help but feel her ears begin to heat up and quickly ended the call.
She took her clothes and entered the bathroom.
The warm water slid over her skin, and her body and mind completely relaxed. Thinking of Sheng Ting’s words just now, the corners of her mouth lifted unconsciously.
She seemed... to be looking forward to it more and more!
Whether it was because Shen Juanzhi had intervened or the Sheng Family had refused to cooperate, she hadn’t heard anything about the two families, Shen Sheng, working together afterwards. Instead, she had heard that the Shen Family had mortgaged the company to borrow a large sum of money from the bank.
With Shen Juanzhi handling these matters, she didn’t need to worry.
In a blink of an eye, it had been three months since Shen Weiyi’s internship had ended and she officially started working.
The company was also undergoing a new round of personnel changes.
Ever since Chen Rong found out Shen Weiyi’s true identity, she had been walking on eggshells. Although she wasn’t fired, she felt a lot of pressure every day. Presumably knowing that she had offended Shen Weiyi and that a promotion was out of reach, she took the initiative to request a transfer to a branch office.
Meng Qiao was transferred to the branch office as well.
Meng Qiao wanted to secure a position in the secretary’s office and naturally was not willing to be sent to the branch office.
She felt it was Shen Weiyi’s way of getting back at her.
So, she submitted her resignation on the day the transfer notice was issued.
As she was leaving, she made a point of looking at Shen Weiyi, "I used to think that an heir to a corporation would have a broader perspective than the average person. Now it seems I was wrong."
Then she turned to the others, "I’m the one leaving this time. Next time, who do you think it will be?"
Suddenly, everyone’s view of Shen Weiyi changed.
After all, there were quite a few people in the office who had sided with Meng Qiao against her.
Shen Weiyi said indifferently, "You are mistaken, the decision to send you to the branch office was made after consultation and consideration by the department leaders, and it has nothing to do with me. I believe they have their reasons for such arrangements."
"Hmph!" Meng Qiao just scoffed and then strode out of the office.
Clearly, she took Shen Weiyi’s words with a grain of salt.
