School Hunk or Childhood Sweetheart?-Chapter 416 - 417: About Raising Children
About three months old, the little guy had started to learn how to blow bubbles.
"So dirty," Sheng Yan, the little boy, commented with disdain while skillfully taking out a cloth to wipe off the drool.
The little one happily waved his tiny hands, making cooing and babbling sounds.
Shen Weiyi laughed and said beside him, "He must be getting his teeth soon."
Sheng Yan closely examined his gums and indeed noticed some small white spots on the lower gum.
By evening, the little one’s spirits were clearly drooping.
"Would you take a look to see if he’s got a fever?"
Shen Weiyi touched the little one’s head and it was indeed a bit warm but not very obvious. He then used a thermometer to check, and it read 37.3 degrees, which was slightly higher than the normal body temperature.
Shen Weiyi knew that when children were teething, their temperature might be a bit higher than usual, so he just gave him some more warm water and didn’t worry too much about it.
But still keeping it in mind, he especially got up in the middle of the night to check and found Sheng Yan actually lying next to the crib.
Shen Weiyi woke him up and asked, "Why don’t you go back to your room to sleep?"
Sheng Yan glanced in the direction of the crib and said nothing.
Shen Weiyi immediately understood and said, "Worried about Xiao Ye?"
"I am not worried about him," Sheng Yan insisted stubbornly, "I just, just didn’t want his discomfort to wake you guys up with his crying, that’s all."
Shen Weiyi knew this kid was just being tough-mouthed with a soft heart and didn’t expose him.
He took out the thermometer and checked the little one’s temperature again. It was still 37.3 degrees, just like during the day.
"He’ll be alright, won’t he? Should we take him to the hospital?" Sheng Yan asked with a frown.
"It’s fine, don’t worry," Shen Weiyi touched his head and reassured, "Look how soundly he’s sleeping; you can tell he’s not uncomfortable. Now go, you should get some sleep!"
Generally, children might cry and fuss when they are uncomfortable during teething, but the little one really hadn’t. He ate and slept as usual, proving easier to care for than a little piglet.
Besides, the Sheng Family had live-in nannies specifically for childcare, so there was no need for a child like him to worry.
"We really don’t need to go to the hospital?" Sheng Yan gazed at the little figure in the crib, still feeling uneasy.
"No need, rest assured," Shen Weiyi immediately opened his phone, searched for information about mild fever during teething to show him, and explained that it was normal and needed no special treatment.
After reading the information, young Sheng Yan finally returned to his own room.
The next day, Shen Weiyi came down from upstairs and found young Sheng Yan already awake, sitting in the living room with a parenting book in his hands.
Shen Weiyi: ...
Why does it feel like this kid is even more concerned about raising the child than I am?
Since there were many in the family eager to take care of the little one, Shen Weiyi generally didn’t have to worry too much, and after the baby turned one hundred days old, she returned to work at Shen Technology.
However, she didn’t go back to the executive office but to the finance department, specifically taking charge of the auditing section.
Auditing is a job that values both professional and logical thinking skills, even emphasizing the latter more. Working in the auditing department can cultivate risk awareness in reserve talents, which is also an important quality for future senior leadership positions.
Given Shen Weiyi’s identity, which was no longer a secret, everyone in the company knew about her, and there were no objections to her transfer to the finance department.
After all, everyone knew that she was eventually going to take over Shen Technology.
The entire company was hers; naturally, she could go wherever she wanted.
