Seeking Truth with a Sword-Chapter 674 - 606 Bifeng_2
THUD!
He relied on the psychic barrier to fend off a crashing tentacle from the Spider Transformation. He recalled eight Bone Fragments, stacking them together into a solid cube that spun forcefully towards the central disc of the spider creation.
The Spider Transformation’s body, covered with thorny spines, immediately twisted into a cluster. This formed a felt-like complex structure to greatly reduce the force. Meanwhile, two tendrils split off to form suction cups, firmly adhering to the bottom of the lake to stabilize its form.
BOOM—
Bolstered by immense Telekinesis, the solid cube fashioned from the Bone Fragments weighed like a mountain.
Despite being prepared, the Spider Transformation was still forcibly knocked back, its two tentacles scraping the ground and leaving behind narrow tracks.
But in the next instant, the Spider Transformation flew back, its speed several times faster than before. Six tentacles obscured vision as they swept down in an attack.
How is this possible?!
Xi Yangyu’s gaze sharpened. He knew that the hulking and hefty form of this demon should hardly be so swift, especially propelled solely by Cloud Patrol Realm Telekinesis.
The Candle Cloud Telekinesis Master’s Heart Thoughts raced. With several divisions of his mind, he immediately discerned the phenomenon’s cause—
Behind the battlefield, at some unknown time, more than ten Mo Si flagpoles had been erected. Each was connected to a sucker, firmly planted at the bottom of the lake. Through extremely fine threads, they hooked onto the central Compass of the Spider Transformation.
Back at the beginning of the fight, Li Ang had punched Xi Yangyu, and many Mo Si spikes had shattered against the psychic barrier.
He had not reclaimed those Mo Si but allowed them to lie in wait, submerged at the bottom of the lake.
Just now, he had awoken these Mo Si. Through the threads, he hooked onto the Spider Transformation, using them as a pulley system and tightening the threads with all his might. Combined with the thrust of Telekinesis, he surged forward rapidly.
As the distance between them closed again, the Spider Transformation discarded defense. All its tendrils twined together to form a drill shape.
At breakneck speed, the drill spun, bringing fierce winds with it, its tip blazing with intense Telekinesis fluctuations.
"Futile resistance," Xi Yangyu uttered grimly. One of his Heart Thoughts continuously calculated the exhaustion of both sides by monitoring the fluctuations of Spiritual Energy around the battlefield.
He was well aware that Li Ang was now on his last legs, with very little Spiritual Energy remaining.
This grand strike was but a final act of desperation.
With a thought, his fingers flicked, and Xi Yangyu controlled the eight Bifeng Bone Fragments to rapidly spin and fly back.
From each fragment’s four corners, visible Telekinesis whirlwinds extended, like the giant blades of a wind turbine, slashing into the tentacles.
Tough Mo Si fibers were first split in two, then promptly dragged and whirled into ashes by the Telekinesis whirlwinds.
Massive amounts of Mo Si powder formed a blood mist, diffusing and fluttering.
SWISH—
The blood mist spread over the lake surface, darkening the waters as well.
The Spider Transformation tried to reconnect its limbs. However, the disordered Telekinesis clung to the torn tendrils like a festering bone sore, preventing the wounds from healing.
Since that was the case, Li Ang directly issued a final command to these limbs.
BANG!
Eight tentacles, like rocket boosters, separated. Each one, upon detaching from the main body, swelled, dispersed, and reverted to thread form, creating vast, resilient energy webs.
Weak, current-like Telekinesis waves echoed between the webs, causing them to swiftly tighten and ensnare the Bifeng Bone Fragments before they could escape.
The Bifeng Bone Fragments were empowered by the Candle Cloud Telekinesis Master’s Telekinesis and capable of slicing through the networks with brute force. Even so, this only bought Li Ang about half a second.
That was enough.
The remaining tendrils suddenly accelerated, surging within ten steps as the drill tip spun rapidly, lunging towards Xi Yangyu.
One layer, two layers, three layers...
The psychic barriers Xi Yangyu had erected shattered in succession. The Telekinesis shockwaves released in that moment embedded themselves within the space, leaving behind layers upon layers of chaotic, glass-cracking lines.
Of the five Dao Paths of the Talismanic Sword Thought Body, the Martial Artist’s body was tempered through a thousand hammers and hundred refines. The Sword Master’s physique was a notch less robust, while the physiques of Magic Masters, Talisman Masters, and Telekinesis Masters, in their normal states, were not much stronger than an ordinary person’s.
During the tumultuous times of Former Sui, assassinations occurred frequently; even the leaders of Sects were constantly in danger.
Some Telekinesis Masters, fearful of being assassinated, would insert threads of special materials under their skin to create armor.
When faced with slashing blades, the Mind Thread armor would harden on its own to block attacks, seizing a chance at life.
Xi Yangyu had long known of this Cultivation Technique’s existence from the books in the Academic Palace’s Book Collection Pavilion.
However, his complex character was a mixture of an inferiority complex from his humble origins and arrogance from his rapid Cultivation progress. This led him to dismiss learning this Cultivation Technique, which he found neither aesthetically pleasing nor comfortable.
If a Telekinesis Master’s body was fragile, then one must never let the enemy touch it.
This thought flashed through his mind. The remaining Bifeng Bone Fragments swiftly flew back, hovering and gathering in front of his palm.
Xi Yangyu’s gaze was icy. He clenched his palm into a fist, took a step forward, and threw his punch.
BOOM————
The explosive shockwave, with the point of collision between the Bifeng Bone Fragments and the drill as its center, spread out in all directions.
The recently gathered waters were pushed aside again, raising huge waves like dark lines painted towards the horizon’s end.
He had won.
In the seas of Xi Yangyu’s mind, almost all the Heart Thoughts responsible for evaluating and predicting the course of the battle provided this conclusion.
The main hub of the Spider Transformation was utterly mangled. All the muscle fibers inside its few remaining tendrils were completely ruptured. The massive form teetered on the brink of collapse, desperately maintaining balance to prevent itself from crashing to the lake’s bed.
Xi Yangyu himself was not in great shape either. The overwhelming Telekinesis output had caused the capillaries in his right hand to burst one after another.
His arm was drenched in blood, three fingernails had been blown off, and it was trembling uncontrollably.
