Seizing the BOSS Template at the Start-Chapter 280 - 163: Tear of Rules
He sensed the lingering ripples in the air, lost in thought.
This is the other extreme of frenzy.
Abandoning the possibility of control, retaining only the ultimate release, in this release, materials, carriers, and souls all influence its limits.
Madness·Bloom can no longer be called flesh transformation.
Instead... it is a biological weapon.
A true biological weapon, and a one-time use one at that.
Baiyi crouched down to touch the ground that had turned to powder, raised his hand, and the remaining dozen or so mechanical mosquitoes in the sky flew down and entered his space ring.
Baiyi slowly walked towards the few remnants of Yu Yuan.
After checking, Baiyi was somewhat moved. This blooming was extremely perfect; even in death, the bodies of extraordinary creatures should carry extraordinary attributes.
For example, a corpse with an endurance of a hundred is much tougher than that of an ordinary person.
Yet the limbs left after the frenzy’s explosion are completely ordinary flesh and blood.
Without any trace of extraordinary attributes.
Baiyi looked at the giant lizard, its body still dissolving.
Monsters created in the Rule Zone, their rules dissolve after the Rule Zone is destroyed, ultimately not truly living beings.
Turning around, Baiyi began to set up a teleportation array. He was just here to confirm the body of the Madness·Bloom; as a researcher, he needed some data to improve it better.
However, now it seems everything is perfect. If the core of this world can be found, these slaves might not even refresh.
If they do, this transformation becomes a weapon. 𝕗𝐫𝚎𝗲𝘄𝐞𝕓𝐧𝕠𝘃𝕖𝐥.𝐜𝚘𝚖
The only limitation is the materials. The materials for Madness Transformation aren’t cabbages; some things can’t be bought even with money.
Crack~
Just as Baiyi finished setting up the teleportation array and stood on it, he sensed something.
He bent down and picked up a transparent crystalline structure from the dust.
[You have obtained Tear of Rules ×1.]
[Tear of Rules: The crystallization of rules, possibly containing some power of the rules.]
[Hint: Submit the Rule Crystal to the panel to gain a special skill point.]
[Special Skill Point: A skill with a full skill level can be upgraded once.]
Baiyi was stunned, special skill points... never heard of such a thing?
Yet looking at the literal meaning, it seems to use the power of the panel to develop skills?
Like how frenzy evolved into Madness·Bloom?
Or skill upgrades?
Baiyi examined the crystalline structure in his hands, lost in thought; even the panel wants it, it must be something good.
Skill upgrade... the power of rules....
Thinking, Baiyi hesitated, then decided against submitting it to the panel.
The reward was tempting, but Baiyi had an idea.
This world was created by the Lady of the Night using rules; could this Tear of the Rules be understood as part of the Lady of the Night’s rules?
Perhaps his current strength was too weak to understand what it was for, but the panel’s urgency showed its value.
Therefore, rather than upgrading a skill once, Baiyi leaned towards using it for greater things.
For example... the Federation’s peace, the Level 90 Sword Saint.
Take it back and let him see first; if it could help the Sword Saint break through, Dawn’s development could take an aggressive turn.
Though the Forbidden Legendary doesn’t add to lifespan, it’s relative; an increase in power should add a decade or two to one’s lifespan.
This time, combined with his original thirty-year lifespan, the shelter he could obtain would surpass what upgrading a skill could offer.
And the power the Forbidden Legendary commands is on par with that of a god.
Should the Forbidden Legendary exist, the Federation could manufacture Forbidden Equipment.
Forbidden Equipment significantly boosts ordinary legendaries; overall, any breakthrough to Level 1 for the Sword Saint would mean the Federation would no longer live in fear.
With Baiyi’s growth rate, he was confident he could enter the Legendary Domain in fifty years.
And if the Old Sword Saint couldn’t use it, exchanging it for a skill point later wouldn’t be a loss.
Spiritual Power surged out, instantly covering the entire battlefield. This was not hinted at; what if there was something missed?
The investigation by Spiritual Power completed almost instantly, but unfortunately, he did not find similar crystals.
A bit disappointed, but he quickly cheered up.
The monsters of rules could drop such good stuff, so should the other Rule Zones be tested with a couple of Madness·Bloom?
Since there were still nine more frenzies, testing more wouldn’t hurt....
Thinking, Baiyi was eager to try; the power of Madness·Bloom was stronger than he had anticipated.
Night Town doesn’t need so many; even with Charles and the rest there, five should be enough to negate their advantage.
Standing in the teleportation array, the spatial fluctuations flashed, leaving only a piece of explosive on the spot.
With a rumbling sound, the teleportation array was destroyed.
Baiyi shook his slightly dizzy head, walked out of the laboratory, and prepared to find the King.
Aside from Night Town, this Kingdom had three other Rule Zones; he needed the precise coordinates of these Rule Zones.
But just then, Zero’s reminder appeared.
Zero: [The conflict in Night Town has erupted, and today’s new rule: Shadows cannot be stepped on.]
Baiyi paused, frowning, how could it be now?
"How could it be now?"
Pu Sheng glanced at the noon sun, his brows deeply furrowed.
It was only a day; he clearly informed Charles of Baiyi’s news....
And now Baiyi hadn’t appeared, Charles would have to be insane to launch a full attack now.
Buzz~
Strong fluctuations spread out, entering Night Town from different positions.
Slaughter and destruction were spreading.
"Those people have broken in, let’s gather and kill them."
A cold voice sounded, Pu Sheng turned his head; it was spoken by a somewhat weakened Golden Upper Tier.
Yesterday at dawn, he was the Fighting Master who had his fist shattered by Charles directly.
His aura was somewhat unstable now, but his killing intent and displeasure were still evident.
Golden Upper Tier, a position of absolute high rank within Black Night Rose.
He had never been oppressed by anyone; yesterday was the most humiliating experience for him.
"Alright, let’s spread out; today’s rule isn’t suitable for group combat." Pu Sheng nodded in response, turned around, and his figure instantly vanished.
He intended to find the Mayor; Charles was too dangerous, and he needed the protection of a big figure; the Mayor representing the Rule of Night was evidently the best choice.
In rapid stealth, Pu Sheng suddenly paused and turned towards the town center.
He suddenly realized Charles wouldn’t be that stupid.
The main targets were clearly only three: the World Core of the Small World, the emerging Divine Abomination, and the method to create the Divine Abomination.
And none of the three seemed to require direct confrontation.
If Charles aimed for the World Core, that would be manageable, as finding it required effort and might demand the town’s destruction, but concerning the other two....
With so many Dawn Squad members present, Charles could completely rely on his stealth to bypass direct conflicts and head straight to the base of the Night Cultists.
Pu Sheng quickly reached the town center and began summoning companions in the manner of the Night Cultists.
He couldn’t mobilize the Old Mayor; he was busy clearing members of the Dawn Squad and trying to fend off Charles.
The Night Cultists had six Golden Upper Tiers in total, and he needed at least four for a guaranteed victory.
Approximately thirty seconds later.
Two figures wearing masks and magic robes appeared.
They glanced at Pu Sheng with some confusion, not understanding why he was calling them to gather in such a situation; wasn’t killing enemies the priority?
"The making of the Divine Abomination is at a crucial moment; all we need to do is ensure its normal birth. The Core is most important, and right now, there’s no protection here."
The two Night Cultists exchanged a glance, nodded, and complied with Pu Sheng’s instructions.
To them, the mission of the Lady of the Night was the top priority.
The rules of this world were daily tasks, while creating the Divine Abomination and placing it into the Dawn Federation was the true mission.
With both needing adherence, there was still a hierarchy between them.
