Sending the Groom to Jail on My Ex-Girlfriend’s Wedding-Chapter 3
Chapter 3
“Wow, this really does look somewhat alike!”
“Su Xuan, you little devil, how did you spot it? I didn’t even notice!”
“This guy doesn’t exactly match the description on the warrant, but his age and build fit. Probably got some plastic surgery…”
“Wait, what’s this wealthy guy’s name? Gao Qi, right?”
“Oh, come on, isn’t the one on the warrant called Qi Gao? Well, this guy just flipped the names, treating us like fools?”
“That settles it, it’s him! This guy had us working for half a month, and it turns out he’s right here…”
Several officers recalled the details of the wanted notice and immediately connected the fugitive with the groom nearby. They spoke indignantly.
After their realization, they looked at Su Xuan in astonishment, slapping his shoulder.
“Nice one, kid! You’ve got some skills to notice this!”
“You’re quite something, I thought you were just being rash and unclear-headed, but damn, you’re actually quite sharp. That memory of yours is something else!”
One of the officers gave Su Xuan a thumbs-up and was clearly excited.
“Guys, we won’t worry about not getting a bonus this month.”
“Exactly, if we catch this fugitive, the entire department will give us accolades! Good job, Su Xuan, you’ve really led us to success!”
The officers were elated as they spoke. In the midst of their conversation, another officer suddenly remembered something.
“Speaking of which, Su Xuan, you sly dog. You knew something was off about this guy all along, yet you only remembered now? You really didn’t plan to let your ex-girlfriend have a good wedding, huh!”
“Haha, this wedding is definitely ruined now. Let her experience a taste of her own medicine.”
“Make her regret treating our Brother Xuan poorly. Way to go! Bro, I’m with you…”
Hearing this, Su Xuan shook his head helplessly.
He genuinely had no feelings left for his ex-girlfriend. But since these guys had already assumed as much, he didn’t feel the need to explain further.
With a wave of his hand, he said, “Alright, let’s go in!”
Observing this, the other officers also assumed a serious demeanor. They swiftly adjusted their uniforms and transformed into solemn police officers.
“Alright, when it comes to apprehending a fugitive, we need to be fast, accurate, and ruthless!”
“This guy probably has no clue about the impending disaster, and he’s not even considering running. Let’s go in and take him down!”
As they spoke, Su Xuan pushed the door open and walked toward the newlyweds not far away.
The previously closed doors of the banquet hall swung open once again, capturing the attention of many guests. When they saw Su Xuan and his team dressed in police uniforms, the once boisterous banquet hall immediately fell silent, with only the echo of the song reverberating within.
The girl controlling the music rushed to turn it off, and the whole hall became as quiet as a chicken coop.
Everyone stared at the police officers in front of them, unable to help but whisper to each other. They couldn’t understand why the police had shown up at what was supposed to be a joyous wedding.
When the music ceased, the newlyweds on the stage seemed to sense something amiss. They turned their gaze towards the entrance, and when the bride, Qin Shuyi, saw Su Xuan at the forefront, her expression froze.
Her face immediately darkened.
She thought that Su Xuan had truly given up since she hadn’t received any warnings before her wedding today.
Yet here he was, causing a scene at this moment.
Regarding her transformation from breaking up over dowry issues to marrying a wealthy man, Qin Shuyi felt absolutely no guilt. In her view, she and Su Xuan had broken up during their argument about the dowry. As for how she found her new husband so quickly…
Well, that was because she’s naturally attractive and Gao Qi is rich. It was much better than Su Xuan, who had no money.
Even if she hadn’t broken up with Su Xuan, he shouldn’t prevent her from pursuing a better life. Not to mention, they were already broken up.
“Su Xuan, what are you doing here now?”
“We’re all adults, and we’ve broken up. You’re causing a scene at my wedding. Are you even a man anymore?”
“I know you have feelings for me, but we’re no longer together. You, a penniless guy who can’t even come up with a dowry, still want to seek attention in front of me?”
“Coming here with your people today won’t change anything. Wearing a police uniform, do you think I’m scared? Even if you try to interrupt my wedding today, I won’t leave with you…”
Looking at Su Xuan, who was slowly approaching, Qin Shuyi said with a cold expression.
Thinking that Su Xuan was here to disrupt the wedding, she grew extremely furious and launched into a mocking tirade.
Even though she had been with Su Xuan for so many years, Qin Shuyi never truly loved him. Their relationship had only been a badge of pride for her as a cop’s girlfriend, giving her a sense of superiority.
But a penniless guy who couldn’t even afford a dowry was not the type of man she intended to marry.
Confronted with Su Xuan’s persistence, Qin Shuyi felt nothing but disdain. In her eyes, he was unworthy.
After receiving an inexplicable scolding, Su Xuan’s lips twitched. He shot her a disdainful glance.
He couldn’t fathom what the original host saw in Qin Shuyi. She wasn’t that good-looking. Where did she find the audacity to talk big?
“Madam, I’m not blind. My eyes can tell right from wrong,” Su Xuan said with a cold chuckle. “Don’t think everyone is enamored with you. Step aside. I’m not here for you today!”
Having finished speaking, Su Xuan’s words left Qin Shuyi utterly dumbfounded.
She raised her head abruptly, eyes filled with astonishment. She hadn’t anticipated that Su Xuan would say such things.
After all, in her perspective, Su Xuan had quite an affinity for her. This was the basis for her arrogance in his presence.
But what was the situation now?
Was Su Xuan… implying that she was ugly?
With this thought, a surge of anger welled up within Qin Shuyi. She glared at Su Xuan and was about to unleash her tirade.
However, considering the multitude of guests present and her husband by her side, she held back and warned him instead.
“Su Xuan, I know you feel wronged by me. But this can’t all be blamed on me. I’ve already discussed the dowry situation with you.”
“A small-time cop earning four or five thousand yuan a month, with a family so poor they can’t afford a dowry – it’s stupid of you to think I wouldn’t leave. And let’s not forget, I met my husband after we broke up. I haven’t wronged you!”
“And now, you’re causing a scene again. Can’t we all just stay calm and quiet?”
…
Qin Shuyi defended her stance with an air of righteousness. If not for knowing the true nature of their “breakup” from the original host’s memories, Su Xuan might have actually believed her.
Looking at Qin Shuyi’s self-assured demeanor, Su Xuan could only sigh in resignation.
“I have no idea where your sense of superiority comes from, making you think I’m here to crash a wedding.”
“And crash it? What a joke! You think you can get attention with that unattractive face? What right do you have to make me give up my police uniform and crash a wedding for you?”
“Qin Shuyi, whether you’re begging under a bridge or groveling in a mansion, it’s all irrelevant to me. I’m not interested in you anymore!”
“Today, I’m here for him!”
As he spoke, Su Xuan pointed at the groom by his side.
And the gazes of the audience below were diverted…
