Chu Wuyao didn’t know that the terrifying, powerful Lord of Corruption, who was able to kill thousands of outer disciples and even many elders of the Original Desire Sect, had turned into somebody’s food, while his Godhead had turned into a material for a Magic Weapon.

At the moment, she had returned to the Outer Area of the Original Desire Sect, or to be more accurate, she had been teleported here.

Not only her, but the other outer disciples participating in the sect competition had been teleported to the square where disciples had gathered before the start of the competition.

Chu Wuyao was able to recognize some of then and after glancing around, she found some very familiar faces.

From Ruan Yi, to Yuan Zhuo and senior sister Yue.

However, she also saw that the vast majority of the outer disciples were missing and their final fate was self-evident.

Even the outer disciples that were still alive were not in a good condition, with some of them having black tattoos all over their bodies and the other ones having pale faces from the fear and the constant corruption that tried to wipe out their consciousness.

Just when everyone was wondering what to do, a young man appeared above the square and looked at the disciples below.

This young man was Deputy Leader Lu, and by now, his expression had returned back to normal, as if he wasn’t the one that had been scared just not long ago.

"Okay everyone, there have been some changes in the sect competition this time."

"This sect competition is going to be canceled. The sect is going to announce the date of the next competition soon."

Deputy Leader Lu didn’t care enough to wait for the disciples below to ask their question and he hurriedly left without leaving any explanation.

When the outer disciples saw this, some of then turned furious.

Recalling the previous events and the fact that they had almost lost their lives, some of them could not hold their anger in when they saw the Deputy Leader Lu’s careless attitude.

It’s as if the sect didn’t care about their lives at all!

"No! The sect has to give us an explanation!"

"That’s right! My junior brother lost his life. I won’t leave this place until I receive some compensation!"

A few disciples spoke up, voicing their complaints.

With the first disciple speaking up, there was a second one and soon, the majority of the disciples were scolding the sect, demanding an explanation.

Seeing this happening, Chu Wuyao’s expression was indifferent and she felt nothing.

After she took a look at these disciples, she was not willing to stay at this place any longer and walked off.

Just like Chu Wuyao, there was also a small amount of disciples that left this place quickly, not willing to participate in the disciple’s "protest".

While she was on the way to her residence, Chu Wuyao thought about everything that had happened.

Although she couldn’t know the result of the fight between the Sect Leader and that terrifying gray ball, she was able to guess some things.

Unconsciously, she recalled her experiences over the past month and she was vaguely able to connect some seemingly unrelated things together.

From her picking up the mission and leaving the sect, to killing the white-haired man and obtaining the gray eyeball, to the fact that this eyeball ended up being the "key" of the Mist Dragon’s inheritance.

All these seemingly coincidental events were connected together and in the end, Chu Wuyao realized something.

"Is this the power of high-level cultivators?", she wondered and subconsciously raised her head and looked at the blue sky.

Perhaps it was her illusion, but Chu Wuyao felt that she could see a large web in the empty sky, that connected everyone and everything together.

It’s as if there was a person controlling everyone’s fate, deciding how the future would play out and manipulating it according to their will.

But soon, this web of fate quickly disappeared from her field of vision.

Chu Wuyao didn’t care about this and many thoughts passed through her mind.

"No, this is wrong...", she suddenly shook her head and felt that her guess was somewhat incorrect.

To be more accurate, Chu Wuyao was a little biased and her guess focused too much on her own role.

"Although these coincidences were obviously guided by someone, they didn’t interfere with my thoughts nor with any of my actions."

"It is very likely that they didn’t even know or care about my existence at all."

"That person only cares about the final result: the inheritance of the Mist Dragon has to be opened."

"How this happens, who does it and who receives the inheritance is not on their mind at all."

Even though this was just a guess and seemed a little baseless, Chu Wuyao had a strong hunch that this was actually the truth.

While she lamented about the strength of powerful cultivators once again, she felt strangely relaxed.

Chu Wuyao didn’t care how powerful these cultivators were, as long as they didn’t directly affect her.

The thing that Chu Wuyao hated the most was nothing else but the feeling that her thoughts and actions were controlled by someone or something else.

As long as this didn’t happen, she didn’t care about other things.

While Chu Wuyao was deep in thought, she had unknowingly reached her residence.

After she opened the door, she walked inside, sat on the bed and emptied her mind, no longer thinking about the previous events.

Chu Wuyao knew that this was a "battle" between cultivators surpassing the Supernatural Realm and it was obviously not something a mere outer disciple could get themselves involved in.

"Strength...", Chu Wuyao muttered and the pride that she had for having dealt with Li Ruoshi was instantly extinguished.

"No matter how strong a cultivator at the Qi Accumulation Realm is, they are just at the Qi Accumulation Realm."

"If I want to have the ability to control my destiny and prevent such events from happening in the future, I’ll have to continue improving my strength.", Chu Wuyao thought and she instantly made up her mind to try and break through the Shackles Realm as soon as possible.

But before she did so, she had to deal with some things first.

Thinking of this, Chu Wuyao took the Blood Flag out of her space ring and stared at it expressionlessly.

"Get out.", she said coldly, facing the Blood Flag.

However, a few seconds passed and nothing happened.

This scene would cause people to doubt whether she had gone crazy and started talking to herself, but Chu Wuyao continued staring at the Blood Flag.

"If you don’t get out right now, I’m going to let you stay in the space ring for the rest of your life."

Chu Wuyao’s threat seemed to work and after she finished speaking, a change took place in the Blood Flag.

Just above the flag, a small transparent figure appeared and looked back at Chu Wuyao with an indifferent expression.

This figure was female, with long black hair, black eyes and a nice figure, and it was someone that Chu Wuyao was very familiar with.

Li Ruoshi.
