She Asks for a Divorce Again-Chapter 353 Good Calculations
Chapter 353: Chapter 353 Good Calculations
"You really are quite the schemer."
Chen Wenzhou looked at her and said, his fingers curved as he lightly tapped on the surface of the bedside table, "I hadn’t seen it before, but you’re much more vicious than me."
Chen Lingmeng looked at him and said, "It’s mutual between us."
Chen Wenzhou said, "I can agree to what you’ve said, but I need you to keep it absolutely secret."
Chen Lingmeng didn’t even need to think to know that the reason he wanted secrecy was because of Lu Yunlan.
Lu Yunlan’s relationship with Shen Heyu was too good. If he hurt Pei Yansi and she found out, their relationship would be irrevocably broken.
Of course, Chen Wenzhou wanted to keep it from Lu Yunlan.
And keep it tightly hidden.
For Chen Lingmeng, this wasn’t a difficult task at all. She nodded and agreed.
Chen Wenzhou glanced at the IV drip she was on and said, "With that settled, let’s consider the matter closed. I hope you can cooperate with me and explain things to Lu Yunlan."
Chen Lingmeng furrowed her brow. Other than this, everything seemed fine to her, but explaining things to Lu Yunlan made her somewhat discontent.
She knew the relationship between Lu Yunlan and Shen Heyu was incredibly close.
And they shared some personality traits. Wasn’t it because Lu Yunlan thought Chen Wenzhou was vicious that she was unwilling to continue with him?
Yet she was also indecisive, having not yet made a real decision up to now.
"I won’t go," Chen Lingmeng said: "You should settle your own romantic debts. What does it have to do with me?"
Chen Wenzhou said, "We’re partners now. I hope you understand."
"If you help me this time with Pei Yansi’s matter, naturally I will also do my utmost for you." ƒгeeweɓn૦vel.com
In the end, he was still taking advantage of Chen Lingmeng, wanting to accomplish his goal of obtaining Pei Yansi.
She lowered her head and thought carefully; in reality, it was simply because she disliked Lu Yunlan. She hated Shen Heyu, and by extension disliked her as well.
But in truth, if she really thought about it, she didn’t know Lu Yunlan at all; there was no talk of hatred.
Chen Lingmeng eventually agreed, after all nothing was more important to her than Pei Yansi.
As long as Chen Wenzhou was willing to agree to help her steal Pei Yansi even better.
However, before that, she had to do something even bolder.
She just couldn’t dare to tell Chen Wenzhou directly about this matter.
Others might not know, but she was well aware of the rumour that he would stop at nothing for profit.
But he would only coarsely use underhanded methods, forcing people into a corner so he could ultimately achieve his goals.
He wouldn’t go so far as to physically harm someone or threaten their safety.
But Chen Lingmeng was different.
Venom ran deep in her bones – if she told Chen Wenzhou about this, he would surely turn around and tell Lu Yunlan.
And then the matter would lose all element of privacy.
In that case, she would surely fail.
Chen Wenzhou didn’t know what she was thinking; he just knew she had agreed to make a case for him in front of Lu Yunlan. He immediately left the ward to find her.
Just as he was leaving, he bumped into Lu Yunlan coming out of Lu Yi’s room.
Lu Yunlan seemed like she had just finished taking care of Lu Yi and hadn’t expected to run into Chen Wenzhou, momentarily flustered.
She didn’t even know what to say or what facial expression to make. She quickly lowered her head, attempting to leave.
Seeing this, Chen Wenzhou quickly approached, blocking her way.
"Now you don’t even want to see me?" he asked softly, his voice full of hurt and longing for her.
In truth, it had only been two days since the incident.
But Chen Wenzhou always came across as deeply affectionate, easily stripping away one’s true reasoning, making it easy to be ensnared by his apparent devotion.
Lu Yunlan had grasped this and, since that day, had been reminding herself to maintain her rationality in his presence, not to be deceived by his feigned depth of feeling.
She looked up at him and said, "No, it’s just that I’m still busy. You are blocking my way. Please move aside."
As she spoke, she attempted to walk past him.
Chen Wenzhou wouldn’t allow it. He stepped back and caught up to her again, once more blocking her path.
He extended a hand to the wall, easily encircling her between himself and the wall.
Lu Yunlan was quickly trapped, with his heated chest in front of her and the cold wall behind her. She was confined in his embrace, with nowhere to go horizontally or vertically.
Now she was getting angry, glaring at him, "What exactly do you want? Chen Wenzhou, I made it clear the other day that we need to cool down for a while!"
Her tone was angry, her face turning red with rage, her eyes sparkling with a golden light, the angrier she got, the more enticing she ironically appeared.
Chen Wenzhou watched her quietly, finding her extremely endearing.
The place in his heart reserved just for her softened even more.
He didn’t care what she had said to him before; all he knew was that Lu Yunlan was the person he most wanted to win back right now.
Chen Wenzhou reached out and gently caressed Lu Yunlan’s cheek, his movements and posture extremely tender, "I have something to say to you. Give me a chance, trust me."
"None of this is of any use now," Lu Yunlan rebuffed, "After I’ve calmed down, if I still have any expectations of you, I will certainly listen to your explanation. But as of now, I can’t take in any words, and your presence will only irritate me further."
Lu Yunlan wasn’t wrong; she couldn’t take in any explanations now. If Chen Wenzhou insisted, seeing him this way would only aggravate her more.
Of course, Chen Wenzhou understood this principle that was why he didn’t press and left the scene previously. But things were different now; with Chen Lingmeng’s support, he was certain he could convince Lu Yunlan to believe him.
Chen Wenzhou persisted stubbornly, "That was not my doing. You’ve only heard it from Lu Yi, but there’s no evidence, is there?"
Upon hearing this, Lu Yunlan raised her head and gave him a look, "I don’t believe that—it’s the police’s verdict, not just my brother’s words."
Chen Wenzhou said, "Go see Chen Lingmeng; she will tell you the truth. If you don’t trust me, will you trust her word?"
To Lu Yunlan, Chen Lingmeng was now a victim.
If the victim said that her harm wasn’t wrought by Chen Wenzhou, then, indeed, her word might hold more weight than his.
Lu Yunlan lifted her eyes with a trace of skepticism, "What if she’s being threatened by you?"
"You still can’t explain."
How had he suddenly shown a hint of disappointment, as if deeply heartbroken, he looked earnestly at Lu Yunlan, "After all these years of understanding me, is that not enough to trust me?"
