Chapter 931 - 931: "You've Done Well, Waver."

"Report to the King, Waver Velvet has completed the mission!"

This was the moment Waver had been waiting for, for a long time. He had dreamed of it day and night, hoping for it over and over again.

In the past ten years, he had thought countless times about what he would say when they finally met again: telling him about his growth, about what he had accomplished, about how hard he had worked, and about how he had not tarnished his name.

However, when the time came and he recalled everything that had happened, he realized that there was no need for so many words. One simple sentence—"The mission is complete"—was enough.

His growth, and his accomplishments, were all expected, because they were part of his mission, something he was supposed to do. If he couldn't do it, that's when he would have to report to the King and ask for punishment.

"You've done well, Waver."

Iskandar patted Waver on the shoulder.

"You've truly grown into an outstanding vassal."

"It's what I should have done."

Waver responded in a trembling voice, so emotional that it made Faker pout in dissatisfaction; Flat and Svin whispered to each other, saying things like, "The professor is really like this," "Wow wow, do you think the professor will cry?" "Shh, they can hear us."

Even Gray covered her chest in relief. Her wish, and his wish, had finally come true—they had finally reunited.

"King of Heroes, I must thank you for not killing Waver," Iskandar turned to Gilgamesh and said sincerely.

Gilgamesh snorted, refusing to accept the thanks.

"That was something he earned himself. If he had shown even the slightest trace of being a mongrel at that time, I would have killed him. There are enough mongrels in this world already; I don't want to see more. I'm pleased—you are not a mongrel, nor have you become one. Keep it up, young man from back then. Don't bring shame to the King of Conquerors."

"I don't need you to tell me that," Waver retorted, sticking out his neck defiantly.

Gilgamesh wasn't angry; he chuckled.

"You've grown more resolute than before. It seems these ten years have indeed made a difference. Good, it wouldn't be interesting otherwise. The King of Conquerors already lost once ten years ago. If you were still the same as before, such a challenge wouldn't be worth looking forward to."

"This time, we won't lose!"

Waver, gritting his teeth, declared to the King of Heroes.

"Well said!"

Iskandar once again patted Waver on the shoulder, this time with so much force that Waver almost toppled over.

"Did you hear that, King of Heroes? This time, we will defeat you!"

"Though you have no chance, I still look forward to it."

Gilgamesh smiled faintly, a cold smile tinged with killing intent.

"By the way, King of Conquerors, how long do you plan to keep my treasure?"

"Huh? Wasn't it a gift from you?"

Iskandar tilted his head, feigning surprise, even going as far as to hide the treasure behind his back. Both Faker and Waver couldn't help but show exasperation. This guy's habit of wanting every shiny thing he saw was acting up again.

"You call yourself a king, so stop behaving like a clown."

Gilgamesh laughed.

"Although it does amuse me, I've told you before: anyone who dares covet my treasures will be punished. Or... are you challenging me again?"

"If that's how you want to see it, I don't mind—"

Iskandar laughed fearlessly, showing no sign of being affected by his loss from last time.

"My King," Waver finally couldn't take it anymore and whispered in Iskandar's ear, "Gilgamesh is serious. Have you thought of a strategy to defeat him?"

"Not even a little bit!"

Iskandar shook his head without hesitation.

"My King..."

Waver started to feel a headache coming on, just like when dealing with his problem students.

"Say no more, this is my decision!"

Iskandar remained stubborn.

"Idiot! Do you want to force me to use a Command Seal?"

Waver, at his wit's end, even blurted out the word "idiot."

"Hey, you're my vassal."

"A vassal must advise the king when he's wrong. Now hurry up and return what's not yours!"

"No way! Once something is in my hands, it's not so easy to take it back. Unless... you have something to trade—"

At that, Iskandar showed a mischievous smile, completely out of character for someone so bold.

"—Like that wine, we drank last time. It was truly unforgettable."

"Ah, so that's what you're after. As expected of the King of Plunder, once you've seen a treasure, you never take your eyes off it."

Gilgamesh's killing intent softened into resignation.

"The wine does exist, but it's not time to drink it yet."

"Is there a better time than our reunion?"

"You're not the only familiar face I've encountered. The Queen of the Land of Shadows is also participating in this war, and she's another rival I recognize."

Hearing this, Iskandar grinned even more broadly.

"Oh? She's here too? Now that's interesting! Invite her over quickly. I can't wait to start the feast. To celebrate Waver's achievement, and to celebrate our reunion!"

"Don't be so hasty, King of Conquerors. The Holy Grail War has only just begun, and there may be others worth watching."

Ten years ago, Gilgamesh would never have said such a thing. But after encountering Iskandar and Scáthach, although he still maintained his arrogant attitude of being the best in the world, he didn't dismiss other participants as merely beneath him anymore.

"Hmm, if that's the case, then we won't get to drink much. There wasn't much of that wine to begin with."

Iskandar scratched his head, troubled.

"If I recall correctly, you're the one most interested in those so-called heroes."

"Yes, which is why I'm so conflicted."

"Then just draw them all out!" a fearless voice suddenly interjected.

"Flat! It's rude to interrupt like that!"

Caules quickly tried to rein him in.

"But someone's already approaching," Svin added, "over in that direction. This aura... it should be a Servant."

Everyone immediately turned their attention to the direction Svin pointed. Soon, they all sensed a powerful presence unique to Servants—one so strong it could rival Iskandar and Gilgamesh.

Faker's expression turned grim, Iskandar looked intrigued, and Gilgamesh let out a cold laugh.

"To seek an audience with me, at least do it properly, you uncouth mongrel!"
