The inside of the house was just like any common house that one would find.

It even seemed a bit cramped because of how small the house was in the first place.

But there was this warmth that only came with a lived in house that filled this place.

It was clear that this place was a home.

After leading us in, the former crown prince suddenly said, "Sweetie, there's someone that I want you to meet. Come down and meet them."

"Flap, flap, flap." There were loud sounds that came from the stairs that were in front of us.

If they were human, these would have been the sounds of someone's footsteps as they raced down the stairs. But since they weren't human, it was the sound of them swimming against the water in the house.

It seemed like they were in quite the rush with the way that these sounds were made.

"Stupid dad, who told you to call me like this?! Don't you find it embarrassing to call me that now that I'm this old?!" A high voice rang out before a tailfin suddenly came down the stairs.

The tailfin came down as if it was being slapped forward and the target was the former crown prince's face.

He didn't dodge out of the way as this tailfin came right at his face. He just stood there with a smile on his face as if he was happy to take this slap right to the face.

The tailfin hit him straight in the face, but he didn't seem to budge an inch even though he was hit with the full force of this slap.

In the first place, that tailfin wasn't that big.

With how small it was, it seemed to be half the size of a normal merman or mermaid's tailfin. Whoever owned this tailfin was clearly still a child, but they were slapping this tailfin out like it was nothing.

After getting slapped in the face, the former crown prince just calmly raised his hand and grabbed the person that slapped him.

He pulled her into his embrace with the same smile on his face before saying, "How could I ever be embarrassed of my sweetie?"

"Ugh, I'm embarrassed of you." The same voice as before rang out after he said this while the small mermaid wanted to break free of the former crown prince's grasp.

It was just that the former crown prince was too strong, so she wasn't able to break free from her grasp at all. She had no choice but to use her arms to push his face away when he tried to place a kiss on her cheeks while there was an embarrassed look on her face.

Eventually, she turned to look at me and Ariel, but it seemed that her attention was more on Ariel than it was on me.

After looking at us for a bit, she said, "Why didn't you tell me that they're already here?"

The former crown prince said with the same smile, "I said that there's someone that I wanted you to meet."

The little mermaid once again slapped out at the former crown prince's face before saying, "You say random things all the time, so who takes you seriously?"

She easily removed herself from the former crown prince's grasp after calming down and he didn't try to hold her this time. Though there was a proud look on his face when he saw her acting like this.

It was like the way that a father would look at their daughter.

When they finally settled, Ariel asked, "This is...?"

She didn't finish her words, but it was clear what she was implying with this.

The former crown prince finally stopped trying to pamper the little mermaid and said, "This

is my daughter with Zyra, so she is also your cousin. Her name is Dicus."

The little mermaid gave a cough before swimming forward a bit and reaching her hand out towards Ariel.

Though the moment that she did, she made contact with the air bubble which surprised her. Making contact with the air bubble made her pull her hand back as if she didn't expect this before she looked at the air bubble with a confused look. It was as if she was seeing this air bubble for the first time, even though it had been here the whole time.

At the same time, it seemed that she finally noticed that there were legs that were under Ariel's torso.

"You're a human?" Dicus slowly asked this question with a confused look on her face.

"No, that can't be right. Since you're my cousin, doesn't that mean that you should be a mermaid as well?" The confusion on her face became greater and greater the more that she thought about it.

Finally, she turned to look at her father with narrowed eyes filled with doubt and said, "Are you lying to me? How could a human be my cousin?"

The former crown prince had an awkward look on his face since he didn't know how to explain it either.

He had only just met Ariel and knew that she was his niece because he recognized her face. However, that didn't mean that he knew why she was currently in a human form.

As far as he knew, she should have been a mermaid.

As there was an awkward moment between father and daughter, there was another voice that came from above.
