Shrouded Seascape-Chapter 1114. Opportunity
Chapter 1114. Opportunity
Gunshots rang out incessantly as Roy streaked across the sky like a missile and unleashed a hail of bullets against the target. Thanks to Roy's attacks, the other party didn't have the luxury to contact anyone.
Soon, Anna and the others followed the other party into the village.
It wasn't that difficult for over two hundred people to surround and isolate just one individual. After a brief commotion, the black-robed Fhtagnists had finally isolated the owner of the dreamscape—the dreamer.
Anna and the others finally saw her true appearance. Compared to her three-meter-tall, featureless figure in her dreamscape, the dreamer looked ordinary and unremarkable in real life.
However, she had one thing that was definitely unique compared to ordinary people—the metal holes on the left side of her neck. A mere glance was enough for anyone to tell that the holes on her neck were ports.
The dreamer gnashed her teeth, glaring fiercely at the Fhtagnists eyeing her like tigers while pointing their guns at her.
"It doesn't matter where you're from; you only have two choices—you can either die on the spot or assist me by becoming my subordinate," Anna said bluntly without wasting any time.
The dreamer put on a fake smile and replied, "Hah, do you really think that you've won? You're bound to lose here! I've already passed on the news that you're still alive."
Anna wasn't intimidated at all. "Do you really think I'll believe that a paltry thief can remember the numbers of any police officers? I don't believe that you have the IMF's number."
The dreamer hung her head in silence.
Just then, Anna sensed something and frowned. She snatched the gun from Li Lu's hand and fired at the dreamer's limbs. Blood splattered, and the dreamer collapsed to the ground.
When the dreamer's corpse landed on the ground, it turned into sand and melted into the ground.
Bang!
A gunshot rang out as a bullet whizzed past Anna. Moments later, people in pajamas with weapons in hand charged over to Anna and her group like beasts.
"Another dream? Do you really think that the same trick will work on me?" Anna knelt on one knee and started drawing. Once Edikth's aura was drawn over, the dreamer had to cancel her dreamscape.
As soon as the eerie chanting ended, chaotic murmurs echoed in everyone's ears.
Everyone present was affected, and they felt a bit agitated.
However, the attackers hadn't disappeared. It turned out that they were all real.
Anna gritted her teeth. "Kill them all! She's controlling them all!"
With that said, she looked down at the conch in her hand and stared deeply at it.
Anna left the Fhtagnists to deal with the villagers and led the others to chase after the dreamer. Of course, Roy took the lead, as he was the fastest among them.
They had no issues finding her at all. The dreamer's escape was just a small incident in Anna's eyes, and before long, they found the dreamer hiding inside a hay barrack.
This time, she wasn't so lucky. She was tied up and dragged to the village.
The Fhtagnists dragged the dreamer into the village junction covered in blood. She was tied up on the ground, and she couldn't do anything other than wait for Anna's decision regarding her ultimate fate.
"You know, I'm actually quite experienced when it comes to interrogation, so you better not make me angry. I'm trying my best to be a good person here," Anna said, lightly patting the dreamer's face.
"Now, answer me—what form does your organization take? Is it a company? A church? Maybe a huge family? How many people like you are out there?"
Anna had done some investigation about whether there were people capable of controlling dreams in Subterranean London, but she found a big pile of nothing.
Anna's questions went unanswered, but she wasn't in a hurry as she paced back and forth on the sticky ground.
"Then, let's change the topic. Since you made a deal with the Shattered God, why don't we make a deal as well? What do you need? Maybe we can achieve a win-win situation here."
"You killed my companions, and you dare to talk about a deal with me?" the dreamer replied, glaring fiercely at Anna.
"No, no, no." Anna wagged her finger at her. "You lot provoked me first. It was also you who attempted to spread the news about me. It was just self-defense.
"Anyway, I'm curious. Why are you so afraid of me? My reputation in Subterranean London should be pretty good. And aren't you supposed to be happy to see that the legendary figure daring enough to confront the IMF is still alive?
"Wait, could it be that you're one of the IMF's dogs?"
The dreamer stayed silent and simply stared into Anna's eyes with a cold smile.
Realizing that the dreamer had no plans of answering her question, Anna smiled slightly. The clown noticed that and tacitly handed over a sharp knife to Anna.
Anna used the knife to trim her nails lightly in front of the dreamer. Then, she took out a notebook from her arms and tossed it over.
"Li Lu, take Gao Zhiming with you to study somewhere else," Anna said, sounding a bit colder than earlier.
Li Lu seemed to know what Anna was going to do next, so she immediately turned around to leave with Gao Zhiming in tow.
Anna grabbed the dreamer's chin and twisted it hard.
Crack!
The dreamer's jaw was dislocated, rendering her unable to bite her tongue to end her own life or shatter the poison capsule on her teeth.
Her props were simple, but Anna could inflict great pain on the dreamer using just about anything. Before long, all of the dreamer's fingernails had been removed, and the fresh wound was then sprinkled with a layer of salt.
The dreamer trembled from the extreme pain, but she still didn't yield. The look in her eyes didn't change even in the slightest.
"You've got guts. Let's proceed with the teeth, then. Do you know? The nerves in the teeth are extremely sensitive; they are much more sensitive than any other nerve," Anna remarked.
Before the knife could explore the dreamer's mouth, the dreamer threw her head forward. Shockingly, she melted like liquid into Anna's body.
Anna reacted quickly and was about to say something when a bloody hand sprouted from her neck, covering her mouth. ƒreewebɳovel.com
The others tried to help Anna, but the bloody ground trembled like a carpet, flinging them away.
The scenery peeled away immediately afterward.
Anna and the dreamer were in a dreamscape once again.
"Hehe, I've gotten a hold of your weakness. You can't break my dreamcatcher if you can't speak or draw that array!"
Just then, rows of rusty torture devices emerged from the ground. Of course, Anna knew why the dreamer had imagined torture devices. Anna closed her eyes and imagined the torture devices as rows of large candies instead.
The torture devices transformed, but they immediately returned to their original appearance.
"315, I told you that you're bound to lose! I'm a god in this dreamscape! Now, I'm going to pay you back tenfold—no, a hundredfold! I'll make you suffer in this dreamscape!
"Those people are your subordinates, aren't they? Well, I'll have all those men come over here and run you through!" the dreamer exclaimed.
Right as she was about to take revenge, however, a bizarre chanting that sounded like a rapid tongue-twister echoed from afar. Everyone present instantly felt agitated upon hearing the chanting.
In the distance, Gao Zhiming was chanting the incantation written on the notebook in his hand. Edikth's summoning array was already drawn in front of him, and a peculiar aura was wafting out of it.
A hint of amusement flashed in Anna's eyes. How could she not be wary of the dreamer when she could unknowingly pull people into her dreamscape?
She didn't necessarily have to summon Edikth herself. Anyone could do it.
Upon realizing that she wouldn't be able to obtain any information from the dreamer, she concluded that it was better to imagine what she wanted into reality as soon as possible.
The dreamer trembled upon hearing the familiar incantation. She immediately tried to retract her dreamcatcher, but she despaired upon discovering that she could no longer do so.
The bizarre and eerie array was like a thumbtack, pinning her dreamscape in place.
Anna closed her eyes and carefully imagined what she wanted to obtain once again. When she opened her eyes again, she found herself staring at a monster.
The monster had gray tendrils all over its body; its huge eyes with yellow cross-shaped pupils resembled lanterns, and it had over a dozen writhing tentacles.
